    Bliss Devlog #4 Why I switched over to Cascadeur
    Summary: Cascadeur it's the most User Friendly program for 3D animation that I know of. It helped me improve my animations and workflow for game development a lot. It is physics based. Their rigging system is super good, fast and easy to set up. You'll get full IK/FK controls in your rigs. The documentation is good and easy to understand. You can polish your animations with a click of a button. There are many helpful tools that help you make better animations, The devs are awesome :D And guess what!? it's free!
    Music:
    Titan Souls OST - Forest Songs
    Susumu Hirasawa - A Drop Filled With Memories
    Berserk soundtrack - 9 Forces (TV version)
    07 - Amethyst.wmv
    Dan Romer - now that this old world is ending

    It looks great man.. You are becoming an awesome animator. Keep it up!! Also, I've been wanting to try out Cascadeur for a long time now. But as with you, I can't be bothered with learning yet another program, I'm just getting into blender now as we speak.. So it will have to wait.. Great devlog dude. Keep up the good work!

    May I ask how you animate cloth in Cascadeur ?

  • @derdinne
    @derdinne ปีที่แล้ว +2

    There is only one big deficiency in the cascadeur, which is the inability to make parametric adjustments. For example, in Maya, I can parametrically enter where the steps will step, I can capture the place I need to capture with a "snap".
    But there is no parametric adjustment in cascaduer, there are no features such as "snap" that make the job easier, or I couldn't see it.
    It is a very useful program if you are going to do business by eye, but it is impossible if you are going to work in parametric details.
    Or graph editor is very useless, i couldn't set like in Maya.
    Please correct me if I'm wrong, or let me know if there are tools I can make parametric adjustments. Thank you.

    • @ComplexAce
      @ComplexAce ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a transform panel aside and the node editor, altho I haven't gotten into nodes, you can check the transform panel which lets you control the local or global transform of anything you select

    • @derdinne
      @derdinne ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ComplexAce Thank you your the answer, but i'm continuing project with Maya. When i'm done i'll look into place that you told me.

    • @ComplexAce
      @ComplexAce ปีที่แล้ว

      @@derdinne Understandable, I usually use a hybrid workflow between Blender and Cas, Case for the base animation and Blender for the details, I can export the keyframes without baking so I don't see why not, you can look into that as well
      also I heard they're making plugins, maybe there's one for Maya

    so you rig your characters directly in cascadeur ?

  • @the_clown
    @the_clown 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The project is great... sorry great would be an understatement but I still wonder because most Devs use it but why bother to manually animate your character cloth physics when you can just add physics properties so it moves on its own and just add a collision property so it doesn't pass through the characters body. Sorry this is a comment for the first Dev log but I thought you wouldn't see it if I just left it there

    I always wanted to get into animation but rigging , skinning always made me lose motivation.
    In your future videos could you make videos working with blender and cascadeur for animation.
    importing animation , exporting animation, exporting blender character to cascadeur etc.

  • @PDilling
    @PDilling 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Have you ever had an issue with cascadeur not recognizing your model, because I have been stuck at how to import a character to the program for months. It feels that no matter what I do the program just flat out refuses to recognize my FBX model. It's so frustrating, I feel like I am the only person in the world that can't make it work. XD

  • @ivanm.612
    @ivanm.612 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yes looks great but their rigging is not good. You use the auto mapping for humanoids but for every creature you have to map by hand which can also lead to use more joints than you are allowed in the free version. Also one still needs blender for skinning and Animation correction. The docs are also bad. And I dont like the 100K revenue with some complex license... Lets see where the future goes.

    If possible, please remix your audio with the music pulled way back. With how fast you're talking, the lack of CC, and the loud music, it's nearly impossible to follow what you're saying.
