- Freddy Fazbear is the central antagonist of most of the FNAF games and the most prominent character from creator Scott Cawthon's massive roster of animatronics. He even carries the Fazbear Entertinment name and is the poster child for their various restaurants. There have been many versions of Freddy over the years and he appears in some for in every Five Nights at Freddy's game. In this video we look at the history behind this animatronic, some key facts and theories as well as checking out his counterparts. Fun fact: The creepy music that plays when the power runs out is actually built into Freddy and is supposed to calm the children when the power goes out.
Imagine being a young child and the lights go out
You try and find your mother but bump into something, a metal statue almost. You look up and see glowing eyes which slowly move down to look at you
Then the music starts playing as you feel a cold, metal hand touch your shoulder

If he succeeds, there will be a crowd cheering for him, but if he loses, death may be a consequence. When Freddy plays the song it is most likely 5AM and it is now either the cheering children and the grandfather clock signaling your victory, or the jumpscare of a posessed robot. Quite fitting, I think

As a person who grew up with Chuck E. Cheese and those horrifying animatronics I am actually surprised it took so long for someone to make a horror game like Scott did. And now it’s huge, kinda proud of that. Whether you like Scott or not, the games are great and the lore is so expansive and amazing.

Freddy’s design actually came from a previous character of Scott’s, a beaver from one of his old games. They have basically the same head

I think it should be mentioned that their is an alternate way to track freddy. each time freddy moves, he laughs. he laughs 4 times before reaching east hall corner, and once he reaches there he doesn't appear in your doorway he goes straight in.
use that to your advantage in fnaf 1 when you next play it.
It is still very astonishing that I am able to go into you office immediately when being in cam 4b.
Unlike Bonnie or Chica, I can not be spotted at the door or window.

The idea of Freddy playing music when the power goes out being an intentional design choice by his creators is a small yet telling detail of the dire situation the Pizzeria was in during FNAF 1.
The person who voiced Freddy in FNAF AR is actually tim Simmons. who also voiced nightmare Freddy in ultimate custom night and would later appear in bendy and the dark revival to voice creepy daddy issues janitor: Wilson Arch.

I think I can explain why the first Freddy and withered Freddy look so different. At chuck-e cheese's they used to make really amazing animatronic suits but when the budget got lower they couldn't keep up to date on the better suits so they started making cheaper wood and foam suits in place of the old fiber glass and plastic. leaving much more simple edged faces and skinnier bodies. I know you're probably asking "why is this important?" This shows us that Fazbear's was nearly bankrupt between fnaf1 and 2.
I don't know how this could help but I hope it comes of use to someone!
Here is the short explanation: FNAF 2 takes place in 1987, FNAF 1 takes place in 1993.

Fun Fact: It was not the spring locks that killed the crying child, considering no one was in the suit as we see in the animation. Think of it like this, the “spring-lock” suit is called this because the original endo skeleton in FredBear can be pushed to the back of the animatronic suit so a human can get in, a spring simply locks and is supposed to hold the skeleton in place when a human is in the suit, therefore, it couldn’t have been the spring locks fault.
the tears activated the springlocks, causing the jaw to snap down and onto the childs neck
I feel like design wise, to me personally Funtime Freddy seems heavily based off of Rolfe the Wolf, from showbiz pizza. They share the puppet thing, but also specifically on the right hand, and in addition the hand-puppets interact as their own entities/characters in both

My more favored voicelines from Nightmare Fredbear are: "This time, there is more than an illusion to fear," as well as, "We know who our friends are, and you are NOT one of them." Also, Mike failed to mention the teeth lining his midsection. Then again, this is likely part of the "exxagerated features."
Fun fact: Molten Freddy used to be a funtime version of Fredbear, but was cut out. However, his laugh is reused.

Theres no longer debates, that's canonically the bite of 83. Scott himself has confirmed it on multiple occasions, and the TV in the game shows 'Fredbear and Friends, 1983'

Also the reason the blueprints for the funtimes have child inside is because they were built to wait until there was only one child in the room and then split in half and a claw would emerge from the animatronic’s stomach and capture the child and extract its remnant for William Afton to use for his experiments.
