Good instructions- worked for me, thanks. The hardest part was to remove the battery from the housing. Need to patiently heat it again and again from the backside. I would recommend to fully discharge the old battery before starting this project.
Those were my exacts words. I did my Ipad Air today. Battery caught fire because i punctured it, but snuff out quickly because i discharge the battery.
Excellent video, is very helpful. I have one question, was there adhesive tape under battery? Or did you youst dry blow it cause the battery itself got a bit sticky?
PLease I'm traying to change both cells dryed for another two new. Is very confused the (+ and -) mark on the original battery. From top the battery have ( + -) marks, but from the bottom are inverted... I need to know the + , - polarity of the power connector. In a view from "above" 7:19 of the video (camera in the left of the image) (charging port at the right of the screen) the order is positive-negative from left to right or the other way around? I think in the top label the polarity indicated matches with the conector's polarity, and from bottom of the battery the polarity marks refers to the cell´s polarity, is it correct?
Thanks for helping me out. Your iPad there looks exactly like mine most of the videos were missing another metal guard below the other 4 screw guard. I just wasn't sure what to do there and put everything back together and watched this video. I got the battery in and went through a few issues however it seems to be working good now. I'm happy the item was given to me and I'd do this to any future iPad I get.
You put the plastic on the conncetor to make sure there was no shortening right? Is it hard making the connection for the new battery? It was unfortunately not shown in the video - beside that great video!
hello. i put the plastic piece because sometimes i pressed power button. It is easier to work if you remove the adhesive tape from the charging port. thank you.
i have an iPad Air 2; and it’s still in immaculate condition after buying it in 2015. The problem is….. it’s stuck in recovery mode. It’s been like that for around 5 years now. How do i get it working again without using a Apple laptop or any other laptop 💻 I’ve tried using my iPad Pro; but as iPads are not real computers, this method doesn’t seem to work. Have any other ideas?? i did take it to the Apple Store in Southampton; but they wanted to keep it for at least 3 weeks. i wonder why? So i took it back home. On TH-cam, it only takes around 30 seconds to get it out of recovery mode. It’s just a shame that i cannot get hold of a Apple Mac 🖥️ or laptop 💻 Friday 24th February 2023.
djpaulhannon I think battery problem but sometimes charging IC problem but you should try hard reset first home button and power button press 10 seconds together.
Have done a hard reset but didn’t solve the problem. Is it easy to have damaged something while replacing the battery? Are there common mistakes that happen? This was my first time trying this repair.
How long should an IPad Air 2 battery lasts? Benchmark. My battery used to last 7 hours continuous usage, now it’s 4 hours. Same usage manner - 60 percent on TH-cam, 40 percent reading and making notes. It’s 25 percent of battery juice for every hour.
Andrey Ivanov yes. If you replace the adhesive it’s more strong , but sometimes aftermarket adhesives it’s too weak so always I use glue. try t7000 glue it’s really good.

Carlson Tan I’m having a similar problem , how did u fix it ? Is there a replacement for the memory ? And do u loose all the data if you don’t back up the device ?
Just try using a higher wattage charger to trigger the charge. Once you’re out of the initial loop, just go back to your normal charger. This works for me whenever I run completely out of battery and get into this reboot loop. Hope it helps.

Ray-J King yes it has some adhesive tape. When you use hot air blow you can take off more easily or use methanol( methyl alcohol),(wood alcohol).
Fix D.I.Y Ok I see, that's very good to know. Thank you for your very informative response. :)

Do NOT! cut deep from the edges. Just f***ed up my digitizer - be extra careful with the bottom right corner!
How much is it?
very tricky
I don’t have a heat gun , what other ways can I heat the adhesive?
How about hair dryer try that one.
How dangerous is it to remove the battery?
djpaulhannon when you remove the battery make warm and use alcohol.
I would have replaced the adhesive strips u der the battery and applied new glue/adhesive when placing the screen back down as there isn't any screws.
JunkDNA Reviews mainboard and battery connect has one screw. Normally new battery has adhesive.
I agreethat new adhesive should be used to stick the display down to the case for a complete repair.
