A couple of my favorites in CO are the Cumbres & Toltec Railway, a narrow-gauge steam train starting in either Antonito, CO or Chama, NM, that takes you through some beautiful country and feeds you at the halfway point. Another is Glenwood Springs, CO. You don't often hear of a scenic interstate highway drive, but the one between Denver and Glenwood Springs is one to experience. We have had several great travel experiences in Colorado and know we have more that we want to see and do there.

Glad you got to ride the Million Dollar Highway. There are so many wonderful roads in that part of the state. If construction on 50 ever ends, take Lucille to the Blue Mesa Dam and then ride highway 92 up the north side of the canyon to Crawford. One of the best roads in a state with dozens of great roads.

Most memorable? Taking a Jeep tour out of Ouray to Imogene Pass. 11,114'. Built for mules to get supplies to the mines. I tried to do it on my dual sport bike and chickened out (flatlander) The Jeep tour was awesome. In Ridgway, after taking hwy 62 out of town, notice on the left is a four rail split log fence that runs for seven miles!!! It's the "Double RL Ranch", and the RL is Ralph Lauren. There's cattle and must be millions of acres of land.
Finally, near the enterence of the Black Canyon NP is a road to the right in Cimmeron. It leads to Owl Creek Pass. It's where a lot of True Grit" was filmed. Follow that (mostly gravel) road for 42 miles and it comes out just north of Ridway! It was always one of my motorcycle must do's (dirt bike)

In 1966 or so, my family and 2 others backpacked down to the bottom of the canyon from Tomichi point - the first overlook you stopped. We were completely unprepared and stupid. The park service doesn't allow starts from that point anymore. They had to rescue too many people that used that location. It was a memorable experience though.

I can't thank you enough for the wonderful spectacular trail trip through Box Canyon & the falls. We are actually
In Ouray now, with friends & family riding the trails in our Rzr's. Sadly, on our 2nd day I slipped on loose gravel looking out from Imogene, ended up getting x-ray & now I'm a walking boot. Oblique fracture left ankle. 😥😥. We are from Tennessee & heading home tomorrow. We an on returning, hopefully next year! Safe travels to you guys!!!

We spent the week of the 4th of July 4 years ago in that area. The 4th in Ouray was awesome with fireworks reflecting off the mountains. We also went up to Imogene Pass on a Jeep tour on July 5th. Pretty cool to have a snowball fight with grandkids on the 5th of July at the top.
At Black Canyon National Park did you go down to Crystal Dam on the Gunnison River? There is also two campgrounds down by the river for tent camping.
Take a day trip and go to Marble, CO and then take the jeep tour to the Crystal River Mill. It's a must go destination. Look it up on Google. Then when you get back into Marble go to Slow Groovin BBQ. Food was awesome, amotsphere and service were outstanding.
It was neat to see all the irrigation canals in the Montrose area. That area is called a High Plateau Desert and the Gunnison River supplies all the water for the irrigation to make the area so green.
Your videos are outstanding and I believe the music you choose fits so well with the video. I know you two have to put serious time into them to have such a great result. Great things take time and work. Kudos to the two of you.

Ouray is my favorite place to go in Colorado as a Basecamp. You need to go back later in season, say mid July to end of September, when passes are open and see the other half of the area from the passes in a Jeep. Mind blowing scenery. Spend some time in telluride, eat at Brown Dog Pizza, take the Gondola to the top for spectacular views. Take a Jeep tour of Black Bear Pass. Once past the stair steps, the view of Telluride is amazing. Imogene Pass, Yankee Boy Basin, Last Dollar Hwy, Animas Forks with Engineer Pass are all must do off road adventures next time.

The NP campground is tiny. A couple years ago we stopped to fill water jugs and had to help a Subaru towing a pop-up maneuver over a rock that it got stuck on trying to exit. We boondocked just down the hill from the entrance to the park and had bears behind the RV. Grand Lake area is also awesome with RMNP.

Totally understand the delay to post a travel / destination video. We do have a request - please say when you were there. Something as simple as early May, mid May, or late May is helpful for us trying to plan future trips based on weather and crowd sizes. THX. Also, mule deer run "funny" compared to the whitetail deer that most of us see.

For me, I'm not sure there is a better part of Colorado to explore, Gunnison, Lake City, Ouray, Silverton, taking the jeep trails between those places is pretty darn cool. I got a kick out of your early comment about people being twisted up about the time lag of your videos, we're tagging along for the ride and folks getting twisted up, I'm just happy to live vicariously through your travels, keep up the great videos, enjoy your trips, thanks for letting us tag along.

Totally agree Gary. We take our sXs's on the jeep trails. From Ouray to Silverton, Lake City to Telluride are absolutely amazing. I wondered during our first visit there about 10 years ago or so that it was a quite emotional place for me and my wife. Jointly, we honed in that it was the grandness and scale that was so awesome. Riding the mountain peaks, often well over 13,000 feet was incredible. The scenery, the old mines, the wild flowers and lush grassy basins are stunning.
