My Garmin 760LM lasted 10 years.. from 2013 to 2023. Bulletproof thing
I got one. A great device. It captured my accident and put a red check mark so it won't automatically erase. dash cam is crystal clear. I figure its going to take a bit to learn my voice because it can't understand certain commands. But I feel it will adjust. Truly a great unit.
I have this same GPS. I absolutely depend on it. It saved me hours of sitting in Chicago traffic just last night. I made my delivery on time and was able to get to a safe haven for the night.

Thank you for this video. I am finally trashing my Garmin 52. What a piece of crap it turned out to be. I bought a brand new memory card over 500 GB and this thing will record minute long videos all day clogging up the memory card until it took a crap and now it doesn’t even power on past the Garmin logo just keeps restarting itself. I’m going to order one of these on Amazon thank you.

Sounds like a most have for a truck driver, i just ordered mine the same 710 model 7' as well, excited to try it out!
Mine quit working 2 weeks after buying it, couldnt get in touch with garmin on a fix for it, left me stranded not knowing where to go till I had to spend another 400 dollars on another gps.😢

I've been using Rand McNally for the last 9 yrs but there most recent GPS won't hold a charge. I heard other drivers having the same problem. Looking at switching to Garmin

I don't think it worth paying 1.5 k for a 10' 1000 version/model of this Dezl which has literally the same stuff as the 710/7' has with very minor differences, the 10's price doubles because of an extra 3' size screen nothing major regarding the changes between the 2!

@@TheJoyofTrucking how did you get it to do that? did you download tha app? im sure you guys run some sort of wifi in your trucc? but nope mine only runs 2 hours than rewrites and also it takes like 30 minutes to get the footage to play bacc on it. and when i go to gallery its just a bunch of 30 second clips which is pointless. i bougbt it so i could save my whole trip like when i take 70 west or something.
@@412hwc Oops. Kevin just informed me that I misunderstood him. Sorry. No, it does not record 24hours. We just bought a 256 mini chip. Let’s see how long it records. And if you record 30 second clips they start taking up room. Kevin did get app on phone. With wifi you can connect the phone or computer to download. We do not have wifi in truck. Still learning more about it ourselves. I’d like to use it for videos as well.

What does the Garmin Dezl have that Trucker Path doesn’t? Really trying to compare Rand and Dezl to Trucker Path and not seeing much different.
DEZL has better trip planning than the company ELD. Has voice command. We like the dashcam. Big screen. But Truckers path shows traffic and more truck parking. We use both. Haven’t tried the Rand.

Is if I could either grab the route and adjust graphically to one I chose, but also have the GPS run it against my truck parameters. Now sure that’s done manually using Motor Carriers Map and perhaps a secondary GPS. Traffic and weather especially radar and wind direction overlay is critical especially if driving solo. It would save time to see that data set in a heads-up display
did you do a review of the 800? I can't seem to see one if you did. follow up question that will make the 1st a mute point do they both give you a satalite shot of your destination? Thank you for replying.

Yes!!!! We think it might be very important in liability cases. We’ve seen too many ‘break check’ videos in TH-cam. 🤦♀️

Hey there newbie! Congratulations on your new career! Yes, it can be confusing with so many options. We recommend biggest screen you can afford so it’s easier to see while driving, no matter where you mount it (which could change if you change trucks). Also easier to push the buttons. The models ending in 10 are newer and offer a bit more, like satellite image of destination (which you could look up on Google or Apple Maps). We like the dashcam addition for video and safety. @@TheJoyofTrucking seems like there is only the dezl 610/710 without cam on amazon canada! And if I used a compared list right they both dont have voice control since they dont have a cam.I might go for the regular 700 and pair it with my phone since it's 200$ less then the 710

🤔🤔🤔Bottom left corner there’s an arrow. Press it. Next screen press ‘Where to?’ Then follow the prompts and enter Number, Street, City and State. Hit ‘Done’ and the next screen will show location and ask if it’s correct. Hit ‘ok’ if it is. Hope that helps!!!
How long does it save videos?
It overwrites as it goes. Depends on the size of the chip. You can save 30 second clips indefinitely.

Is there any way you can do a video on how crete does with getting fuel. I know the Mico manged it but do they route you way out or in route. Thank you
They give you the fuel solution on your route. Sometimes it’s off route and doesn’t make sense. Then you just ask for a new one by sending a message. They will change it. Just don’t fuel up without their giving you a solution. Following the fuel solutions saves them money and comes back to you in profit sharing.

Not impressed it put me on a route on which the road was closed.
Not fun. Does not direct one to the DC or company truckers entrance or gate. Unlike Hammer where you can search for and be routed to the truckers entrance 😮
can you shape the route if it is not the primary or alternative displayed by Dezl?
Just upgraded from the 700 to the 710 without the camera though because my 700 wouldn't quit lagging,shutting down,low memory issues and recently told me it couldn't calculate route after it had already been calculated. I eventually got it to work after parking and restarting the device and has been working since but I think its about done. Sadly it only lasted just over a year so I'm hoping this one last longer since the software layout seems different than the 700 maybe theres improvements to it or at least i can hope. I do know garmin will replace devices out of warranty with refurbished ones for a smaller price than buying new but I've never had good luck with anything refurbished but to anyone who might need the option its there.
Sorry to hear you were having all sorts of problems with the OTR 700. Did you speak with Garmin? Maybe they had some way of helping with that? But either way, we think the 710 is a better choice anyway. Because it includes the dash cam. We love it! Hopefully it will perform well for you for many years to come! @@AmandaT-vw1bi GoPro is a good idea. Lots of TH-camrs use GoPros. I just like that I can record and edit all in my phone. With GoPro he’ll need to download and edit in a different device. But he’ll have better editing program. And the new GoPros have a lot of shock absorbing so good for motion in truck. Either way is good. He can start with phone and then step it up when he’s ready. 😃

@@TheJoyofTrucking I'm currently testing the Tomtom app and will probably try using it on a tablet. It depends: I can divide the screen and have e.g. TomTom and Google Maps on one device. However, I am thinking about an alternative, recently I have been using 18 tons (United Kingdom)and Tomtom often pushes me to the restrictions of 7.5

Gps good camera sucks when I needed the most it will lag and not show previous recording. I do have a bigger s.d. Card and got subscription. And why do I have to have high speed Wi-Fi if I can’t get any once I’m trucking

I find that if I can get on the road and stay there the dezlcam is as accurate or more so than my co-pilot in my truck.
I have otr1000 best GPS I've ever had. Very accurate on mileage and time

I have the older diesel cam and I have but one question.
How if the quality of the recordings.
The old one has great resolution but there’s a distorted “warble/wobble” wave effect in the footage when replayed.
It’s not just mine… it’s been documented by many.
Mid they’ve corrected that issue I’ll likely upgrade.
This one is getting worn out and quirky… but I only want one device on my dash.

Of course not Google maps is king for satellite view!
Personally? 2 things Ive never bought in 4 years of driving...a headset...(I dont believe in talking on the phone while driving, be it truck, car, or fricking bicycle)
and the other is an overpriced truck GPS. I use my phone with Smart Truck Route 2, truckerpath including routing subscription, and Google for traffic and aerials, and a third opinion. That and obsessive compulsive trip planning lol. I somehow get by without dropping $500.
