When they put multiple spreads on a line, that created shorter employment periods for the guys...old days less spreads on the entire length....longer periods of employment.

These guys are moving......may be for the camera....lots of things break, cave in, anywhere ahead of you problems, it slows down....not many hours like this before something brings it to a slow down...

This a "Bell and Spigot" type welded connection normally only used for low/ish pressure fluid transport (such as water).

george waite where is the Bell and Spigot you speak of? The ends of the pipe have been prepped with bevels on both the inside and outside for butt welds.

@@acemannotsomeother The intoductory film footage is a curious mixture of butt weled and bell and spigot lap welded joints.

@@MegaBoilermaker good try, but you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. These are oil or gas pipelines being built, and certainly not bell and spigot.

Megadumpster welding engineer the bell and spigot you talked about in video does not exist that is what's called spiral wound pipe im a 43 year veteran of the pipe trade cross country pipeline nuclear ect. If you were ever really around you would of known that with out second guessing that it was bell and spigot typical office moron we call ed them blowhards

I will tell you that pace will kick the shit out of the welders in short order because of all of the out of position work they are in and the rest of the crew will last for a while longer.

I didn't realize that pipeline work was so "high production. That all looked very efficient? Hmmmm
