Since Sam's main qualm was hating Lewis and his practice time being limited I thought he was a good idea, but he basically gives up his music career and does nothing except make pancakes once in a blue moon ^^" He hardly even hangs out with Sebastian anymore, whereas Sebastian still goes and stands awkwardly in Sam's room like clockwork when they'd usually hang out. I kind of want to reset and create a new stream of relationships, but I'm beginning to think you force any of the potential singles to give up their lives to a degree ^^" I kind of feel guilty about that. Since I accidentally named myself Haley the first time I'm tempted to perform my original plan and take Alex in a silly attempt to ruin my doppleganger's life, but I'd still feel bad about it xD

I feel like it is unlikely they used an unsigned 8-bit integer for this. More likely they used 16 or even 32 bit. And if that is the case, even if it's "just" 16 bit - have fun playing until you overflow that :P

Same series, in Friends of Mineral Town (Back to Nature), you and your wife buy a summer home on the beach. I never got that far along in years in the other games, but it seems like they would have done the same for all of them.

In Harvest Moon: DS and DS Cute, your children also grow into teenagers, but never take over the farm and you never die. The vast majority of Harvest Moon games follow the same formula as Stardew: marriage, a child that never ages past a toddler or child, and a main character that never ages. :) Also, in Friends of Mineral Town, you buy that vacation house but I think you can continue farming, its just a little perk I guess.
actually your wife gives you the mountain home in friends of mineral town for 50th anniversary. the beach house is from connecting your game with another harvest moon title (cant remember which but i think it could have been wonderful life). including the spare house you can build in town that gives you 4 total houses in game.
imagine how depressing it would be if as you played all the characters around you began dying of age, until it's eventually just the character left alive in the valley, standing on a stool, ready to jump into a noose...
Are they still updating stardew valley? could do a lot more story wise like harvest moon did. in a wonderful life you eventually die of old age and your children can take over the farm

I feel that people give Joja Corp a bad rap. Something you need to realize about the residents of Pelican town is that they suck!! Why are there broken bridges? Why is the community center run down? Why is the Mayor so suspicious? They have carpenters, blacksmiths, access to the outside world; yet for some reason they're unable to repair a single bridge or upkeep one single building? And what do they do instead? They make one single person, an outsider, do ALL of the work. And even you don't really 'do' it. You leave it to some Junimos to do the actual dirty work... Joja Corp provide a service to help repair communities. Naturally it costs money and as stated; Pelican Town is more of a trial run to see how things go and whether they should bother helping out other villages. The community center was unused and abandoned up until the player arrived, and Joja corp were already there and had plans on refurbishing the center before you arrived too. The test was successful, and Joja corp were able to repair the village. Something the lazy villagers may have never done, and didn't do even when you decide not to go down the Joja path. And what's more, none of the villages decided to help with funding either. It was left entirely up to you. As for the cola machine; yeah it's not much for spending all that hard earned money. But bear in mind that each cola can sell for 20g. That's 20g extra per day you wouldn't normally be able to make. That adds up over time. And what does the trophy do? Nothing. It gives you nothing. And the reward bundles? They're not worth much. The only decent thing is the Crystalarium, and you STILL had to pay 25,000g for that. In fact, the bundles costed you 42500g; around 1/3 of the money you'd cash out to Joja Corp for the monetary ones alone. The rest of the bundle rewards are garbage, and thinks you could easily obtain for free if you work for it, and often cost you more time than the rewards are worth. Time is money! Overall; whether Joja is a big money grabbing capitalist empire or not, that doesn't take away from the fact that regardless of if you side with the village or Joja, the villages suck. If anyone, you should dislike the villagers for doing all the work and causing Joja Corp to notice their laziness and have to intervene. They don't even reward you for the bundles, the Junimos do.
@@aturchomicz821 Joja isn't in the business of "helping communities" or any naive crap like that; the reason they're in Stardew Valley is because they want to gain a foothold in exploiting the natural resources of the valley. The game isn't exactly subtle when it suggests the Joja Corp is evil, just look at the opening cutscene where one employee is taking pills, likely out of stress or depression due to poor working conditions, and the *corpse* of an employee has been unceremoniously left at his former working station. It's also speculated by fans that when the Joja executive realises Pierre has beaten him and the villagers are boycotting him and shouts "I'm done for!" he literally means he will be killed for failing (hence the message "Morris and his cronies were never seen again")

It would be really cool if the town can increase in size (up to a given number of course). For example your children grow up and one of them decides to stay in Stardew Valley but the other leaves somewhere (comes to visit for Christmas and your birthday for example). Both grow up of course and also the child that has decided to stay gets a house somewhere (I mean there are plenty of locations in the game where placing 4-5 houses wouldn't be that much of a problem).

You got to year 50 and didn't know about the grass you can dig up during all the other seasons that has all the books for the library and about half the treasures
I think that there should be a story for your kids growing up, and depending on who you married and what gender they are the story will be different. Then he could introduce you actually having to make a relationship with your children.
they should add a dlc so characters can age. if a player has played for 50 years or more you would get one of two possible cut scenes. 1. saving the community center and the those little spirit creatures would make you immortal, never aging with a bright happy future with the town but watching the community members slowly die. 2. if you side with joja instead after 50 years they decide you are to valuable to let die so in your sleep they turn you into a robot so you can help joja forever, the town is falling apart and some of the people are zombies as a result of some of the failures to turn the community into robots as you can let them roam around as a corpse or put them down. that is the kind of dlc I would like to see, nothing lasts forever.
Kids need a child and/or teen stage where they can help on the farm and maybe play with the other kids and go to penny school(named after the teacher and the budget)

It'd be nice if there was a patch that would allow more dynamic people in the town. Eventually people would die and new people would take their place. I'd say this could probably happen over the course of ten years or so? At year ten the game actually ends. That way it isn't weird that your 50 year old children are still useless.
How the hell are people holding interest for this long? I'm in year 3 and feel like I have done everything. The community center is done, wifed up, kid, got my farm set up as a ancient fruit winery, got the galaxy sword and shit. What else is there to do?
I was curious to what difference there really is between blueberry and starfruit. It says blueberry gives around 21 gold per day and starfruit around.. 24-25? Are they really that similar for one seasons crop? Counting that you sell them and dont make wine.

ZombieRiser my idea is completely full of crystalariums filled with diamonds but that's impossible considering your farm is huge compared to one crystalarium as well as each ONE costs ninety nine stone meaning that you would spend years of real life in the in game mines!

I think that there should be a story for your kids growing up, and depending on who you married and what gender they are the story will be different. Then he could introduce you actually having to make a relationship with your children.

they should add a dlc so characters can age. if a player has played for 50 years or more you would get one of two possible cut scenes. 1. saving the community center and the those little spirit creatures would make you immortal, never aging with a bright happy future with the town but watching the community members slowly die. 2. if you side with joja instead after 50 years they decide you are to valuable to let die so in your sleep they turn you into a robot so you can help joja forever, the town is falling apart and some of the people are zombies as a result of some of the failures to turn the community into robots as you can let them roam around as a corpse or put them down. that is the kind of dlc I would like to see, nothing lasts forever.

For the year 50 thing it could have been a lot darker like your character is in a coma or something like that.

It'd be nice if there was a patch that would allow more dynamic people in the town. Eventually people would die and new people would take their place. I'd say this could probably happen over the course of ten years or so? At year ten the game actually ends. That way it isn't weird that your 50 year old children are still useless.

prob not long, he did just wake up and sleep through alot of years to demonstrate things like: truffle farms, crop comparisons, and other things. so instead of waiting he just slept through and showed you that way.
I'm pretty sure it's at the 100th year mark.
This is why, after much debate, I won't get the game. I want to see passage of time!
