I have an aquiline nose and my relationship to nose jobs is watching a bunch of people desperately get rid of a nose like mine. I've unsubscribed from channels after their nose jobs journey and all the vlogs saying "yass queens let's follow me on my journey to get rid of my fugly nose haha!" It's especially shitty when I first discovered them and payed attention BECAUSE they had a nose like mine....

That's sad. 💔 As someone with a rather plain face (average in every way lol, you cannot imagine a more boring-looking person 😅), I've always found striking, prominent features like that to be very beautiful. The rise of plastic surgery washing away any kind of individuality in people's features, with "Instagram face" becoming more and more common, is honestly depressing and creepy. Reminds me of the "gangnam face" phenomenon. Why does everyone want to look the same? It just makes people utterly forgettable and completely unremarkable. 😪

What is actually amusing to me is the candid and not photoshopped results of these nose jobs. You can see this easily with Kylie Jenner. When you see normal photos of her the nose looks too small for her face and it makes her face look large and kind of fat. Often even celebrities will do a cosmetic procedure and throw off the balance in their face. So in reality the nose job can very easily make them look worse. Never mind all the celebrities morphing into cloned robots. Also, they look terrible if cast in anything historical which has been a big point of discussion.

I think personally, it's fine as long as people are honest about it. So many celebs lie about the plastic surgery they do which is so obvious. That's obviously when they don't shit on the traits they already have.

My mom broke her nose twice as a child and then as a teenager, so she's had two nose jobs. The doctor was a family friend who tried both times to reconstruct based off images of family members and what it might look like if it was "natural". Still, there is a lot of existential horror she dealt with realizing this nose was not "hers" and said it was like looking at a stranger in the mirror for years. I share that same existential horror about not wanting to do anything that would make me be unable to recognize my own "self" in the mirror.

Yeah same for me! He says it looks perfect and tells me often how beautiful my face is. In school I felt very insecure. One friend told me I had a greek nose - she didn't meant it in a rude way, just commented. But made me think about my nose more afterwards. I have a small head and thought my nose was too big. And hated my nostrels since they a kinda long. But now I just think :that is my face. It is as nature wanted it to be. Plus although the nose is big and stuff I still got some breathing issues due to a tight inner tunnel (sorry don't know the term),with the mask during covid I got an infection cause the air couldn't cycle around enough. Long story short if my nose was tiny,I probably would get massive problems 😂
      Stay unique.
But also if it bothers really hard or has even a medical benefit, then a person can do whatever - in the end it's their nose 🙂

I have a bulbous nose with a slightly wider bridge - a shape that is far from what is now considered a "cute nose" . It's always been an insecurity of mine and I have dreamt of getting a nose job since I was a teenager (I'm 35 now) and last year I finally decided to get a plastic surgery consult to see what could be done about it. I was really surprised to hear from a plastic surgeon that a nose job is not a good idea in my case. He started analyzing my facial features and said that a smaller, narrower nose would throw my face off-balance completely because I have big, round eyes and full, wide lips, so my natural nose works perfectly with my face and he wouldn't touch it. In his words: "People tend to fixate on singular features and you should look at your face as a whole picture." That man saved me a lot of pain and money...

I have a roman nose and my septum is slightly deviated. Here in Italy a big nose is not considered attractive for a girl. I was never insecure about my nose shape until some friends (especially girls, wich sucks tbh) and family members started pointing out how unfeminine my nose was. They also photoshopped some pictures to show me how attractive I would look with a smaller nose, thinner eyebrows and a darker skintone (at that time I was only 16-17). Now I'm almost 23 years old and I regained my confidence, I love my nose! People still make comments about my appearence but as we say in italian "mi entra da un orecchio e mi esce dall'altro". At the end of the day it's my body not theirs so if they find me that ugly they can look the other way 😝❤

Coming from someone with (what I think is) a bulbous nose, Roman/hooked noses are the most attractive physical characteristic someone can have IMO. I think they're so cute and sexy. I know it probably seems weird to have a certain nose shape as my favorite physical trait but it makes me so sad how hooked noses are always portrayed as ugly when I find them so beautiful. I'm not sure how much my opinion counts but if anyone reading this has a hooked nose, don't listen to what these influencers say. You're absolutely gorgeous!
It just makes me so upset that people feel the need to point out things that aren't even a problem, such as people's nose shapes. Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) is beautiful in their own way and I'm sick of seeing people feel bad about themselves over other people making up problems. I've experienced this over my hip dips, which I literally didn't even notice I had until it became trendy online to hate them. Sorry for ranting but it just makes me sad seeing the negative impact these influencers and celebrities are having over their own personal insecurities.

Since childhood my nose wasn't in accordance with the standard. My nose is short and, in addition, with a really bulbous nose tip. I refused to take photos of my face, but didn't hide it in public. Why? This is tiresome.
The worst punishment for me was my own opinion, not anyone else's. But I had to change my thinking. After life-threatening condition I understood that:
      1) Аll this beauty standards will not save me in case of emergency.
      2) My energy should be given not to hiding, but to positive actions, that will benefit me, my family and my community (tutoring, sports, writing, etc).
      3) I may not become an actress or model due to my appearance. I will not be granted the pretty privilege. Meanwhile, I shouldn't waste my time on remorse. I should seek other ways to increase my income.

I never perceived my nose as small, so hearing that was such a pleasant surprise. It took a while, but that single statement helped me get to where I am today, perfectly happy with my nose :)

I know a girl whose heart stopped on the operating table. She was resuscitated and brought back. While getting a nose job. When I was in a middle school, I would never look people in the eyes, because I was so ashamed of my nose. Some people called me a long-nosed princess. I got over it, it is my body, I can't change it apart from literally chopping it off, so I just accepted that it is what I look like. And it's perfectly fine. I am so f tired of everyone looking the same, same face, same nose, same cheeks, same lips - I see it so much it starts to look ugly to me. I want to see more natural faces, see some freaking variation. Crooked noses, thin lips, hooded eyes - they can be so pretty.

I have a Greek/Roman nose. It was the only part of my body I truly wanted to change growing up. One day during my senior year of high school, a friend in art class expressed her love of my nose and called it “regal.” I have loved my nose ever since and tell myself “it’s so regal” when I have moments of insecurity. Sometimes all it takes is seeing it in a different light.

i had a nose job when I was 16 - I was slightly insecure about my nose but was trying to live with it and in retrospect it was hardly even "bad" as such (I don't think any noses are really "bad," but my younger self did lol). However, my mom is quite vain and had always valued beauty a lot, so she essentially told me to get it done and that it was no big deal since we could afford it; basically, she said "why not fix it if you can?" By saying that, although she really didn't mean it maliciously, I understood that she thought my nose needed "fixing," and I wasn't averse to surgery, so I just got it done. My surgeon was very good and my nose still fits my face super well, and he even kept some of the distinctive features it had so I can still recognize it as mine, but it's still surreal sometimes to touch my nose and know I didn't have it from birth. I'm 21 now and I don't regret it most days, as I really don't think about my nose much any more, but what i do regret is not waiting until I was older to consider surgery. It changed my nose at a formative state in my development, so I'll never know what my nose would've grown into. I feel a bit sad sometimes that I have a "fake" nose, because I feel a bit like a poser/liar, but I'm always honest with people when they ask about it. moral of the story; don't let your moms bait you into getting a nose job when you're young; wait until you're an adult, and if you still want it, keep in mind that the surgery is really not easy. I don't care about my nose that much any more, but at times I miss having a face that is completely genetically mine and occasionally wish i had my old nose back - the regret comes and goes.

You could get a nosejob if it bothers you that much, I did and I like my looks way better now. Just don't hop on a trend and tweak your nose as little as possible to get a result you are happy with. Also, surgeons that specialize in revision surgeries are very skilled. Make a photoshop design and see how you can be happy with the shape with minimal tweaks. Trust me, less is more!

She had an aquiline nose and also a bit of the Habsburg underbite. Until quite recent times aquiline noses were considered desirable in the West. as someone who does illustration im strating to take a more objective view on body characteristics and the cultural perceptions while still criticizing those cultural perceptions. noses are noses and they can have many shapes. it is as it is. beauty is very subjective, it is literally humans perceiving objective facts and they having opinions. they cannot change the objective fact the nose is a nose. it also won’t change that human perceiving stuff constant changes and therefore classifying thugs as ugly is pretty much worthless. ugly in my mind doesn’t really exist. it’s just a amalgamation of features that people perceive based on the culture they grew up in. it gives me existential dread thinking on how much of our ability to perceive things is tainted by negative aspects of culture that makes us hateful.

I had to slowly love myself and this took years, since most Africans don't often consider surgery when it is what they've been born with and can likely be viewed as a rejection of some kind towards your parents or certain norms. Even though bleaching to change the skin tone has often been seen as normal in some cultures. I do agree that getting is seen as a luxury as you need a lot money to get the work done. Given that, I believe that my favorite trait is my empathy, because it has made me become who I am today in my career and towards others since my work involves helping people.

I'm somewhere between a greek and roman nose (at least according to the chart you showed) and one time in my senior year of college, I'd had a lab class where we always had to wear masks inside because of covid. I worked with the same 3 other people the entire quarter, and towards the end of the quarter while we were waiting for a PCR gel to run, a guy in my group started talking about how he'd gotten a nose job in high school. He went "yeah I used to have one of those giant Roman noses y'know with the HUGE bump in the middle-" (in a way that was clearly meant to be derogatory) and I just went "oh like this?" and pulled down my mask to show my nose, because he'd never seen me without a mask on before. The look on his face was priceless to say the least.
anyway, I used to dislike my nose a lot when I was younger and always planned on getting a nose job, but that incident is (at least part of) why I started making a real effort to like my nose as is. I wouldn't say I'm necessarily there yet, but I no longer actively dislike my nose which is a big step for me. And I know that either way, I don't want a nose job. No judgement to people who get them, but my nose is distinctive and I want to embrace that

And think about it this way: if being comfortable with how you look is a skill, then wouldn't you rather learn that skill now, than thirty years from now when you've spent all that money? All of us are going to get old and naturally fall out of the cultural beauty standard at some point. There's literally no avoiding it no matter how many surgeries we get. for the LONGEST time i've craved a nose job so badly, especially when i was a teenager. and when i tell you i now feel GLAD that i'm poor, because if i had the money i'd TOTALLY have gotten a nose job and probably regret it after. now i see that my nose complements my face perfectly and a button nose wouldn't fit me even though i still think it's beautiful. stop hating on your noses, guys, 99% of the time they're the way they are for a reason!!!!!

I wanted a nose job as a teen, but decided to wait 5 years, and then still wanted it. I saved up, and I'm very happy with the result (spoke with 4 docs before picking my fav). I planned it for over 6 years and people still think I got the surgery impulsively or "without thinking it through." 🙄

Thats a very mature way of going about it, especially since you took the time to recognise that its something you truly want and not an impulse that you might regret later.

My nose was something I hated a lot growing up, my family telling me I had my mom's nose. Which would be fine if my mom hadn't gotten a nose job herself. So I always felt I was "pre-glowup". I never hated my side profile, but looking straight on, I thought my nose looked a bit bulbous. So for a long time I said, "yeah, I would get a nose job." but then I started using filters and tried to imagine myself with a different nose and realized that my whole face would just, feel weird?, if I had a different nose. So TLDR. If you asked me 2 years ago, yeah, I would, but now, I don't think so.

I love my nose. It has a small hook and not straight. But my parents both have the same hooked nose and I love them - so I love our noses too. ❤
It is not childish barbie nose, it looks a little agressive. And it makes me feel more confident sometimes - like a girlboss maybe😂

It sucks too because plastic surgeons and social media will call dorsal humps "deformities" when they're normal noses.

I love my nose (except for the fact that for some reason my skin is always red so yeah, clown vibes) but also... I noticed that many guys and girls I'm attracted to have prominent, characteristic noses (one of my friends said pussy-eating nose, which... yea) and I'd be sad if there were less of those in the world

My nose . What a struggle it has been for long time to get over it!!
I used to feel so embarrassed as a child liek since age 7/8 .
Everytime I used to go for vacation at my hometown, everyone would call it looked like a big 🥔.
And that's how it started !
Now , it does look like a cute 🥔 but NO SHAME in that ANYMORE !!
    excited to watch the video
Also , whether your nose looks like
    🥔 or 🌶 or 🥕or 🥦or 🥜or 🌰!
It's beautiful! Anything god / the universe has created IS MAGICALLLL!
    LOVE UUU🥺🤝🏻

I've had alot of plastic surgery and from experience I can tell you:
    - Fillers are for filling in soft volume where it lacks, not to mimic bone structure (not for noses).
    - The goal should be to balance out your face, a nose shouldn't stand out for being tiny or big, it should blend in with your face. Not be a fashion trend.
    - Alot of people go through anxiety and depression right after surgery.
    - Look at the entire face, is your nose big or does it look big because of misaligned jaws or a weak chin?
    - Make a design of what you want in photoshop.
    - Your nose won't be perfect, accept it and don't get a revision unless you are actually botched. It's about improvement, not perfection.
    - Do it because YOU want to, very little people will notice afterwards unless you tell them.

I have my dad's natural nose, which is straight, snub-nosed, and not too big. I don't think there's much to do there. But because of all the social media, I started to think about shrinking it and enlarging my lips, even though it's relatively rare..

I have a hook nosed and have always wanted a nose job ngl. But as I’ve gotten older I’m learning to appreciate it now because it makes me unique! And maybe it might be beneficial to someone to see another girl with a hooked nose. I know I would have benefited from that when I was younger
