This video has helped a lot so much. My son is 12 months and he cannot sit, crawl, stand or walk. After watching this, I noticed for 2 days now, he is getting into a habit of 'commendo crawling'. I told his therapists this because she and all of my sons specialists and pedatricians believe that because of his delays and problems, he won't crawl at all. Well... I still have hope that he will crawl!! thank you for posting this!!!
Absolutely right. I don't know how "Experts" can claim, that skipping crawling for scooping and going directly to walking ist OK. I see a lot of children around 10 years of age, who still move only from homolateral patterns and never developed crossed patterns. They have problems running, sit slouched and can't stabilize themselves on all fours properly.
I agree that babies need to crawl to increase their arm and hand muscles. Crawling also increases the communication from the left brain to the right brain as the legs and arms have to work in opposites. In order for the nervous system to develop properly, a child must crawl for at least 2-4 months before starting to walk.
In the summer there was a baby named Kayden I met and he was crawling then school started and one day I saw him he was already walking and I can't believe I missed that
@thekingofpopMJ1 Same here, it's been very helpful for me, a mother of 3 month old twins, to get varying points of view on a wide variety of subjects/questions first time moms always come across.

My baby started crawling when she's 5 months old...(: And now, she can stand up by herself..(:
She just got up and started walking o.o
My mom said I crawled backwards and suddenly started to walk. I never crawled forward a day in my life
