yes, children can ride the railbikes ... its a great outing for families, though pricey. think of the railbike as a e-bike ... the motor is there as an electric power assist as you pedal to help on the hills. It is not meant to be there so you don't have to pedal ... which you do.

Ride bikes did not exist when I experienced the Skunk train in the 60s. Very cool. Outdoor masks appear ridiculous, now, except protection from flying insects.
Rail biking is very cool. And agree, masks on the rail bikes when we are outdoors and socially distanced was a bit much. But then again, when we went, no one really knew what we know now. Better safe is our motto.
All railbike tour companies run on tracks where there are no trains or between scheduled runs of trains that run on the tracks they own. But good advise for anyone thinking of just hopping on a set of tracks anywhere with their own designed railbike ... that would just be clueless, stupid and illegal.

good way to get killed a train going 30 mph would not have time to stop with out killing you so dont try this at home
