@Eris_Nyxx Yes, the scientists in the video do have the Aperture logo on their jackets. It's probably just because Noah & the band are fans of Portal, it's very unlikely to be a collab with Steam. So many people don't get this meaning and are confused.. just read the lyrics, its about AI, creating AI is the V.A.N. That's why Poppy portrays it. The black Poppy releases herself etc..
Yeah exactly! In her old music video for Time Is Up and some of her old shorter youtube videos she was constantly portrayed as this robot and as something that needed to be contained, on a runway she even once was put in a box, this video seems to symbolize her chasing away that old persona (hence the smashing the glass in this video) and stepping into her real authentic self. Like, the duality of both of her identities basically. That’s just my interpretation tho obviously. 😭
and also the teasing of the song literally said “v.a.n takes over” and in the video poppy is v.a.n so she takes over the vocals 🙄 people need to read more

i was skeptic at first, i didn't knew poppy before this and went listen to a few songs, found some nice ones, and this song kinda grew on me after i heard it 3 times and now i really like it XD also - i didn't even know that bad omens got huge from tiktok cuz i don't use it ~ i just found some song some day and i liked them lmao
Noah has previously spoken both about how he loves Poppy's music (see album release listen along stream) and how he's always wanted to hear Bad Omens songs with different vocalists - even calling out that he thinks some of them might be better with a female lead vocal (see State of the Scene interview). So the nature of this collab make a ton of sense IMO. Also, it FUCKING SLAPS.
It is a concept song about an A.I. that is plotting the death of its creator. It isn’t so weird when you know the story they are telling. A little context skit at the beginning would have been useful.
I seen this theory that there is a callback to every song from TDOPOM in this and Poppy is the character of AI that wrote took over and wrote the song. Which sense. AI could be violence against nature.
I first saw poppy before she was doing music. Her channel was just weird and kinda creepy and was in one of those top 10 weird creepy lists. It was almost like it was for kids but there was something disturbing about it. Glad to see her make it in the metal scene
I’ve seen so many people treating this song like it’s radioactive, typically starting with something like “so what are your opinions on the Bad Omens song?”. The song is a banger, it’s not like the lead is leaving or anything, and like many people pointed out, he produced it
Omggg you're a Poppy fan? So you should absolutely listen to Bad Omens' album THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND, I'm sure you'll love it. It has similar vibes 🖤❤ And I've listened to every song by Poppy, it took me some time to get used to her music but when I did, I loved it! Poppy is so cool and intelligent 🌸🤍
Ngl, this was a clever move from Poppy Collabs are what made her big back in the day and Bad Omens' the perfect band for her style, even if taking over the vocals got her a bit of flack
Their live in Europe "Winter 2024" sounds fucking amazing. Way better than the music video, you can also hear Noah in it.. the two voices combined is top tier.
A lot of the answers to everyones questions are found in the lyrics of the song. Don't understand how all these reaction channels see this bold, unexpected decision from the band, and doesn't actually care to listen to what they are *saying*
noah definitely pushed this poppy collab. i remember watching the TDOPOM release listeningparty stream and noah saying that he likes how adventurous Poppy’s music in structure and production wise.
honestly the amount of hate this song is getting is WILD to me. You're allowed to have an opinion, you're allowed to not like it, but don't go shoving your opinion where no one (i.e, people who likes the song) wants to hear it. They're not going to delete it because you're spamming their socials! That's part of metal, doing what they want to do and not giving a fuck. I think the song is fire! But even if I didn't like it, I would only call it a miss in my opinion then move on. I didn't really like DiE4U by BMTH, does that make me any less of a fan? No! One bad song, in your opinion, doesn't mean you have to start boycotting the band. Just grow up, my dudes. EDIT: also, a lot of the haters come from the really weird tiktok girls who OBSESS over Noah which is...really weird. It's a bad omens, poppy mix. Sorry your "bias" isn't in it vocally :( womp womp
I'm a boomer at heart and I'm into like blues rock, stoner and psychedelic rock, but your channel kinda gets me into modern metal scene. I'm also into sludge/doom so that helps, I guess.
I love good production in metal songs but this does feel slightly overcooked, and I do wish Noah sang some of it too. On the other hand, I get what they were going for, and everything about the song is well tied together, so props for that. Looking forward to the new album, hopefully sometime soon enough.
Poppy was probably the wildest most interesting concert I went to a few years ago, like I genuinely walked in with no clue what to expect and she was crazy😂
I don't understand why everyone is saying there's no Noah. It's the most Noah sounding thing, he clearly wrote this. He isn't a singer, he's an artist & musician. Let musicians be musicians.
Love this song. Also, usually love your vids and reactions but read the lyrics before laughing at the vocals and lyrics! It makes sense when you understand what the message is - the vibe makes morse sense for me at least. Violence against nature is referring to AI.
Don't like very much poppy's voice but the production is sick and Folio went crazy on the drums. The only thing I don't understand is the fact that people are pointing out how the band doesn't want the fans to associate bad omens with only noah, but then proceeding to put him as the pfp of the BO Instagram profile, it seems a bit of a strange move 😂

It's honestly one of her best albums depending on who you ask.
For those that don’t know V.A.N I believe is the AI trying to either take over or destroy the band from they’re graphic novel/comic book they released
The band has a graphic novel? Woah i wanna see. What's the title?
@@aeoligarlic4024 it’s called concrete jungle I believe there’s 4 issues
@@elchubboftw i didn't know that song also came out with a graphic novel! What a multifaceted creative
i was skeptic at first, i didn't knew poppy before this and went listen to a few songs, found some nice ones, and this song kinda grew on me after i heard it 3 times and now i really like it XD also - i didn't even know that bad omens got huge from tiktok cuz i don't use it ~ i just found some song some day and i liked them lmao
This is straight disco metal i kinda love it. Im a big fan of industrial music already
That 'breakdown'(?) was actually cool as fuck. Sounds like a revving engine with a chunky bass
Major HEALTH vibes with this one. Loved it.
Yessss
they collabed with HEALTH and they made a BANGER
It is a concept song about an A.I. that is plotting the death of its creator. It isn’t so weird when you know the story they are telling. A little context skit at the beginning would have been useful.
I'll be bet right now there will a version of this song with Noah on vocals, too.
The vocal melody is sooooo ‘Noah-esque’ (that’s not surprising given he’s the one behind composing/producing the song)
I seen this theory that there is a callback to every song from TDOPOM in this and Poppy is the character of AI that wrote took over and wrote the song. Which sense. AI could be violence against nature.
Absolutely loved it!!!! Love Poppy on vocals and great vibe. Incredible. Thank you Nik. Went hard for me and the industrial. Will be on repeat for me.
God I hope we get a new BO album sometime this year.
Also, Poppy spitting barrrrrrrrs.

"plot twist, Noah left Bad Omens" lmaooooooooo
VAN is one of those songs you have to listen to a couple times before it grows on you
You can hear it’s the band’s work without the singer in it. That’s a distinctive band
As a 33 year old female, I like it. The band killed it on the instrumentals.
The first time I heard the song I got some "sadistic music factory" vibes, I liked it
I first saw poppy before she was doing music.
The song is a banger, it’s not like the lead is leaving or anything, and like many people pointed out, he produced it
Silent planet antimatter vibes. Love it!!
This!!!
going to see BO live on tuesday, pretty excited for this one live
I love bad omens but everything about this song just hits you in the face. Bring it on
I'm obsessed with this song. Never listened to Bad Omens before but I am so glad Poppy could work with them because this goes HARD!!
Omggg you're a Poppy fan? So you should absolutely listen to Bad Omens' album THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND, I'm sure you'll love it. It has similar vibes 🖤❤
And I've listened to every song by Poppy, it took me some time to get used to her music but when I did, I loved it! Poppy is so cool and intelligent 🌸🤍
Ngl, this was a clever move from Poppy
Collabs are what made her big back in the day and Bad Omens' the perfect band for her style, even if taking over the vocals got her a bit of flack
@@MvsicAdd7ctthat album was runner-up for AOTY for me in 2022, behind only "Scoring The End of The World" from Motionless In White.
This is such a great collab, wow, I love it and must look into Poppy, never heard of her till now
Its very well done and something different from the usual genericore from these bands
*”Is she the violence or the nature?”*
VALID QUESTION
Poppy is the killer android
@@oaktowndimond668 I was only saying this for funzies, kinda rhetorically, but thanks for the answer anyway!
Not a fan of Poppy's usual stuff but seriously loving this. We get to hear the talent behind Bad Omens that ISN'T just Noah's vocals
Love how it's not a standard song. The vibe is very Antimatter / Silent Planet too
Apologies for being off topic, but for a "Proof anything can be metal", how about Generator by Justice? It's so good and taking off quick.
Their live in Europe "Winter 2024" sounds fucking amazing. Way better than the music video, you can also hear Noah in it.. the two voices combined is top tier.
I cant explain why but this song just absolutely fucks 😫
A lot of the answers to everyones questions are found in the lyrics of the song. Don't understand how all these reaction channels see this bold, unexpected decision from the band, and doesn't actually care to listen to what they are *saying*
I think they peaked cyberpunk style in metal with this song
noah definitely pushed this poppy collab. i remember watching the TDOPOM release listeningparty stream and noah saying that he likes how adventurous Poppy’s music in structure and production wise.
Exactly. He literally wrote this song for her. BTW, I'm not sure if they're just "friends". If true, DAMN that's a good looking couple!
Poppy is the super villain the world needs right now, not the one we deserve.
It just gave me Ghost in the Shell, Cyberpunk on steroids, sexy terminator heavy synthwave vibes and I'm ALL for it.
honestly the amount of hate this song is getting is WILD to me.
1:39 You should keep that as the new intro tbh
I have to say; these videos have helped me find so many great songs and artists that I otherwise would have missed. Thank you!
The synths in this are VERY Bring Me sounding
Check the live version. Noah is there in the background then comes forward for the scream parts.
This is dope. Always been a fan of electronic/metal tho.
Somebody said, "Savage Garden".
lololololol
This is one of my favorite jams right now. I literally listen to it on my drive home from work every day
I love good production in metal songs but this does feel slightly overcooked, and I do wish Noah sang some of it too. On the other hand, I get what they were going for, and everything about the song is well tied together, so props for that. Looking forward to the new album, hopefully sometime soon enough.
If this was titled as Poppy with no mention of Bad Omens, I would have not thought twice.
Idc what people say I love bad omens, I love poppy, I love this song 😆 its got cyberpunk vibes
That riff reminds of the Italian industrial band Oddko, kind of lifted it actually.
I absolutely love this track. havent been a big fan of bad omens before
Poppy was probably the wildest most interesting concert I went to a few years ago, like I genuinely walked in with no clue what to expect and she was crazy😂
It’s the first thing Poppy’s been involved with since the “I Disagree” album that I enjoyed.
Edit: The HEALTH collab was pretty sick too.
I looooved flux, but yeah I understand zig being a little underwhelming
Spit cover and eat ep are amazing and so heavy, she's so talented 👏
Oooh gonna see em live in 2 weeks with Poppy :D dope to have this song to the list now
Was waiting on this reaction❤
I’m glad Nik uploaded a video on this so I know how I should feel about it
I don't understand why everyone is saying there's no Noah.
2024 version of "Rammstein x t.A.T.u.".
Lovd it
I call this synthcore. Enjoying what bands like Bad Omens, Northlane, Silent Planet, and others are bringing to the table.
Thanks, now I know the name of the gender I hate 😂
Thanks for the shortlist - I’m loving this vibe and this gives me a few extra bands to check out. ❤
Its called Industrial Metal dude
gonna see them both live tmw! can't wait ✨
