Spectrum Sunstone Mine and Neukomm’s rock shop present the first annual Oregon sunstone Facebook group extravaganza and get together. The dates are September 17-18. There will be 2 free days of sunstone digging and free belt runs at Spectrum Mine. There will be a geologist guided digging tour of 7 Oregon sunstone mines. There will be a potluck dinner and attendees are invited to set up rock swap tables. There will be free camping and cabins (limited availability on cabins). Those Sunstones are cool. How hard are they?
6-6.5. People love to facet them ^^
Great to hear from ya, hope you're doing well and are ready for winter.
To find that type of gem Feldspar with those inclusions of that size is very rare. Easily can buy a $2 million house and a couple of nice vehicles if those stones are cut the right way and sold.
Hopefully, I'll have a claim in the next few years.

Thanks! You'll have to come to the next event at Spectrum. The ones I find usually get given to people as gifts. I would like to learn how to facet one day, but thats a ways off. They carve really well too ^^.

Yeah buddy! Love that Oregon Sunstone you and Quest unearth. I like all the different layers of earth you guys dig through and show how to extract them. I'm curious which was your favorite pit to dig through and look for material? An excellent score of gemstones at the end of the day! My gosh! Really cool drone footage too. Excellent video, buddy.
Awesome! Thank you man. I think I like the small schiller pit at the end most. I really like schiller and would love to find a big one some day.

Wow! You guys got some killer sunstones! The ones with the beautiful red and green inclusions and the ones with schiller are so beautiful and so illusive, but thats what makes them all the more special when you do find them. It looks like you guys got some killer big pieces too! Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
