If you were using a mod amp do you think the rock a billy mode would be the right choice? Be interesting if you did a video showing the difference from standard strings and flat wound. 😊
It is what he plays on Folsom with a change in the right hand picking position. The lesson is about accessing his flatwound string sound with round wound strings on a gig or session. If you only read the title and watched the first performance you're missing the actual lesson.
I'd like to add another difference between Tele and Esquire. The string tension on an Esquire feels more slack. Almost like on a toploader Tele. This may be caused by the lack of magnetic pull of the neck pickup. Or not. At least that's what I think. Anyway, an Esquire is a very distinctive guitar and has its own character. Somehow it is much more than just a Tele with a missing neck pickup.

Excellent course! Buy it ya'll, you won't regret it! (Like all his other courses) Thanks Jason

Awesome lesson. You’re right about the slap back. Luther played with some reverb and to me sounded more surf guitar sounding. Some reverb and his amp.
Thanks! No reverb though. Just natural reverb from the room
@@JasonLoughlinMusicfor the 50s stuff yeah later on though he was using reverb quite a lot th-cam.com/video/KGuwK9bsx9Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ApSY_txqCJb6UfF_

Are those saddles Glendale?
They are!
Awesome as always man!
Thanks Jeff!
Niiiiiice ❤
I believe for every guitarist theres a "Before" and "After" caged system
Can you tell us something about the guitar? Are those saddle Glendale?
This was my Nash telecaster featured on the cover of my record Peach Crate. I switched out the neck and had it refinished.
@@JasonLoughlinMusic are you able to share where you got the neck? Its killer.

I don’t love amp modelers but I would just use any clean fender tweed sound. Slapback is up to you.
I don’t really do gear videos or comparison stuff here but maybe I’ll put up a YT short at some point
Very interesting dude, thanks
Luther tuned up one step and played with E shape.
I cant learn that stuff, I'd rather just listen to you play...
To each their own
EDIT; I just realized that over in the FULL video, you actually addressed the flatwounds topic! Forgive me.. 🤦🏻♂️
Thats not the way Luther Perkins played the boom chicka rhythm!

That’s not really something you would feel. You were mostly likely just noticing a difference in setup between the two guitars..
❤ super AMAZING sound and Teaching Brother GOD BLESS You All 🙏 kutty saxophone gospel player Chennai India AMEN
Don't you have to much treble in your tutorial?
He uses slap back on the song „I was there when it happened“.
Hahaha ok
