2024 Canadian Go Open Concludes Successfully, Lei Guo Realty Thanks You for Your Support
From June 29 to July 1, 2024, the E.Y. Centre in Ottawa hosted the 47th Canadian Go Open. The three-day event was not only a fierce competition of Go skills but also a grand gathering of Go culture, filled with battles on the board and laughter off the board. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Canadian Go Association (CGA), the Ottawa Chinese Community United Association (OACCUA), and the Ottawa Go School for their hard work, as well as to all the players and Go enthusiasts for their enthusiastic participation.
Exciting Matches, Talented Opponents
The competition featured seven groups, with the highest level being the Open Group consisting of players ranked 5-dan and above. The arena was packed with top players, showcasing breathtaking moves and strategic plays. After intense matches, the champions of each group were finally revealed, with the Open Group champion taking home a grand prize of $1,000 CAD. The total prize pool was nearly $5,000 CAD, making it a feast for Go enthusiasts.
Award Ceremony and Celebration Banquet
On the afternoon of July 1 at 4:00 PM, the award ceremony was held at the E.Y. Centre with much fanfare. Distinguished guests, including the Chinese Ambassador, Japanese Embassy Envoy, Korean Embassy Minister, and MP Arya, attended to present trophies and medals to the winners. After the ceremony, everyone gathered for the celebration banquet, enjoying drinks and sharing their love for Go in a lively and joyful atmosphere, proving that Go is not just a competition but also a wonderful social event.

比赛分为七个组别，最高水平的公开组由5段及以上的高手组成。赛场上，各路高手齐聚一堂，有惊天动地的绝杀，有稳扎稳打的布局，真正是高手过招，妙手连连。经过一番激烈的厮杀，各组冠军终于揭晓，公开组冠军抱走了1,000加元的大奖，总奖金接近5,000加元，堪称围棋迷们的盛宴。
颁奖典礼与庆祝晚宴
7月1日下午4点，颁奖典礼在E.Y. Centre热热闹闹地举行。中国大使、日本使馆特使、韩国使馆公使、MP Arya等嘉宾纷纷亮相，为获奖者颁发奖杯和奖牌，现场一片欢声笑语。颁奖典礼后，大家移步到庆祝晚宴，欢聚一堂，觥筹交错，分享围棋的乐趣和心得，气氛热烈而欢快，仿佛围棋不仅是一种竞技，更是一种美好的社交活动。
