- Practice gets underway today at Vallnord, Andorra on one of the most demanding and challenging tracks of the year. With a top section that is relatively flat and a lower section that is steep AF combined with high temperatures make for one dry and dusty track. Riders are puzzling hard trying to find a balanced setup trying to find traction and support. Jordi and his crew are kept busy all day working with each racer and their suspension as they systematically DIAL everyone in.

Have to say, I’m most impressed by how the Jordie and the mechanics can interpret what the riders describe about how their suspension in running
That's one of the biggest hurdles to overcome in cycling and motorsports racing. You have to be able to communicate so you can address the issues in order to fix them. The Teams that always dominate, are the riders/racers/mechanics/managers etc... that communicate well with one another.

Looks like the GT mechanic has a notepad where he can record suspension setup info. Where do you get such a thing?
He could probably do with a notepad with the a banned substances list.

Is it not possible to have something similar to livevalve applied to the DH suspension ? Automatically changing the settings according to the section of the track. It would allow to always have the best settings instead of "good enough" for the all track
That takes out the rider's talent and experience of reading the track and setting up the suspension accordingly. Suspension setup can make or break the race, so that's behind the scenes which we don't see that sets these racers apart. They can tell when the setup changes for good.
@@balliboi1197 some team ride with telemetry to decide what are the best settings. It don't make the pilot less talented in my opinion. Sometime riders feeling can be missleading (you can be slow with a great feeling)
