Beautiful voices! Voices are perfectly matched.
How humble is Delta .She appears
not only to be beautiful outside but inside as well. Thank you Delta for the explanation and for for harmonizing and singing so
magnificently .
Delta is soo beautiful!! Her voice is amazing!
ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFUL SONGS AND WORDS BOTH!!!
Delta was amazing but - Gurrumul is undeniable.
Gurrumul isn't sighted so you may have been looking for his facial expression to respond to Delta like someone sighted would respond. I don't know him personally but he comes across as a beautiful soul. Love his music.
There's enough ugly stuff in the world without criticising something beautiful and pure. Just enjoy it.
Absolutely Marianna...this song wouldn't be anything without that haunting original sound that is uniquely Gurrumul.
Wow!!
love this song
Great song!
Yes, based on tragic death of the woman named Bayini, who was thrown off the ship in chains, I feel sad and sorrow even now. animals would never treat anyone like this only WE "humans"
This song pulls every heart string for the aboriginal people Australia should be ashamed of how they treated them and still continue to treat them to this day. The White Australia policy and the stolen generation will always be a blight on their society.
I totally agree, I had read about this year ago. I feel ashamed for being "human" who acted this way.
I am Australian and feel that our indigenous people have been treated poorly. Sadly, this has happened in other countries as well. We are not the only country who has failed to treat its indigenous people well.
As good as Delta is, I think she was genuinely humbled to sing with this man. By the way, Delta is a bloody great singer/musician, unfortunately pop seems to rule. When she sings from the heart, many more listen!
@julys847 aha yeah that must be true!
they must of rehearsed this song a couple (or so) times before they aired it because at the end of the song (in this video) she introduces Gurrumul while sitting down, but in the actual singing video she introduces Gurrumul standing up.
good pick up i just noticed also there was a single note in the released version that didnt sound quite right but here it was perfect
Gurrumul and arrogant do not belong in the same sentence. That is his demeanor - he's very shy and doesn't embrace the limelight.
How did six dead heads get to this site?
READ GOOD HISTORY BOOKS YTHEN YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME.
I AM ALSO WHITE.I KNOW WHY I SAY THIS.
She should have sung it without all the dramatic facial expressions.......it's a beautifully haunting song sung simply.....how Gurrumul sings it and that's why it's his song.
I wish she had not tried to put him into the background. He's unique - she isn't.
I don't think she tried to do that at all. Both of their voices are very distinct in their own right. Gurrumul invited Delta to sing with him. I think their voices harmonised beautifully.
I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED IF HE WAS SINGING ALONE.SH.E IS A DESTRUCTION OF HIS BEAUTIFUL VOICE
What's with the caps lock??
