I'm the owner of the cover photo car/setup. I'll have more content to share on it soon. Thanks for sharing!
I will see if I can tag your channel in the description! Looking forward to the content!!!
I am the owner of the black S13! Appreciate the share 😄
I’m the owner of the blue ke35 at the start 🤙🤙

How did you make it sound like an American muscle or LS? 😍😍 Assuming it has a 1uz or 3uz.
I was not expecting it to sound like that. Wow
Neither was I tbh. Incredible sounding
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 stock cams?
not quite sure, actually but I assume not stock cams. but i could be wrong
If you’re talking about the blue corolla at the start, it was a completely stock 1uz at the time of that video I just ran a bit of nitrous. The cars turbo’d now
@@SikRacing78 what are the details on the exhaust set up on that? sounds mean
Man those equal length headers make a world of difference. I want a set so bad now!
do it!!!!! been following yalls build for a while now
I also hope to run equal length manifolds on my next UZ project. The is430 is a bit too tight for it.
Do you have any room to run them towards the front of the car and wrap around underneath? I'm trying to gauge my options for the SC/Soarer chassis myself, the steering rack could be a problem and the inner fender sheet metal as well
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 unfortunately without moving the radiator I fear the piping could be super close. My next build will be a drift build allowing the radiator to be moved to the back and that will provide me the room I need on that build.
Just have some made. Theres lots of ways to twist the pipes to get lengths right while fitting in stock spaces.
Can confirm, UZ in an IS works quite nicely but very little space for intake and exhaust piping
That first car almost sounds like an American cross plane V8, especially in the growling top end. Very nice.
Nah sounds better. Uz always have.
A crossplane V8, with headers, sounds like a crossplane V8, with headers, regardless of country of origin.
@@jamesgeorge4874 yes, it was just to drive home the sound profile I meant.
It’s understood that German V8’s made for the US (at least 5 liter and X-plane) sound quite the same, and completely different than a high revving Ferrari flat plane V8 for a broader market.
@@jamesgeorge4874 maybe so, but the sound of eight equally spaced exhaust pulses will not be the same as that of a conventional V8 where the pulses are paired.
@@richardharrold9736 that doesn't make sense. Put headers on a 1UZFE, a VK56, a 3.5 Rover V8, an LS, and a 5.0 Coyote, run each one through the same muffler, and you would not be able to distinguish one, from the other. Watch some video of V8 dyno pulls, with open headers, they all sound the same.
i like how it sounds like a mix between an ls and coyote for most of them
Seems like intake manifold and custom headers are the magic behind these engines!! 300+ whp easy!
Holy crap the first are probably going to sound like a flat plane crank V8 just the level of work is mind blowing
I'm so excited to hear it lol, its gonna sound bonkers
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 I am going to guess it going to sound close to the ls7 Passat
I hope so because that Passat sounds absolutely insane
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 I can't wait to hear that guy set up
Wow: first one is bonkers sounding!
Definitely one of my favorites in the video. All of them sound amazing, but there's definitely a reason I put that one first lol
Real but the Sion is what ill go after. We not building drag cars at my shop we building 1 of 1 lemans cars 😈
(And it will piss my neighbors off less)
The silvia at 2.00 runs the engine that once lived in a drift Corolla here in Tassie. Was 14.1 compression, custom made headers by the driver/builder at the time lloyd Smith running side exit. Was pretty rowdy sounding. Theres lots of videos of it if you search falken v8 corolla. cheers
Thank you for the info. Searching up Falken V8 Corolla right now!
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 th-cam.com/video/x-C33kVKzXM/w-d-xo.html at 5.40 there is a list of modifications and more details on exhaust sizing etc. Happy to help :)
That thing was famous, nearly well popularized 1UZ swaps (and inspired by MotorFIX's own KE70 1UZ swap).
Love that kid who went GO!!! And soft ooh… 😂😂
Dude I would hate to be the guy having to do a timing belt on that car
I couldn't imagine how annoying it would be having to remove all that piping ever single time you have to get into that area lol
Some of these sound insane
someday I hope to make some equal length 8-1 headers for a 1UZ but for now it's a pipe dream
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 I think it can be done using a set of hurricane headers as a base. Then raising the floorboard of the passanger side for room and to bundle them together in the right firing order
@@ClassifiedRecon that's a good idea, I didnt even think of that as a possibility
I bought a BMW e12 for cheap because I love the shape and think it's gonna make for a great project car. I would love a rowdy v8 for it eventually it but would hate to put a non-BMW engine in it but I CANNOT get over the sound that these UZ engines make!!!😭😭😭NO BMW ENGINE SOUNDS ANYTHING LIKE THIS!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😭😭😭
That's insane ❤❤ nice
My mom had SC430 with 3UZ-FE engine that thing had one of the best interiors I have ever seen. The Lexus is beyond comfort.
They definitely do have wonderful interiors. Not a fan of the exterior, though :\
Dang I can’t fit those in my 92 ls400 but sounds beautiful
Young man in the back was a little shook. Awesome sound by the way XD
It's amazing sounding
Last guy with the Hilux is silly AF for doing chambered mufflers, and separately choosing not to do a crossover pipe. what a way to kill potential torque/HP/mpg
Thanks for starting the video with the sound. U r a legend
Badass
You do not have to equalized headers length... you just need to equalized headers flow and pressure! No matter if one header's pipe ends up being wider than the other.
If you want it to sounds like shit listen to this guy
It's about not having interference from exhaust gas pulses.
Therefore no that's not how it works.
@@heinzhaupthaar5590 you get it. The op you can tell by the way he speaks is ignorant in real power
That first blue car sounded the best but you didnt show its setup ?
Aaayyyyye that’s my 8-1 header for the FRS
4-2-1 minifolds on a non-flat plane is 100% useless...
Im 99percent sure I took the gearbox out of that blue corolla once. It ran 10second 1/4 miles and was on nos
Do you have any videos or other info on it?
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239IF I am right, my workmates brother owns/owned it. I'll see what I can find on it for you
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 Its been sold. Its now sporting a silver wrap and is turboed. FYI, If you weren't aware, this is from New Zealand. Cheers
Thank you for the info!!
The "big 3" car guys: Nothing sounds better than the sound of V8 American muscle.
Me: WRONG! Japanese V8 muscle sounds hell of a lot better.....just wish they made big blocks, though.
I think the closest we can get for the time being is the 3UR which is 5.7L, not sure if there is much in the way of higher displacement than that for JDM engines tbh
@@drivingmonkeyofus6239 Hopefully one of these days Toyota or Nissan will come up with a big block. Of course, by Japan's standards such a large engine wouldn't be used in their pickups but rather their heavier duty UD/Hino trucks.
Nothing comes close to the 289 in the Shelby Daytona coupe.
have you heard of the Nissan vk56de?
@@20piecemcchicken93 That's a small block, unfortunately.
I love the uz celica
Wich steel is that ?
Mad max in blue
How does the blue corollas Toyota v8 sound like an old school muscle or LS.. ???? 😍😍😍
I wish ELH and 180 degree headers were mass produced and able to be purchased
I put a 1UZ in a 91 Miata 👍
Share some videos!!!
i'd love a corolla with that setup, it's wonderful.
I've seen some people swap UZs into old Cressidas, probably could do the same to the old RWD Corolla wagons. Header fitment would likely be tricky
that's exactly the goal, i think nick hillman's turbo ls corolla wagon is one of my favorite builds. i think he said he had a custom subframe for his? if he could fit that, i'm sure there's a way to fit this.
Blue Man Group called...
...They didn't leave a message.
You are surrounding the engine with lava.
Let’s see u idle for 5 min in 90f without catching the paint on fire
my biggest concern would be brake lines, not necessarily the paint job
omg this is brutal ! and i like it!
Oh hell yeah, I need one of these for a datsun im looking at. Also your voice sounds so bored 😂
I feel the FRS headers might be overheating the bay
Potentially, but it's all for the sound!
With the FRS headers joining cylinders 1-5 and 3-7 doesn’t seem right because of the firing order.
Surely it should be 1-7 and 3-5 which keeps the pairs 180° rather than 270° and 90°?
It sounds like a big block chevy even though it's only 4.0 Liters haha
cool video :)
Do you happen to have more info on the E36 starting at 4:15, especially the ITB setup? Names, Infos, Sources, everything welcome :)
I can look into that, I believe he is on the 1UZ forced induction page on FB
Hey mate that's my one. ITB setup was on the engine when I got it, but it's 4AGE itbs onto a custom plate mounted to the lower half of the stock manifold.
I will tag you in the description!! Thank you for sharing :^]

I've been looking for a long tube equal length for my ls400 1999 for my Vip build. I might have to relocate and do a tuck radiator and then hopefully source someone to make the headers.
What a beautiful car 😮 and that sound 😊
Tag the owners to these videos
I will try to find out if they have TH-cam accounts; and if they do, I can tag them in the description or see if I can edit them into the video without having to re-upload from scratch
Spaghetti headers!
yummy
😃
:^]
1:19 looks like alot of heat soak though
Worth it
This car sounds like DMX on startup
Hey Im curious if you have a 3UZ swap video on your 4runner? I have a 92 im thinking about swapping!
was not my video, and im not sure if it was a 1uz or 3uz tbh
Wowwwww
Do 1UZ vvti and non-vvti engines use the same header? I have a gs400 that I want headers for.
i do not believe so, i think the exhaust ports and the bolt pattern changed. i could be wrong, though
Hows the heat transfer?
Probably keeps everything nice and toasty lol but ya know
Design me a M50B25 E36BMW equal length long tube header
It sounds ANGRY
Damn this car roars. Sounds sooo fcking good
Knaww nz plates ...heart.
Love it mah bro .....B...E...A....U....tifulllll
The UZs are definitely loved very much down under !
the last set is mine how can i send you a video its running now and sounds awesome!
Hey, I can send you a message on FB! I'm in the 1UZ Forced Induction page on there!
Watching this video all over again to try and rank these noises in my opinion and note which ones to try out, given the chance...
00:10 - Great noise for a toy car - Nice meaty roar
04:05 - Tri-Y a very close second for me! I would totally get it if they made 1st place for someone else!
05:14 - Block huggers sound super mean, love the deep notes. Not the greatest rev sound
02:00 - Boring, ordinary V8 sound. Sounds great while drifting but not on the dyno
03:05 - Pretty ordinary
04:55 - Same...
Nah, that first car sounds like tigers fighting inside an empty room!!😭😭😭😭
Wwwwwoooooowwwww
Where’s the first video from?
Found it in a group on FB
Damn son
Farm truck ftw xD
Um, excuse me?!
Might have to do this when I get a Lexus ls400
Might be a tight squeeze, but with enough time and effort, anything is possible!
Woah that sounds amazing
what een schit car { stront bak }
huh
Wrong lenght
5 inches is average
How do you weld the 4 header pipes to one piece? isn't it hard to get to the center?
You could potentially set up a jig that represents the engine bay and undercarriage. And weld it all together from.there and find some way to slip it into place. Or maybe with some creativity, some strategically placed flanges to allow for disassembly. Not quite sure as of yet
Just buy a collector flange, they make different ones for different merge characteristics. As with all headers, a bit of collector size and length tweaking yeilds dividends, putting the power in the desired RPM range. Seldom do the book numbers come out perfect, but they are a worthwhile starting point.
this guy knows his stuff
Wait was that a 3uz in a holden ?
1UZ 😊
@@Nathan-bv1xu ha seen barra swaps in holdens too .
So much for ls
😂 ρ尺oΜ𝐎ᔕᗰ
swag
Do you bend the pipe? Or just cut straights and have premade bends? Asking as a beginner
Some people bend the pipes and weld them, some people do "pie cut" and weld them together, some people do "mandrel bends" and cut them to size!
