Yamaha Receiver Network Update

hi there hoping you could give me some direction. i am trying to update the firmware on a rx -a740 over a wireless network from the on screen menu (and i have tried directly on the amp.)
i get it to go into update it goes into verifying but i get the device error notification. i have looked on line but cant find any explanation of this fault. any ideas would be appreciated. thanks
