The Spirit Burner uses alcohol based fuels such as methylated spirits. Easy to use thanks to the simple construction, a filling (max. 2/3 of the burner) burns for approx. 25 min, boiling 1L of water in 10 mins.
The Gas Burner is easy to use, has a fast boiling time and keeps the pots soot free. Boils 1L of water in about 3.5 min
The Trangia Principle
The heart of the storm-proof Trangia stove system is the two-part windshield. The ventilation holes in the lower windshield are turned to face the wind to increase the oxygen supply to the burner. If the wind becomes too strong, the stove is turned to maintain the required flame. The Trangia spirit burner runs on alcohol based fuels such as methylated spirits which are low cost, safe and readily available. The combined frying pan/lid can be put on top of the pan to speed up heating and save fuel. The stove stands stable, with the pan on the supports recessed into the upper windshield. The supports are turned upwards when the frying pan is used. The Trangia stove can also be used with a gas, multi-fuel or gel burner, which all can be found in the Trangia range of accessories. - บันเทิง
That triangle idea looks SO compact and light. I have used my Trangia cooking set for over 35 years and love it - but they are bulky and if I don't need the two pots, frying pan lid and kettle then its a waste of space. Umm, now then, maybe one for my gear list. Thanks for the demo etc, W :)
I echo your comments , the issue with the "normal" trangia is exactly that, if you don't use everything it's a waste , but if you bring it all it is a heavy unit! This kinda makes the trangia burner suitable for those ultralight days😀
Never used an alcohol burner before until last week,little liquid goes a very long way ! Enough for a cup of tea and heat through a meal,it was off eBay for just under £6 in stainless steel,also I have a titanium wood burner in flat pack which was under a tenner! Loads of pots etc in titanium on eBay for El’cheapo and very good quality too! 🙂

I love Trangia stoves for their simplicity and adaptability. I've got the 27UL stove with kettle. Yours reminds me of the Bushcraft Essentials Bushbox Ultralight stove (what a mouthful) which I also own. Can never have enough stoves. Thanks for sharing 👍

Nice video,,, They have always said to ensure the black knob is closed before attaching the fuel bottle. I use a firebox 5” titanium in conjunction with the Trangia gas burner. I love the versatility of the Firebox. The Trangia gas burner is the icing on the cake,,,!!!!! Cheers. !!!!

Firebox nano paired with my trangia gas burner is my go to.
Get yourself one of the Ferro Rods with a striker. You can light all the stoves with one and you do not have to get your hands into danger with them. You can throw the sparks from outside the stove over either style of burner.

I use a Firebox Nano stove and either a Trangia Spirit Burner, or the Trangia gas burner for my lightweight stove set up. The Alcohol one for summer and the gas one for really cold days. It's just so versatile and lightweight. I also just use wood on the Nano, if there's some available. That way I have three fuel options covered. Nice video, thank you.

You can also take both burners out, drop the little grate down in the bottom and make a little wood fire in a pinch.
You'd probably have seen my BCB mark ii that I use out on the moor with my 35 year old trangia burner, it's good for wood and tabs too, and could probably be modified for gas. I would never use gas for just the reason you showed (plus noise) but good for you keeping that in.

Nice one, I'm a bit of a stoveaholic too, but my trangia triangle is by far my most used stove. I love the simplicity of it. I modded mine with a couple of cut down tent pegs to enable it to accommodate the smaller pots and they store nicely in the pouch, I also added a little Alpkit windshield to my kit.
Have you noticed that the trangia triangles are pretty difficult to get hold of at the mo? I've no idea why.
Funny you mention about not being available I was looking up the weights etc for the video and also noticed the lack of them , maybe a version 2 on the horizon!
Can't beat this stove .. nice. Worth moving the gas cartridge further away from the stove. Atb.

The gas burner will melt all the plastic off of your kettle by the way.
Not had an issue to date.
I have both tragia burners but not triangle.
It a stealth cooker, simular idear but slid aluminium goes in pocket very sturdy. Hlpe to try it soon.

What would have happened to the blooming time if you put the kettle on earlier? I'd have thought it would reflect the heat onto the burner.

Hi do fid it very fiddly to sit the gas burner inside the Trangia trianlle? Any tips or hacks please ,I use my triangle with meths burner but will buy the gas adapt sooner
@@simonmorris380 tbh no worse then with the normal trangia . I tend to put the gas canister on last to make it easier! Rgds Rob
If you don’t over fill the burner with alcohol it’ll bloom in seconds.
Have you measured what is roughly the minimum pot diameter you can safely use with the triangle?
Not as of yet, I actually snipped down to size a small mesh grid made from a roasting tin insert to help with when I use a titanium cup / smaller item. It sits nicely inside of the pouch. 👍❤️
@@WildCamper Nice! I've been wondering how does the Trangia's own pan stand accessory fit the Triangle, got one of those? I've wanted to get a Triangle for a year now, but I guess COVID has caused some production challenges for it :-/
@@someroskilde I don't have a pan stand unfortunately for me to check for you. I have heard that trangia have stopped production of this style now which seems a shame.
@@WildCamper I received this reply from Trangia customer service a month back: "Currently there is a high demand on the Triangle and we are looking into some new changes in the production. Hopefully it will be back in stock sometime this year."

clickstand was around a decade before trangia stole the design.
I use the trangia kettle and pans. Then no need to make a grill. 🤷♂️
Kinda buggers the point of having the ultralight triangle by carrying the kettle and pans then 🤷😂.

I bought one some years ago, not that impressed to be honest Rob. It’s quite expensive and quite fidgety. Much cheaper and better alternatives out there, wouldn’t ever buy another, but thanks for your review anyway,tab James...
