      I normally purchase a box of 144 pre-wound bobbins on Amazon. It saves a lot of time. Here's the Amazon link: amzn.to/2Fjtk2l

    does the sewing machine know when to stop for it to change colour or do you have to stop it yourself?

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, sorry for the delay. the machine will stop automatically when it reaches a change of color in the pattern.

    I am in the process of shopping for an embroidery machine. I don't mean to ask a dumb question but the bobbin is the same color throughout? Do you use white? the color of the material? Sorry for the dumb question.

      Hi,
      If you have an item that is seen from both sides, you might want to load a bobbin with the same color that you are using on the front of the item being embroidered, but in most cases you'll probably be fine sticking to white in the bobbin.
      Good Luck,
      Ralph

    so when changing colors of the thread in your embroidery machine, you don't have to change the bobbin?

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi, there is no reason to change the thread on the bobbin unless you feel the need to use the same color as your main thread on the back side of your project.

    I recently purchased the PE800. I'm wondering about digitizing software. Did you purchase the PE 10 or 11 software? Is digitizing software necessary? What is the purpose of digitizing? I would like to create my own designs. Thank you

    Does the machine automatically stop when it's time to change colors or do you have to keep close watch and stop it yourself?

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Rebecca Lee Hi, the machine stops between colors, so there is no need to stop it yourself

    I'm sorry ... but where are you putting the thread after it threads through the needle? I can't see because your hand is in front each time. I've only been sewing for about 2 years and threading the needle was always the last step of threading the machine so I am still learning. Thanks.

    I have the brother pe500 do you know if I am able to do this also on it??? How does the machine know when I want to use multiple colors???

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Multicolored designs are separated into individual colors, so that after completing one color the embroidery machine will stop and wait for your instruction to carry on embroidering the next color. This applies to the pe500 as well.

    is it possible to adapt a larger bobbin so you don't run out so soon?

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I wouldn't think so. It would quite an engineering feat to develop some type of adaption that would allow you to run a larger bobbin.

    I'm about to make medium bags and write some letters and words on it.. large letters. But i'm not sure what should i buy brother se400 or pe770? I want some advice. I didn't buy any machine before. And thank u!

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not an expert on the se400, but I do know that it only has a 4 x 4 inch embroidery hoop, whereas the pe770 has a standard 5 x 7 inch hoop. There is also an extra large 12 x 5 inch hoop available that can be attached to the pe770 making it ideal for super large lettering.

    Are you cutting the colored thread before removing the spool from the machine? It looks like you are just removing the spool and threading a new one.

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Diana, there is no need to cut the thread as this is done automatically when the machine reaches the end of an embroidery cycle.

    • @dianaflagg
      @dianaflagg 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes. I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I just got my machine and I'm still learning it.

    what tells you to change the color??? there's nothing there that say change to green or pink

    • @bennygraham847
      @bennygraham847 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the display is in black and white. but it does show the name of the color on each screen of the design. in other words, each thread change has its own screen. the design is created to instruct the machine to go in sequence from thread to thread. that's why each design should come with a color chart. now understand that different creators use different thread systems. the name of the threads depend on the thread system used. however you determine the color thread you will use.

    Have you ever considered 3D printing a 5 spool attachment so you could load all spools but just pull thread when the change is necessary?

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No but I did make a wooden construction to hold three large spools. The problem is that it's not practical for use with regular size spools as the change over is so simple.

    Does the thread cutter cut the thread at the end of the color run? I didn't see you cutting it (pushing the button). Thanks! This is one of the questions I've had. The other is how to rehoop, and/or embroider a pattern that is bigger than the hoop without shrinking it to fit. Guess I'll keep looking.

    • @ralphbaker3382
      @ralphbaker3382  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, the thread is automatically cut at the end of a color run or on completion of the embroidery project. You can't embroider a pattern larger than the hoop that your machine is capable of handling, but as mentioned previously there is an extra large hoop available for the Brother pe770, but it would be almost impossible to use it on large complicated patterns. I have found the pe770 standard 5 x 7 inch hoop size to be perfect for small jobs as well as the largest of quilts.

    • @bikrgran
      @bikrgran 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I got a good deal on a Janome 200e, but wish the hoop was a leeeeetle bit bigger. Oh, well, it's not like I'm going into business. Thanks for the help.

    Can you embroider onto upholstery vinyl with this machine?

    • @bakers2581
      @bakers2581 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there,
      This is not an industrial embroidery machine and I think that it would have a problem embroidering successfully onto a heavy upholstery material, although I've never tried that.
