Jess Liu is the inventor of this innovative device, which is one of the first AI-powered phones-or more accurately, a phone/assistant hybrid. As a tech enthusiast from Quebec, Montreal, Canada, I'm excited to share my spontaneous feedback and experiences with the Rabbit R1.
First Impressions
Moving on to my initial experience with the device, the design, although made of plastic, was quite appealing. The orange color, designed by Teenage Engineering, stood out and gave the phone a unique look. However, the lack of a touchscreen and the reliance on a scroll wheel for navigation was a bit challenging. The AI vision feature, which allows the camera to recognize objects, was particularly impressive and fun to use.
AI Vision Feature
One of the standout features of the Rabbit R1 is its AI vision, or "AI Eye." This feature allows the camera to recognize objects and provide detailed information about them. For example, when I pointed the camera at a dog, it correctly identified it as a long-haired Chihuahua. This feature is incredibly fun and useful for identifying objects around you, making it a standout tool for AI enthusiasts. The setup process was hectic and not very user-friendly. The battery came empty, which was a major inconvenience. Despite these issues, there were some notable positives:
