The Ozarks (parts of Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma) is a region that has its own distinct subculture. I lived there for a few years and the ozark pride in the region is strong.
I love when you do states in the USA! Of course I love all your videos, but it's fun to hear about places within driving distance of me. Also Arkansas is looked down upon by a lot of people, but it is really beautiful, especially the northern part.
🙋🏻♀️I’ve been to hot springs national park! There is a reason there are no photos of the hot springs… there are no natural baths like you would think of when you hear “hot springs”. There are a few steamy waterfalls but they are pretty small. The national park is mostly about the beautiful architecture of the bathhouses. I love this area!
I lived in Arkansas (NW area) for like a year when I was a kid. Don’t remember a lot (I was like 5) but the weather was nice- not the severe thunderstorms/tornadoes though lol
Also, the Ouachita mountains is pronounced like “wash-ita”. Almost rhymes with Wichita. (I would normally never correct someone on their pronunciation but you always ask. It’s another Native American/french word)
First time ive heard about Arkansas was with the Vine 😂and I didn't understand it because in french we really pronounce it "ar-kan-sasssss" at least today
It's interesting that "Arkansas" has a final silent S in English because of the French pronunciation of the Algonquin word, since in modern French, the correct pronunciation of "Arkansas" actually pronounces the final S! In French, Arkansas is just pronounced like Kansas with an "ar" sound at the start
Just 9 more letters until we make it to the B’s! I’m loving the progress you’re making in the series😍😍
The Bs are scheduled to begin on June 17!
@@ASMRGeographica there aren't any US states that start with 'B'?

Being a native of that region I can enthusiastically confirm this.
Loved this great mix of Asmr and history 👍👍
binge watching all kinds of random videos from this awesome channel, i really enjoy all the custom intro's for each video!
I generally listen to ASMR to go to sleep, but your vids have kept me awake, and smiling. Love the little stories and personal connection.
One of my grandma or great grandma actually taught Bill Clinton. it was I think in the 60s or 70s

Very enjoyable as a native Arkansan. Just one little FYI- We pronounce Ouachita, “WASHitah”. 😁
