Saive was hot for a while,he would destroy any half long ball with his forehand. Couldn't block with his bh to save his life which is why he ended up as an away from the table looper like Appelgren despite having crazy short game. His game was really uneven. Rumor has it he invented the banana flick in a practice but never used it in a match which seems plausible 'cause he did destroy pushes even with his bh.
Waldner injured his finger during this match but I still have to give credit to Saive, he played excellent here.
He is so happy)
Got to give Saive some cred. Played really good. 93/94 he was really good. But Waldner is the goat.

Waldner was in bad mood and lacked confidence. He could have won that match easily had he had some concentration!
I love Jan Ove Waldner's style,but I can't play like him.
Deux maestros du ping

Saive; nappy power
Did Saive really have to scream at every single point he won?
Yes, he did. That's the way you're extracting the best of yourself when you feel in a corner. Not really elegant, but efficient...
I think you know nothing about sport. Or about human beings, either...
Tpday people say the same about Harimoto. But man, that is so fkin releasing! Do it man you won't regret. Scream for me in game
mind you, glue, smaller faster ball
