Your class is so thorough and it helped me finally complete a slipcover for a sofa and chaise. I know how to do cushions but the body of the sofa has challenged me. Thank you.
@@sewndebisdream6953 HELLO! thanks so much for your reply. I wasn't sure if anyone would see my comment! Do you know how I can buy her video? If it gives more needed information, I'm happy to buy one too! 🙂
Not sure if you can get it anymore. I bought mine 7 years or more ago and it was 29.95. Talked to Liz on the phone once and she was so nice. Sorry I can't be of anymore help.
Love the violin solo!!! Sounds just like my daughter playing! I am checking all these videos to learn to do slipcover for our sectional sofa. Thanks for you video!!!
You are wonderful to share all your knowledge! I loved watching this and learned so much! God bless you!!. Your personality makes me smile, AND I think i have the confidence to give it a go.
Hello! I've watched this several times and having trouble with a few things. Can anyone give me a couple of good examples of "stitch in the ditch?" If you bought her video, does it give more detailed instructions than this video? Thanks!
How much cording for a large sofa with 2 large cushions. I am having a go at making a slipcover using queen size hotel quality flat sheets I got for $5.00 each from a thrift store. If I need more I will just shop for another white flat sheet. Wanted to practice on something cheaper before buying duck.
You’re so sweet and lovely, so good at explaining. I don’t have a sewing machine and have not used one since 1985. You mentioned how much people pay you for your services. You are most definitely NOT in California, so which type of site, local publication , etc. Do you advertise your services so that I could find something similar?
If you live in the USA, there are some regions where it is illegal to put anything in a mailbox. Ask your local authorities. I discovered this when distributing fliers for my missing puppy. It is best to ask a local shop if you can display something in their window or elsewhere. My regional grocery stores place a large corkboard near the entry for customer advertisements. I snuck into the pet food section anyway and taped up several of my fliers. It was that misdemeanor that succeeded. A young woman who lived several miles away saw my pet aisle flier and phoned me. She identified the dog thieves and the police helped me retrieve him. He lived to a ripe old age. Now I have three. I'm watching this slipcover video because my dogs appreciate the comfort of a sofa and they are my family. I'll be shopping for a fabric that is machine washable and will release dog hair with the minimum of persuasion. A velour hangs on to pet fur like a long lost friend. I would appreciate advice on fabric blend and weave. I make a great box cushion so I'm confident I can tackle a very basic sofa.
The violin is played by a 7 year old and the music stops a few minutes in. It’s worth watching the video. I recommend serging (best choice), pinking the edges with pinking shears or zig zagging the edges if you plan on washing the slipcover.
Just found you how can I make. A cover for alive seat that fits in my travel trailer I am going to live in . It makes a small bed . Bottom cushions are attached and back cushions are also attached but looks seperate also want to use cording thanks Carol fla
Would like to know if you use the " Dual Duty " thread and do you always prewash the fabric without soap, warm water and dry on high until lightly damp. And is one yard of the multi yardage for the piping?
Thea Hopson We just had Needles and Shears make us a slipcover using photos and measurements we took. Google them. In California. They did a super job, very professional. Imk if you want more info.
Yes, glad to. Here's the link: www.needleandshears.com/ They work entirely from pictures and your measurements. We started by requesting fabric samples. Once you pick your fabric, you order the slipcover and then they start working with you to get the info they need. I could not believe how well it fit. It's quite well done!
Good heavens. I wanted to watch this video from start to finish, but the non stop music was sooooo grating and annoying I had to stop watching after about 3 minutes. What a shame you thought your audience would enjoy that childish violin music, you probably had a lot of useful information to share.

I have been binge watching all the videos i can soaking up information. I am getting ready to upholster my sectional couch. What a wonderful video.
I bought her video...I love the music and all her techniques. Such a nice talented lady. Hope she's still sewing making people happy.
That’s is beautiful!
Hello! Does the video show more detailed instruction or is it the same as this video? Thanks!
@@ValerieGuzek Yes... She tells more in the video. I watch it over and over because it's so cute!

I also loved, how the video is detailed, infact I had a problem with taking msms, thanks for this....🙏
I Love your DVD, very informative. One question, When you say you get $50.00 and hour is that over and above the cost of the fabric?
What sewing machine do you prefer? Yours seems to be a beast. I mean that in a good way.

What an informative video and a stellar lady!

I live in Canada. I checked online for cording and there are so many kinds. Please tell me the kind you use what it is made of.

Very well explained, could I send you my measurements and pay you to make mine though?
Thank you!!
If I measure and cut the pieces would you would be willing to sew it?
Do you ask your client to wash & dry fabric before you make the slip covers? I enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing.
I have a sofa with a carved frame along the top back , is it possible to use the same principals as in your video? (Great tips and very informative 🙂)
Loved this beautiful
Wow 💖 Thanks for this...... I will try to make them
Do you buy extra fabric for bias strips? Also do you use about 1 yard for bias strips. Also how much cording, how do you determine cord length?

How would I drape and shape on a leather over stuffed arm sofa

I am perfectionist, if is not very tight and fit, I feel like is not well done. But your technique is good.
The music is very distracting.
Thank you, that was very helpful.
I'm interested in your sewing machine, it appears to be a walking foot too, and portable. What model is it please?
Excellent video!
dear God cut that damn music out
I’d like to hire you to make a slip cover for my sofa.
Thank you. So helpful!
This this video "sew" MUCH! Thank you for sharing

Hell, you can buy a brand new sofa for $350-$450 these days & they are just as disposable!!! LOL.

Ha! Thought the same thing, but it stopped a little over 5 minutes in -- thankfully.
WOW!! how petty you are! pay attention to the instruction this lady so nicely gives freely!
Amelia073 sorry I upset you. I was noting that the annoying music did stop and I was thankfully able to watch her helpful video.
