The fandom always focuses on Gabriel and Sam but in reality Dean and Gabe had way more in common. As Dean mentioned in the Impala how they put on a no care attitude and how they make jokes a lot and love eat and how they were the ones stuck in the middle between their family fighting, With Gabe it was his brothers with Dean it was John and Sam, and both of them just want their families to get along.
Watching the GhostGacers between season 5 and 6 is a good intermission. There is a natural - and radical - "chapter cut off" between those two seasons, so watching something else in the same world but with a different flavour could be a good thing. I'm looking forward for you to see the rest of this show weekly!
