It cracks me up that the late 90s SLRs are essentially the culmination of over a 100 years of film photography evolution and can produce the best possible images, but often go for a fraction of the price because of less desirable aesthetics. Perfect situation for a cheapskate like myself.

A couple of good points. Very click batey with the M6 that you don’t even own or show in video. Then to say most hated camera? We didn’t hear you talk about that. I’d also say I would notice a Rebel and other SLR cameras a lot more than an M6. People who don’t have a Leica often tend to hate on Leica. Jealousy or is there an actual reason as many just diss them without anything to say other than cost…. Tell me if I’m not being fair?

I really should buy one of those EF mount film cameras, since I also use EF mount glass on my modern mirrorless with an adapter.

As a xpan owner I love mines and just like a unfaithful ex. I’ll be cheating by cropping photos to make it look like I shot with it.

love my EOS cameras got three of them. great for hiking, or just chucking in a rucksack.

Manual cameras will "always work" unlike 90s eletronics in these cameras. Thats a reason for alot of people who skip on these newer film cameras.

What was the first camera you learned to use?

I got my Canon Rebel 2000 at a thrift store in 2019 for $10. Are there prettier cameras? Sure, but this is the one I learned SLR photography on and it is my buddy now :)

Forests in sunny conditions can be pretty challenging to shoot. Bright highlights and very deep shadows.

Since I've found my old family album, with a few photos even older than 100 years, I have this idea of creating my own family album. I really want to use my grandpa's old camera and maybe even try to use some expired black and white film, to some kind of imitate the imperfections which can be found while looking at those old shots and of course add something from myself. I'm really looking forward to get this project started. I mean to document the life and look of our family like we used to? It may actually come out really awesome

I just thrifted a Kodak Advantix f600 from my local antique store for about 10 and am considering ordering some expired film from eBay to play with after I call around to see what places are still developing APS film. I wanted to do a little research and should’ve before to decide if it was worth the impulse buy or not. And it being an intro camera for my vintage camera collection, I think it’s a fair beginner camera since I’m unfamiliar with point and shoot and really the photography world period. I really love and enjoy vintage quality photos. The quality may not be ideal to most who enjoy photography now, but I love the resolution and exposure depths you get in vintage cameras. So for me, everything about the way these photos came out convinced me to play with the point and shoot cameras and risk it. I’m in it for the experimentation of vintage photography anyways, and I think point and shoots are great to learn as a beginner vintage camera fan. If you or anyone have any vintage cameras or type of film I should eventually look into I’d love suggestions! Real excited to play with my Kodak f600

Panos are great, and not a gimmick. Contax TVS I has this feature and I love it! Totally different and more interesting aspect ratio.
