I had a new foreman that had just started and my job was to unload trailers as they came in, which I had done for years. He tells me that when I unload a trailer to sweep it out and I said most drivers do that themselves. He says from now on this will be your job, i okay. So I'm cleaning out a trailer and my union steward comes by and says what are you doing, i tell him so an so wants me to sweep out all the trailers before they leave. He says hold up a minute. He goes into the office and within a minute comes out with the foreman and general foreman and says that's enough! Besides that the docks were full of truckers waiting to be unloaded. This foreman who i don't mention i never got along with him ever. During shutdown i came in to work for maintenance to do jobs for them and this foreman says I have a truck or two to unload, so i tell this to the maintenance foreman and he calls the other guy and says if you need these trailers unload call someone in to do it, because Jake is working for me for 2 weeks.
Yeah I used to use trucker path more, but it’s mainly for parking now. The Garmin gives all the other info, live traffic, delays, weather bulletins, speed traps, etc…. Starting May 30th at Crete. Thanks for all the info.
Now that I have the dezlcam 710 I can relax and drive safely. I have more info coming to me at interchanges in the larger cities. The co-pilot on the company tablet sometimes leaves information out. I will start using trucker path now on my phone to get those live updates about current traffic. Thanks so much for the help.
Brake drums? how quaint. lol All ours are disc/abs and we run with a triaxle on super singles, on the trailer. Some have an airlift on the forward axle, or, a rear steer. On the unit(tractor), singles on the steer of course then singles on the 2nd steer and doubles on the drive. All helps to get around our very tight ind.estates. Ellectronic onboards are still making their way into the industry. Though ALL Tracotsr and trailers have "trackers". Drive safe
Does yours have the live traffic? Ours hooks up to our Bluetooth on the phone and is pretty accurate with warnings ahead of stopped traffic, constriction, etc. It has saved us lots of time because it gives you the option to go around the traffic or delay. A very useful feature.
You’re in my neck of the woods! I worked out of that Walmart DC for about a year and some change and come back to help while national every now and then. I’ll actually be there around the 9-10th coming up from NOLA
I've got the OTR1010 but not the camera version. It's very nice, I'm glad I got it. I have it mounted to the handrail with a RAM claw mount and B size ball connector. The ram mount + magnet is great for the Freightliner rattle and hum.
Thanks for the update on the GPS . It sounds like each one has very useful features. Thanks for today video. Kevin has the right idea.Have a safe trip.
Listen to “Grazing In The Grass” by Friends of Distinction. Song is inspired from cows in the fields as they were touring. Listen to the the lyrics also. I’ll give you a new look as you see cows in fields. Drive safe y’all
People will say the same about me but I use all the information that I can. Same as Kevin. The more the better. I run the 2 garmin truck GPS units and Google maps because the info is often better but you of course are aware it's mainly for info on roads and so on. Kevin my Google maps on my phone won't SPLIT SCREEN LIKE IT LOOKS YOURS DOES...... You have a Android or apple phone....and what model ?? I have the S10 Android with ATT
Thanks guys, was wondering about going beyond the 15 when getting into planning and such. I love your channel! The best energy, attitude and music!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
What I do is call the customer. Ask for a direction line. I have the Garmin 580 awesome GPS. I don't like those big ones. Also they have a traffic receiver wich cost about $65 on Amazon. Also I save my favorite location. Lol
👍👍👍 After an incident where he thought it had dropped out of his pocket and we had to re-hike a trail to look for it, only to find it at home….yup!!! Chain it!!!!!
Yea I new to trucking I am 50 years old my kids are grown and on there own my wife died 2years ago I live by myself I love your driving video should a new driver get 2gps to navigate thank you for your responce
@@GabrielPigman-sh4zd Our condolences on the passing of your wife. That’s very hard. My (Tanja) mom died when she was only 46. It’s so young. 😢 As for GPS, you only need one. We already had the Garmin OTR DEZL 800 when Garmin sent us the dashcam OTR DEZL 710. We recommend getting one with built in dashcam. We like it in case we need to prove Kevin’s innocence in any possible accident. Too many brake check videos on TH-cam. Check our links below in the description to check out the ones we use. Welcome to trucking! Hope our videos are helpful to you!

Getting a picture in your mind b4 you’ve arrived helps ease some doubts. 👍
👍😃🤩🤩
I'm an older OTR trucker with poor eyesight. Lol. You are definitely part of the Navigation Geek Squad. Great tips and information.

Great mounting idea! Glad you are enjoying your Garmin! They don’t make the Dezlcam in 10” yet. But we’re hoping they will. 🤞🤞🤞
Some random Bobcat skid steer running past the truck while Kevin was doing his paperwork….. 😂😂😂
😁😁😁🤩
Safe travels!!
Thank you!!

You can use your phone to update your Garmin by using your tethering on your phone.
It used too much data when Kevin did it the first time. Maybe now updates are less. We try to do it with wifi.
Kevin will never get lost with his 5 GPS's
I don't know about that. Might end up in 5 different places.

Hey Kev, how long are you logged on duty, including pretrip and trip plan?
About 15 minutes for pre-trip in the mornings. Trip planning varies and is done whenever. As are additional walk around throughout the day. 😃

Got to love when they don't let you use toll road and route back roads instead.
😄🤩🤪
Before heading out on the road, starting your trip
Hello again…15 minutes in the morning.
Are you paying a trucker path subscription?
No bee just use the free one.
I find the more one trip plans typically the easiest the trip . Does Kevin have a name for hula dancer ?
Yes! Indeed! She hasn’t told us her name, so we just call her Hula Girl. 😄
That right rear inside tire was about 4psi low, hope you got that fixed. 😁
😆🤣😂😆😆😆👍🤩
17:10 Bite your tongue Kev lol I'm a year younger lmaO 😉
😆😆😆😆🤪
I see he’s got his chain driven wallet 🤣🤣
👍👍👍 After an incident where he thought it had dropped out of his pocket and we had to re-hike a trail to look for it, only to find it at home….yup!!! Chain it!!!!!
so you dont use road atlas at all
We had one and never used it. We forgot it in a previous truck. Probably good to keep one on board as a backup to electronics.

Stopped at 9 min., not useful info at all. Can't waste my time. Get to the point, if there is one.
Sorry it didn’t meet your expectations.
