But doing this creates a disconnect in the video. I think the video is trying to demonstrate how smart the home is that devices are activated by voice alone. The activation of our devices is a slight inconvenience we can manage.

This is great! I can image what happens if there's power failure. In Cameroon we are still struggling with power instability despite the availability of resources. Smart homes can't be a priority now. We need good roads, affordable housing, power, etc before we can start to think of smart homes.
Rich people are not thinking like you. They already have good roads to their houses, electricity generating sets and so on. This is what they need. This is life my dear.
We're still struggling with power in Nigeria too, it's not like these houses are common here either. But he can afford to pay for constant electricity. You can do the same in Cameroon.
