Maybe install a oil catch can on pcv line and add a breather filter in your front valve cover were the hose connects to the air filter box so you wont get oil getting in there and vents more.
My 2012 explorer has a out 115,000 miles and when I accelerate hard the engine shakes and then I get a blinking check engine light. I've been told spark plug replacement should correct tht issue. Did you have anything like that happen to you as well?
The oil issue is due to a faulty valve cover! It's been recalled by ford I just ordered mine which is a new one that doesn't blows oil into the air intake system.

Why do you think you had that oil in your air filter?
Nice and detailed information, thank you!

I have the same issue with my 2011. It’s a common issue with this generation model. th-cam.com/video/gNFXNdNIPr8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JPjlG1DKeikSxurO.
Did you ever fix it? Or find out what it was ?
Whats the time frame we should set aside for this project?
What are the PCV and the spark plugs codes
*Is the ford explorer 3.5 have one pcv valve or two? And what is this black pipe behind the oil dipstick **10:12** is this another pcv valve?*
It's similar to the tube that connects the PCV in back, but it's just tubing, no valve.
Great video. I've never even changed a tire, but I'm about to attempt this
