For anyone having got the "Strange Capsule" or "Stone Owl": They aren't that rare as they used to be when this video came out. Now they can spawn far more often than back then.
1.5 Update has seriously increased the rates of events. On my current playthrough I got stone owl on year 1 and a second on year 3 I think. Got capsule on the same file.

another rare thing is those damned crabs in the mines, when I don't have a quest for it, they show up like 2~6 of them... but... If I do have a quest, their rarity increased like hell

The stone owl I've gotten twice on my farm legitimately and it was within my first year, and I've gotten the strange capsule once. So it is definitely in the game
the fact that i got 2 crop faries, 2 meteorites, alien on the sell screen, a witch, strange capsule, AND the stone owl in the span of 2 ingame years is scaring me
you might've read the comments already, but the odds of both strange capsule and stone owl were fixed, because they weren't supposed to be that rare. it was a topic of debate in the subreddit about whether we should stop posting about it because everybody started getting the events.
I got three...I dunno what to do with them. But mine showed up over three years in-game. Edit: Nearing the end of year 6 and I now have five owl statues, and they’re all useless. I just want an Ancient Sword drop so I can finish the damn museum...
When me and my girlfriend first started our very first farm in stardew, our first night we had the crop fairies come. Over 52 years in game later, I still have never seen them again. We never realized how rare that was.
@@xXJelly11Xx If you're playing in the 1.5 version, those events are not that rare anymore.. they actually increased the chances of those events to occur.. I've been playing since like.. from ver 1.3 or something, and believe me.. those events mentioned above are super rare at that time that u might only see it once or twice
wait, i didn't know the stone owl was even rare at all. I found one on my co-op farm on nintendo switch in like early spring of my first year and thought nothing of it. It lives by our crops and is named Clive
I recently played a game with the forest farm playthrough and kept the two areas with the hardwood that respawns fairly untouched and inhabited by my tapped trees and the stone owl appeared there! I was like wtf is that and planted fruit trees around it as an offering lol. I can't say I know what triggered it, but it seems being a friend of the forest might. Worth a test!
08：54 The owl event is triggered by not sleeping on time (you fall asleeep automatically on site at 2:00am) on a owl event night, and you will trigger the event... Not sure about the chances since I've only got it twice out of around 7 times
I don't know if that helps, but I noticed that in winter at around midnight there sometimes flies a huge black bird that seems to be an owl over my farm. It has only happend twice, but if you follow it it's gone when flying off your farm. I haven't been playing that much so I don't know if it's anything rare of could be part of this..
Me too! Tried to dig it up during year one because i didn't know what it was, and it hopped into my pond. I figured it would land on the ground as an item, but it landed in the pond because my pockets were filled :(
The odds must have increased in the years, as I just started playing about a week ago, and got the strange capsule in my first year. I just got the owl statue last night on year three, too.
The stone owl showed up on my farm pretty early on my second month i was so confused as to what it was i chucked it in a chest and havent touched it for all of my 4 year playthrough Update: came back to the game a year later and got a stone owl and a ufo to spawn all in year 2
I think these rates of these events have been increased since this video was published. I've seen atleast two capsules and 4 owls between 2 play throughs. Both capsules in the first year on seperate playthroughs.
Would have to agree, just picked this game up a couple weeks ago and I've had several of these happen and barely into my second year. Haven't seen the flying alien on the shipping screen, nor the Marnie dialogue, or the crop fairy, but I've had the meteorite, the witch (she dropped off a void egg), the rare capsule, and had two Stone Owls show up.
My husband and I actually got the rare capsule on our second year! I didn't know it was rare! We didn't know anything about stardew valley when we bought it, just thought it would be a fun game to play while the baby was falling asleep. That's so cool!

I just got the game and within the FIRST SEASON, a Meteorite showed up. I thought it was a scripted event... You're telling me, a man of untold misfortune, that a 1% chance event occurred within the FIRST SEASON? I'm suspicious of the Universe even more than I already was.

I know this video is 4 years old but I had to share this. My sister was playing on the PS4 and actually had the capsule spawn on her farm (idk how she got it considering all the animal coops and stables she has) she was really confused and was too scared to touch it. She was even more scared when the capsule broke. So like a good big sister, I told her an unbeatable hostile monster was loose on her farm and she could be attacked at any moment. Now she has been preparing for war. I’m a great sister :)
Owl Statue event just happened in my co-op world. My friend started freaking out, and when I went over to check, he was screaming about an owl statue. I had no idea these were even in the game, but yeah it just appeared in our farm one day. Suffice to say I've saved the farm file and taken screenshots.

In my first time playing the game i didn't knew that the crops die in the end of the month and how to clean the spring's dead crops on my field, so i got the fairy but the crop that she choose to make grow was dead. Sad
Adilene S - Are you sure it wasn't because the Fairy grew them all? The animation only shows it growing 1 crop, but it will still do a whole area. I bet it grew all the sunflowers right there, and that's why you figure it grew a close-to-finished crop.

you might've read the comments already, but the odds of both strange capsule and stone owl were fixed, because they weren't supposed to be that rare. it was a topic of debate in the subreddit about whether we should stop posting about it because everybody started getting the events.

When me and my girlfriend first started our very first farm in stardew, our first night we had the crop fairies come. Over 52 years in game later, I still have never seen them again. We never realized how rare that was.

I recently played a game with the forest farm playthrough and kept the two areas with the hardwood that respawns fairly untouched and inhabited by my tapped trees and the stone owl appeared there! I was like wtf is that and planted fruit trees around it as an offering lol. I can't say I know what triggered it, but it seems being a friend of the forest might. Worth a test!

I don't know if that helps, but I noticed that in winter at around midnight there sometimes flies a huge black bird that seems to be an owl over my farm. It has only happend twice, but if you follow it it's gone when flying off your farm. I haven't been playing that much so I don't know if it's anything rare of could be part of this..

I think these rates of these events have been increased since this video was published. I've seen atleast two capsules and 4 owls between 2 play throughs. Both capsules in the first year on seperate playthroughs.

I just got the game and within the FIRST SEASON, a Meteorite showed up. I thought it was a scripted event... You're telling me, a man of untold misfortune, that a 1% chance event occurred within the FIRST SEASON? I'm suspicious of the Universe even more than I already was.
It is actually less than one percent, because it has to scan for a two by two area

My sister was playing on the PS4 and actually had the capsule spawn on her farm (idk how she got it considering all the animal coops and stables she has) she was really confused and was too scared to touch it. She was even more scared when the capsule broke. So like a good big sister, I told her an unbeatable hostile monster was loose on her farm and she could be attacked at any moment. Now she has been preparing for war. I’m a great sister :)

Owl Statue event just happened in my co-op world. My friend started freaking out, and when I went over to check, he was screaming about an owl statue. I had no idea these were even in the game, but yeah it just appeared in our farm one day. Suffice to say I've saved the farm file and taken screenshots.

In my first time playing the game i didn't knew that the crops die in the end of the month and how to clean the spring's dead crops on my field, so i got the fairy but the crop that she choose to make grow was dead. Sad
