I've been riding MTB since last century and honestly never cared much for DH but this and a few other channels on YT and being able to watch on Red Bull TV has made me a huge fan! Thanks for the great coverage!
We are so happy to see everyone enjoying the series! You guys are the reason we are doing it so let us know what you would love covered and we will make it happen! 🤜🤛
@@FOXFACTORY It would be cool if you set up a high frame-rate camera in a few sections that really push the suspension to the limit in different ways (jump landing vs rock garden vs g-out or turn) and have Jordi analyze what's happening and compare early session "bad" tunes vs a dialed tune.
I get that there are no secrets But in the past, I have had trouble with equalising negative and positive chambers in forks I would be interested to see how Jordy adds PSI; in what increments, how he equalises and how he takes the air out. What should we look out for when making changes to our set up. :)
Im posting my answer here aswell cause i dont know if you are reading the older videos commenteries. Thanks for sharing VikingosDH. We are working on something like this for our next track walk. We could also address more of an amateur suspension setup tips specific to each area. Stay tuned, we have lots of cool behind the scenes stuff coming up!

What a great race! So close Greg Minnaar. I have a Santa Cruz v10cc 2017 with a DHX2 2019, it's my first DH bike that I bought. Right now it has a 600lbs x 2.80, which is a not the spring rate for my weight 58kg (127.8lb) I'm going to buy a new sls but I don't know which should I choose 375lbs 2.5-2.75" or a 400lbs 2.9"?
Jordi is constantly taking and checking notes, all of these notes are then entered into computers, saved, analyzed and used in a variety of ways. It was also one of his key points in his “Basic Suspension Setup Video” 😉
Most pro mechanics log settings for everything - base testing, each venue, any mid season testing. But. somewhere, I think in one of the old Santa Cruz videos, this question was put to Jordi, and the response was that the suspension, the bikes, and the conditions change enough from year to year that this years base setting is a better starting point than last year's race setting.
bigbadboomerang like you said, all of the best mechanics and techs are documenting and taking note of everything, there is no guess work or sorcery going on here 🤓
Hay FOX I have got myself the 2018 Fox float 32.. 160mm travel and was wondering how much and where to get them serviced ..like oil.seals .o rings ...but I got them custom order from fox through a bike shop that is now closed because the owner retired. Can you please help me . I live in( Hamilton Ontario Canada....)?
Hi Blake, Connor here, I have been shooting these on a 6Dmk2 with a 16-35mm and a Rode VMP+ mic. It’s a simple setup that I can set shots up real fast- it’s more important to get the shot than a perfect shot. If I have anytime I’ll throw a “Dialed” colour grade using Film-convert . 🤜🤛
Question: I'm a heavy (104kg but not fat :D) aggressive rider. Is it in general better to ride a spring or coil? I ride a air shock with all bottomless tokens + 260psi.. still not the best progression curve. My suspension is frame wise, pretty linear any recommendation which bikes have a good progressive rear?
linkagedesign.blogspot.com/ The kinematics are derived from photos, so take the leverage curves as very approximate, but I still find them useful. At your weight I'd be more concerned with getting the damper set right than air vs coil though, you are way way outside the target range the off the shelf suspension comes designed for. I know some heavy and fast guys like you that can get to a happy place just with the clickers (on 3 way dampers, at least), others opt to get a custom tune with a stiffer shim stack.
Awesome Videos guys, i have a question: i ride the Santa Cruz V10 29" S Kit with the performance suspension. I have frame size L, high setting on the shock and long setting on the chainstay, my weight is about the same as loris, a little bit less.. When I jump it feels like my front wheel drops, i have 12 LSR like loris, does this come from the fork? So i guess i need to change LSR on the fork. And another problem. When i ride brake bumps it feels like my headset is loose but every bolt on my fork and my headset is tight and has the correct Nm. Maybe you guys can help me 😎
Good question and yes they do notice 1 click, they do this so often and with so much precision, it’s incredible how in-tune they are with their bikes, especially suspension settings.
Greg Minaar was quite rude to Kolja Schmitt. I hope he was just kidding because I'm the most inefficient German and IMHO Kolja does a great job. Love watching #dialed
I think Greg can get better results if he stops drinking, everytime I see him he has a beer on his hand, that's gotta have an affect on his performance.
We can assure you Greg is one of the most motivated, driven, and focused racers on the circuit, the only time you will see a drink in his hand is after a podium!
Keep it up with this series Fox, love it !
Glad you guys are enjoying it, please let us know what you would like to see in future episodes. 👊
More of Steve Peat trackside commentary and loving the interactions between Jordi and all the top riders as they fine tune the suspension settings
We need a show with Jordi and Greg talking after a few pints 🍻 love it 😂😂😂
We will run it by the boss 🤣

Exactly the same here, this and cathro vision and a few other youtube chanels realy make DH intresting
Im sad that i didnt make a fantasy team :(

Love this series. Such a great behind the scenes insight
Glad you like it Armand 👊
Loving this insight. Thanks a lot.
Glad your enjoying it Simon! 👊
Jordi has the eye roll "dialed" 🙄
The man is well practiced 😊
Question: Has Jordi noticed a difference at the World Cups this year over last year with the 'Dialed' series taking off?
The main difference is having a camera documenting everything, but we all enjoy making the series for everyone especially Connor 😂
1:44am? Fox video? HOLD MY SLEEP, I gotta watch this
For me it was 9am cause I’m in Australia
@@oliverhamilton6983 sick! Regards from Switzerland 🇨🇭
This was when we need to stick the “if found please return to Santa Cruz” stickers on Greg’s bikes! Such a fun season that!
Greg had a few brews between the podium and filming this!!!!
Awesome series guys!
Cheers Tamas! 🍻

It’s so cool to share this behind the scenes side of WC DH racing. This is the F1 of our sport 🏎

get a 400lbs 2.5-2.75 will fit perfect and is the right spring rate for your body

Does Jordi keep records of rider settings from winning runs from pervious years? If so does that influence "the puzzling"?
Jordi is constantly taking and checking notes, all of these notes are then entered into computers, saved, analyzed and used in a variety of ways. It was also one of his key points in his “Basic Suspension Setup Video” 😉
Do riders write down there settings from last year for this year. Makes sense to me. Then also make note of this year settings for 2020

@Stephen Park thanks so much for the suggestion... I actually got my sram code r 4 piston disk brakes from free wheel ...👍👍👍
With the Temperatures being higher would you run a thicker oil weight or do you just fully depend on the clicker changes (and maybe valving)?
running this question plus some others past Jordi as we speak, hang tight. 👊
Do you never play with different oils in the damper? Especially in very hot or cold conditions.

...still think that you need a psychiatrist couch for racers to lay on, as they talk about their suspension settings.
We still think you are right. Guess we should start browsing the Andorra Buy & Sell for something appropriate! 😂

First
Second actually
Laurie needs to get a mechanic who understands what is going on. His issue wasn't really suspension related.
We are focused on suspension with DIALED, what do you reckon was an issue for him was?
