I recommend getting a week thread locker for the hot shoe mount screws as most people end up over tightening them cos they get fed up with it constantly getting loose from the threads moving
Hey man, Nice video! I have the previous version of the TTArtisans light meter I bought earlier last year and it works amazingly. Even though most of my cameras' light meters work fine, I like this one very much, and I think that this thing is a must have accessory for anyone who shoots film. The exposures are always correct. There are just some minor problems with mine. The shoe is pretty tight and doesn't come off easily once fitted into any camera's hot shoe mount and the screw plate threads were gone within my first roll. Those are the only two problems with quality control in it's manufacturing for me. I hope they do resolve these. So I carry mine in my pocket whenever I need it. But that actually is easier to me. Just pull it out, point at the scene, meter, shoot. Quick and easy. Cheers!
Bought one three years ago for my Ukranian cameras and loved its simplicity and design as an engineer, the two cold shoe screws came undone and can’t find the plate, so bought another one, very well made and love it on my vintage cameras and Nikon F2 and all of my other old film cameras
you could also get your lightmeter repaired should not cost you more then 150-180. That way you never need a lightmeter or lose your immersive experience. hope that helps.
I would strongly suggest a lightmeter that screws onto the hotshoe. Not all hotshoes have the same hight, so on half of my cameras it sits so lose that it will simply fall off when the camera is tilted backwards.
So far they're solid! I've had a few people below in the comments offer other solves for this issue as well. But as of a few months later, mine is still great!
Can confirm, my ttartisans meter screws snapped with almost zero force. If it lives on one camera with one placement, it’s fine. If you have to adjust it even once a week for your cams, it won’t last 2 weeks. Also the coin cell dies every 6 weeks. Ended up buying a Doomo Meter S for like $20 more, and found it much nicer to use, smaller, and charges with USBC. Buy once, cry once. The TTArtisan ain’t built to last.
I damaged 2 precious films becouse of this shit product.this Lightmeter is shit ….I’ve checked with my digital aswell and every time was overexposure .
That pic of the Grinch goes hard
Thank you king🙏
I've been eyeing this puppy for a while, may have to pull the trigger. Great vid and pics!

Great review. Still a tad worried about that shoe issue.
BYW, you are really hitting your stride video-wise: funny and engaging without being snarky.

I cannot see the + or - sign out on direct sun light
Use some velcro tape if the hotshoe breaks

Height
Are the hot meter screws still holding up? I’m tired of grabbing my phone meter.
