- Using a heavy duty truck i have to survive for 10 minutes while a horde of cars are trying to stop me. It is all very silly and a whole load of destruction is had.

Guys, Alex is *escalating the series again* , I can't wait for the IRL version (on a public road ofcourse)
It would actually be quite interesting to see a vehicle destruction game like this done with real ones - possibly remotely driven, due to the sheer danger of the strategies most effective - and to get to see what's left of the cars on both sides afterwards. Plus, no lag or physics issues.. though conversely recording it would be much harder. Also extremely expensive.
Anticlimactically, the "crash-welding" in Round 2 is one of the best ways to do it: wedge the drive wheels and stop or high-center the target.
@@RRVCrinale That's what is unrealistic about BeamNG, being "crash-welding" isn't even possible in real life.

The Bolide was very resilient, which is why I took it, initially with a 4 cylinder. It actually survived the second chase xD

Just avoid the race configs. Those are l lower than my feet.

Yeah but it's a rock carrier, it's meant to take hits.
Also, I don't know if beam models it properly, but most diesels will run at full chooch all day long with no problem. It's usually where they're happiest, actually.
Yeah that's true. I actually forgot this, the last diesel I drove was a heap of scrap and would stall on the motorway if you gave it any more than the most modest amount of throttle. Also, the shifter linkage was held in place by three cable ties
I've like to hear Team-radio from the chasers on this one. Think it'd be funny to hear the shrieks as Alex crunches vehicles.
Amy (leathercap) does record her PoV and so does Laddo, so it is available

This is the type of series that deserves bonus footage of best crashes at the end. Would be fun to see the fright and hear the screams when they crash
The truck crunching up smaller cars is so damn satisfying to watch with BeamNG's damage mechanics. Superb.

That crush against the rock face in the first round was absolutely brutal, and so cinematic! I love this series, I do wonder what you'll do next for it. It would work in GTA (perhaps a 6x6? Something relatively balanced, but it would always be near impossible or too easy I think) but be less satisfying, but I bet something like an articulated vehicle or a bus or something would work well. Perhaps an armored, smaller car could alternatively do very well too?
The good thing in GTA, they could have a 30 people lobby against a heavy duty vehicle :D
Brickade 6x6 against everything would be interesting to watch

The best was when the body came completely off the frame of the Jeep. 😂 I was laughing a ton the whole time, but that one made me nearly spit out my drink. The extreme damage in Beam makes this all the funnier. Awesome as always.
A bit of a background on the 1st chase. I was in the Burnside, and I was completely lost and happened to stumble across Alex by absolute chance. And as soon as I saw the truck I just accepted my fate

I love your clever use of the GTA V map in the Hunt games, but I love these BeamNG games even more for the heightened sense of danger due to vehicle fragility. :D
The accurate damage means you can pick where to hit with strategy and actually have to be careful when driving, whereas in GTA it tends to amount to hitting the cars as hard as possible so you can slow them down due to few other options being available. Two very different experiences despite them trying to do the same thing.

Tips on defeating a truck:
Head on speed. Damaging the radiator means now it’s just a matter of time.
Direct diagonal impact to the front wheels. Causing damage and bending it out of alinement can seriously reduce the mobility and allow for better rear attacks.
Vehicles with pushbars or bash bars are recommended to damage the front wheels.
Getting stuck in the front wheels also helps create drag. The heavier the vehicle the more likely you can twist the truck into on coming objects
And the most effective of all: using walls & trees to completely disable any vehicle

Hearing the constant turbo reminded me of the Paul Walker movie "Joy Ride". A race with that style would be cool.

Letting the hunters respawn is a very, very good idea.
I always prefer the ones where the hunters are actually able to stop Alex. Though it was amusing watching all the brutal crunching.
I can't help but getting Nostalgia listening to your voice just describing the cars and this cuz I keep thinking of Top Gear and then with some scenarios like this with the I guess turbocharged big rig I can't help but laugh because how you describe the cars and stuff

Since you used the T-Series, should give the B-Series Mod a go, since its just a heavier version of the T-Series. Maybe even the T-80U for fun.

My dog's name is apollo too! He's a German Shepherd, Husky mix. Has 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye. Currently is 4 months old.
Crash welds are a real thing, 99% of the time though its just vehicles parts in a weird mangle tangle though lol
Use the arcade gearbox for these types of challenges so you don’t have to listen to the engine 😂

You're not stalling because of the automatic transmission, you're stalling because you have your difs locked. Every time a car wedges itself around a wheel the truck stalls

I’d like to see a chase where Alex has the speedy car, rather than a super heavy monster, and the chasers have your standard sedans and SUVs like police would use

Chaos reigned today in the streets and vicinity of Monte Pirlanda as a man tentatively identified as English daredevil and thief Alex "Failrace" Day stole a Blancia truck from the harbour area. Signor Day was pursued by several members of the Polizia di Stato, under the joint command of Inspettore Arcolungo and Inspettore Laddò, on a high-speed chase across the countryside that resulted in severe damage to many police vehicles, before overturning his stolen truck on the Strada dei Curvi. He was then taken into arrest.
Reports of a pair of duplicate attempts have not yet been confirmed.
You should give the chase cars a weight limit. For example they can have 2 cars with a combined weight of 4 tons. meaning they can use 2 suvs with 2 tons or they could save their weight and go for a super heavy car and maybe a picolino.

Interestingly, crash-welding can occur irl, though it is exceedingly rare, about a 1 in 10,000 chance

Not sure if BeamMP is on the latest version of BeamNG but the F7 teleport teleports the vehicle with the damage it has and doesn't reset it incase you ever get crash welded again

I know it’d be a lot more editing effort but it’d be cool if you could have everyone else recording and add Picture in Picture shots of their crashes from better angles as they happen
Not sure but could the low fps be due to low vram? A lot of things loaded slowly.
Also you are supposed to skip some gears when accelerating. So you go like 1-3-5-7-9-10-11-12
If you could fill the truck with scrap iron then dump it in front of the chase cars, just think!
With the truck and bus I always upshift 2 gears, unless I'm going uphill and it struggles. But yeah, I find its best to upshift twice on a normal gradient road. Helps with prolonging the life from over revving. Also do you have any plans for driven till destruction? Cheers Alex.
as beneficial as using the manual mode on these beast challenges is, it seems like failrace spends so much time stalling that it kinda decreases any actual benefit. Especially since thats usually when he gets piled on the most.
