    So I've lightened some rifle springs on few of my guns. But you should really do a drop test to insure the gun doesn't fire with the lighter spring. Bounce it a few times on the butt stock, while unloaded of coarse. Some guns will go off with lighter springs. Video makers should always include this 'warning' when modifying triggers/springs.

      No worries just tighten screw to increase pressure till it won't slam fire, SIMPLE don't let safety Sally's with no true answers to scare you into not trying something.

    I like the heavy duty lifetime factory spring so I cut it just a bit to get a lighter pull.. make sure you're set adjustment is loose so you can tighten it more if need to.

    ok bud do you sell different spring tensions? my ruger American predator is pulling 4lb 6oz with the adjustment grub screw almost all the way out which is totally unacceptable. id love to get it around 1.8lb. I was thinking about cutting a couple coils off the spring and sanding the burr off but if you can guarantee I can reduce my trigger pull weight by 2lb I will try your spring out. is your spring flat ground like the factory ruger spring?

      Did you get it? I know your response was a year ago but I just picked up a ranch 7.62x39 and installed this spring. It went from 3.9lbs with the adjustment screw all the way out to 2.1lbs with it all the way in. Super crisp, no creep at all.

      @@eaznutts5714 just picked up the ranch in 7.62x39 my self. How do you like the spring? Btw do you have any issues with the stock 5 round mag not seating all the way in the well. Mine dips just a little in the front and causes a round to not feed unless I hold the mag tight

    • @eaznutts5714
      @eaznutts5714 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Theis124 the spring made all the difference for me, it was the cheapest trigger job for any of my rifles. My groups with red army standard went from 2" to 1.25 and with handloads they're under a inch at 100yds.
      As for the magazine not catching....when my rifle was new i recall a few times when it didn't quite catch without a little extra push when inserting. It helped to put the front edge in then rock it into the well. After a solid break in period it hasn't done it since. I mainly use a "pro mag" 10 rounder now, the extra length is great, and it still clears the table when using bags for rests. And it looks cool.....
      Another small issue i had was barrel to stock clearance. It cleared with a very uniform gap on the sides, it was at the very front of the stock under the barrel that came into contact when using bags or on a bipod.
      Good luck.

      @@Theis124 Yep, 10 rounder is from "Pro Mag Industries". I bought it from the local "Big 5 Sporting Goods", was 2 only dollars cheaper online. It was 10 or so cheaper than the ruger brand, it has performed flawless from day 1. Let me know if you have any more questions, I'll answer them if I can. I've put over 800 rounds thru mine with almost every available brand i could get my hands on.

    • @509Gman
      @509Gman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I almost don’t feel comfortable with it only adjusted out as far as it would go. I don’t get people wanting ounces light triggers in hunting rifles. If you’re accuracy ain’t there, I don’t think you can blame a slightly heavier trigger (sloppy, gritty, creepy sure, but at a certain point you gotta start looking to the nut behind the butt).

      @@rileyalexander9715 Yes, on the older ruger americans you can remove the setscrew and the spring will come out through the hole. That's the way my .270 is. It consistently breaks at 1.6 lbs. They manufacture the newer ones so the spring comes out by removing the trigger as seen in the video. I've got a ruger american rimfire .22mag, removed the spring and it breaks at 1.2 (Its almost too light for hunting but is a tack driver). My ruger american ranch 300 blackout breaks at 1.5 or 1.6. Ive drop tested all of them and banged them around and have never had it go off.
      I also did this to a friends ruger american 308. His had an unusually high trigger pull though. He went from shooting like crap because he was yanking the trigger to nailing deer exactly where he was aiming at. Just always be sure to bump test your gun unloaded to make sure you wont have any accidental discharges if you mess with the trigger.
