That LSU 3rd & 17 with two minutes left in the game was remarkable. Most coaches get conservative and run a draw or a screen bc they’re on the road and up by 6. Coach O and the staff stayed aggressive and they deserve a lot of credit.

Naw Man LSU was still brand new to the offense and raw and there defense was not fully developed. Texas still had some confidence at the time and no injurys. i see texas fans make this excuse all the time i guarantee you if LSU plays Texas ten games later Texas doesnt even sniff the 50 yard line.
Texas tried everything non-football related in the hopes of keeping the game close: 1) Disabling the A/C units in LSU's locker room, 2) Spreading the rumor that K'Lavon Chaisson's mom had a medical emergency before the game (Texas and LSU were locked in a nasty recruiting battle for him in high school), 3) Making LSU walk 3 blocks to the stadium and lining Texas fans up 3 feet from the players to try and intimidate them, 4) seated LSU fans in the nosebleed section, which SEC schools wouldn't even do, and made available only half the tickets that were offered to Louisiana Tech just the week prior.

That was the game where I was introduced to Joe Burrow. I didn’t know who he was before this. My dad’s side of the family are Longhorns fans BTW. After seeing Burrow torch that team, I knew he was gonna be something special and probably end up in the pros, which would eventually become a reality months after winning the national title.

One of the few games I've been to in person and boy was it exciting. The stadium was absolutely packed and the crowds were electric. That one game made the Texas student pass absolutely worth it.

That year was the most magical year for being an LSU fan. I stayed humble until the last 3 games of the season including the BCS and knew they were unbeatable.
We had the game winning TD but Ingram dropped the wide open pass about 3 yards out. It wouldn’t have mattered if we won though, LSU would have just “had to figure out who they were” and our win wouldn’t count to anyone but Texas fans. That’s just how it goes around here🤷🏻♂️
