These last two walks are absolute treasures. I will bookmark and return to them, repeatedly. There is always something to see! Such a variety-Trees, streams, stone walls, architecture, animals, views… ***And thank you for stopping and pausing along the way, as a viewer would do if taking the walk in reality. So soothing. In so many walking videos the folks just keep the camera pointed straight ahead and tear along, never stoping to smell the roses….
Thank you for the walk on the tow path. I never new those gates had a name. My wife and I have walked the paths and found the name of the other devices to get over the fences Stiles. I have been enjoying your videos while in lockdown in the USA.
Phil. All these lovely comments. Have so enjoyed your walks, the views and especially the commentary. You know you’ve now got to continue the walks at places you stop at, when cruising restarts...?
I know everybody is tired of the lockdown but I certainly have enjoyed the walking vlogs you've been posting. Gives a very different perspective of the beautiful, English countryside then from the canals. Thank you.
I too have a problem getting over stiles. It’s the legs. They don’t work as well as they used to. I don’t know when you filmed this, but around here, all the mud has dried up. Lovely houses and of course, daffodils are very plentiful at the moment. I think this is the third walk you’ve done in this very pretty area and each was very enjoyable. Quite a number of ponds in the area. Must be naturally wet. I suppose it’s nice that you can’t move your boat very far otherwise you wouldn’t have seen this beautiful area. And neither would I, so thanks for showing.
Thank you Phill, thoroughly enjoyed your walk, love the stone walls and views. The three sheep are Herdwicks. The well protected hen run is due to the threat of avian flu, all poultry have been ordered to be shut from 14 Dec to the 31st March. Take care.
Brilliantly achieved Phil as always. I feel fitter going on the walk with you. I hope your able to cope with restrictions on boat movement for the time being. Let's hope the CRT can fix the broken culvert in time for lockdown to be lifted then we all can be the lucky recipient's of more of your excellent cruising vlogs. Say ' meow to Midge & Puska for me. Big hug for your boat sorry cannot remember her name. Keep safe dry warm and virus free.
Lovely to see my favourite sheep, Herdwicks. Beatrix Potter kept them. They are very tough and so are their fleeces.I'm hooked on your gorgeous walks, they are making me rest and relax. Thanks so much.
These are so interesting, I'm really enjoying your surroundings and architecture. As much as I enjoy the canal, your walks in the hills and around towns are even more beautiful and informative! Signing up for patreon as a token of my appreciation. Many Thanks Phil!
Lots of humour in this one Phil, made me laugh out loud several times :) I'd love to see some metal detecting videos on this channel, been interested in trying that out myself since watching the excellent comedy series Detectionists. Great walk and very relaxing to watch.
Nice walk.. thx for taking us along... the circular structure looked like the footings of an old silo.. then trees sprung up in the middle. There was something just like it where I grew up, back in the early 50s
I did not mean to laugh at you and the Bird incident. But it has happened to us all at some point in time. And, yes, it was not funny when it happened to me. I did enjoy the entire video. Absolutely beautiful villages and countryside. The old stonework is amazing and displays true workmanship. The public foot paths, like the canals, are things to be treasured and appreciated. Thank you for sharing your walk with us.
Wonderful walk...its so special to have right of way on private land..It provides some wonderful scenery ,things you don't see on the busier byways.. I had to watch this one ..you posted it on my birthday..the 2nd I turned 74! I think ill consider it a belated gift. 😊 Thank you i enjoyed this a great deal..😊 You really could very rarely take a walk like this in this country...most dont allow any trespassing on properties... Thanks again.😊 Excluding the birdypoo..ofcourse.sorry about that!!😄 I do enjoy the openness of your videos..you let us see life..and experiences that are genuine..wonderful!!!
@@NarrowboatJourneys oh but this Country is huge and there are miles and miles of public lands to see? There is just no allowance on private properties to speak of...sorry if that statement was misleading ..?
Another lovely walk in wonderful countryside, though I suspect you have the gift of finding glorious walks wherever you happen to moor up... Worth doing this walk just to see the Random Apple Co and veloceraptor signs!
Thank you. I always like to explore beyond the canal on my travels. Not had a camera that could record a walk smoothly until now so many walks have gone unrecorded!
Such a lovely walk Phil. I couldn’t count the number of times I said out loud ‘what a gorgeous place’ as you took us along with you and such a peaceful journey, not packed with other people. I don’t know Cheshire - but goodness there are some lovely areas and the fabulous houses ....... what a thoroughly enjoyable vlog. Thank you! Missing Bushka and Midge though.
Another lovely walking vlog!! Stunning countryside and so peaceful!! We were looking out again for our moored boat but right at the end you veered away from Bollington Wharf..... we could see it vaguely in the distance.... hoping the canal closure at bridge 38 ia sorted before the 12th April as we wont be going anywhere!! X
G'day to you. I am watching this for the second time. I like the walk Vlogs you are doing. The English countryside is so different Down here in Australia. Especially where I live near the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. I enjoyed the walk with you.
Thank you. The oldest coins I have found were about 1770's George the third. Very corroded though. Nothing Roman yet... Apart from a few interesting bits there is always a lot of junk metal.
At age 4 during The War I kept getting spanked for going in the stream ruining leather shoes. Mum, " why? Knowing you will get spanked?". Me, with quivering lip, " I guess it is worth it!
@@NarrowboatJourneys lol! No. They are fish. They are the easiest ones to catch in lakes. I love your videos. I guess if you wanted to pick up fishing, you would have done it a long time ago. Sorry about the bird poop. I guess that comes with the Territory. Lol!

It is very nice around here but I don't like being unable to move, and I'm hoping that I won't have to turn around and go back again.
Thanks for the walk! I'm fascinated by the stone walls and the right-of-way paths.

Utterly delightful.
Lovely 😊
Thanks for sharing this lovely walk. You are very fortunate to have so many walking paths. None around here, sadly, except for roads and sidewalks.
At 5:26 that gate needs a wee bit of oil on the hinges.

@@NarrowboatJourneys oh but this Country is huge and there are miles and miles of public lands to see? There is just no allowance on private properties to speak of...sorry if that statement was misleading ..?
We're only allowed on private land if there is an ancient right of way crossing it. Fortunately there are many such paths.

I think it’s the Isles of Scilly flag, nice video looks a nice peaceful walk 👍
It was the Isles of Scilly flag.
Fabulous walk. Hope you had your wellies on in all that mud. Thank you for taking us with you. Ps how are the cats?
Thank you. I was one of the few wearing wellies. Cats are fine. :-)
A lovely walk, thank you :-)
Flag is for the isles of scilly
Well done! It is the Scilly Isles flag. I searched but could not find it.
Thank you for a great walk through for me is inaccessible countryside. I really must get a hover mode for my mobility scooter!
Beaut...cheers Phil
What a wonderful walk. I tried to look up that flag, but couldn't find it.

Thanks for sharing. I have to ask. In Mid-American we usually catch bluegill and crappie out of our ponds and lakes. What do you usually catch?
Bluegill and crappie? Are these diseases or something? I don't fish. 😉

Carp fishing in lakes is popular, because they grow very large. But many other types of fish as well.
