Not all protein is bad for low porosity hair. Personally the only protein that causes overload for me is hydrolyzed wheat protein. You just have to find what works for you .
awww i love this product as a deep conditioner. I only use their conditioner and shampoo I dont use her other products from the line...I think they are phenomenal. I have 3c/4a high porosity hair. A small amount does go a long way. I def understand its not for everyone. One of my FAVORITE low cost deep treatments is the Garnier Fructis Mask that come in the jar. Amazing when used with heat (I only use heat to condition).
I have been using this product exclusively for the past 4-5 months. This product has caused my hair to fall out and break off. My hair is coming out like crazy. I really tried to overlook this issue, but the sides of my 4c once full head of hair have fallen out. I used the whole hair care line!!!!!

@@jaichanellie Yeah that’s a bummer. You’d think because it was the “featured” ingredient on the jar that it’d be much higher on the ingredient list. I definitely wanted to get my monies worth so what I do is use a moisturizing rinse out conditioner and just leave some of it in while applying her DC so my hair feels moisturized after rinsing. I layer the CRN Moroccan Pear Conditioning Custard and the MH plumping DC . Does the trick every time. Not sure if I’ll be repurchasing because it’s not hydrating enough for me.
Thanks for your honesty! I like Melanin products but the oil in particular gave me a burned smell. Smoky. Very strange. The fragrance they use probably reacts to my body differently or something which is a shame because I really liked the oil but had to return.

I was surprised at how well the deep conditioner worked for me I thought I would love the shampoo but I did not. The shampoo was good I just have to get used to it I had a sore inflamed scalp and after using all her products my hair and scalp had a noticeable improvement I'm glad I decided to purchase most of the line with the exception of the leave in.
@@jaichanellie I used a medicated shampoo to clarify before a protective style it was called Nizoral and it was just too harsh for my scalp. Lol I now hate the shampoo but I’m gonna finish it.
I would not buy this deep conditioner cause it's too high to buy fr... like no ma'am... ima stick to my cantu deep treatment masque and Dr. Miracle and urban hydration.

I also pre ordered in April and it took months of course. I felt like the slip for the DC was not great, and same experience you had for the clumping. However my hair itself feels very soft, moisturized, and nourished after using it. I'm still unsure if I'll buy it again. It does feel like food for the hair but there are other products that achieve the same or better results for half the price so I'm just struggling with this one. I will say I'm a low porosity, protein sensitive girl as well but the multi use leave in is everything to my hair. The DC I just expected to perform a lot more than it did.
Exactly this, Brittany!!! You hit it right on the nail with expectations for the slip and overall performance for the product. I just expected more, especially for the ingredient list and price point. But my hair felt the same, nourished and moisturized. It’s so interesting that we can be opposite porosities (I’m high) but experience the same thing for certain products. Y’all know I hated the leave-in 🤣 but I’m glad it works well for you! Idky but my hair doesn’t feel moisturized using this DC. I was disappointed by that esp given that one of the star ingredients was hyaluronic acid.
