Well, anyone who has lived in this area for a long time as I have except for some years living in other states, could tell you what life was like in the 70s to 2000s. I did came back here to retire. My comment is where the area west of I 95 was nothing but swamp. Some of the dryland for actually cattle but you don’t see that anymore. I’m talking about Brahma cows the ones with a humpback. Anyway, I hear a lot of stories about people who live in that area that find occasional rats or snake in their area. Florida is also known for and it’s more Wilder areas you will see cougars which is indigenous to Florida.. and of course, if you live on a canal or in some cases in that area where there might be a lake or a pond, let’s not forget gators.. Don’t let your dogs out unless you have a fence and don’t let your kids around a canal. I live in Melbourne and trust me. Viera is a 0:100:100:10 nice place to go shopping go to restaurants etc. but I wouldn’t live in that area. It’s too congested it’s too commercialized. I love sitting here. Yes it’s hot but you get used to it. For me I prefer that then living in areas where I have lived that’s snowed in October and you didn’t see solid ground again until April. Never again. I’m a true Florida girl, born and raised here wouldn’t change it for the world. The only thing I ask, is that the northern attitude of politics stay in the north and not come down here and ruin our state. Sorry if that offended some of you just how I feel.
It's a shame florida is becoming as expensive as new York, almost, prices through the roof. On basically everything. Expensive labor and roofing, ripping people off, it's insane what I am seeing. Super expensive insurance, on homes and cars. What happened to this state. Where is the government to see and assist in this crises.
What I can say, if you want quality: 1) Healthcare 2) Construction / repairs 3) Food 4) Activities Then you better go to Tampa, Miami, or Orlando (in that order). Viera is nice on the inside, but its supported by Jim and Bob repairs. Health First is the WORST medical system possible.
People boat, ski, swim in the rivers all of the time. Open rivers are not where you typically find gators. They prefer lakes, ponds and more quiet canals.
Thanks David, awesome video...
Thank you!

Are there snakes in Viera?
Why would you want riverfront views in Florida when there are alligators in the rivers?
