I would have loved to have had an apron like this for my clothes pins, when I lived in a house with outside clothes lines. I still have clothes pins; but, I now live in a subdivision where there are no clothes lines. But, I could use an apron like that when I am mowing (to put trash in that blows onto my lawn). All the Pre-School teachers could use aprons like that (to carry items that the younger children may need on the playground (like tissues, wet-ones, and many other items).
Love this. My daughter has been asking me to make her one of these for awhile now. Totally different than what I had in mind but this is so cute😍 Thank you ❤️
Wow! I never heard if these, but I knew I wanted a very functional apron to use around my house & yard & garden! Thank you!!! Just discovered your channel & just subscribed!!
I got lost on this one but will watch again if I make this. I liked your videos so much that I watched them all. I concentrate on watching videos with genuine people with informative content. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience ❤
Thank you so much! You are encouraging me to keep at it. TH-cam is not easy especially for an older person I think. Also, you can slow the video down and pause it and make notes and rewatch it as many times as you need and if you have any questions just let me know.
Great tutorial--I love this and usually only think of full length aprons to make, but this would be very handy. This would be an awesome project for using the shirt of a loved one who has passed.
Thanks for the video. This is my third video. You are reading my mind. I need a garment to harvest. I am more interested in a vest, but I love your apron. Thanks for all the hard work you do. I have never done a garment, but I think I will try your design build into a Japanese apron. What do you think?
Thank you and I agree that sometimes we just do things like we were taught without thinking about it but for me, speeding things up adds to my bottom dollar to feed my household so shortcuts really make a difference for me and as long as the quality of my garment or item isn't compromised it is a win win for me. Thank you so much for commenting! I really appreciate it!
That is a great tutorial. It makes sense to me because I sew. When you get longer videos opened up to you I suggest making a more detailed video using 2 shirts that more beginner sewers can have success with.
I'm so glad you like my videos! Thank you so much for encouraging me and for letting me know you enjoy the videos. It really blesses me! Thank you so much!
I was thinking about doing a sewing studio tour. I upcycled things to make my studio like doors, old cabinets, etc. It was fun to do. I will see if I can maybe do it soon.
You are so smart I am quilter now turned apron maker I love the gusset idea I don’t even know if that’s how it’s spelled I never even thought about that I am going to go “borrow my husbands flannel” he will get it back but it want be a shirt lol ahhahaha wish me luck lol
Great job on the narrative as well as the speed. Very supportive, very honest, and your so relatable! What scissors do you use? They look very sturdy and sharp. The thicker seams your cutting through so smoothly. May I offer some suggestions? Remind folks they can slow the video down or pause it if necessary.
Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm so new at all of this. That is a great idea to let people know it can be slowed down. Today TH-cam told me I can make longer videos! That will let me slow things down a bit but I still want it to flow well. I have two pair of scissors. The black ones, believe it or not, I got from Temu for like 8 bucks and they are absolutely awesome. My silver ones are Gingher and they resharpen really nicely. Thank you so much for commenting and everything. I really really appreciate it!
The width and height is determined by the size of the shirt you use in the upcycle. I'm not sure which one you want the measurements from but the yellow ones are still in my store and the measurements are in the listings. The link to my store is in the description. Let me know if you need more info.
I am eyeballing some of my husband's shirts that the collar and cuffs are wearing out on. I am planning on cutting one up to make replacements, which will leave me material to make a harvest apron.
You tube has a setting on the bottom screen to slow down the video on the parts you need to see in more detail. I can make them longer now that TH-cam has let me out of its prison...ha ha. They gave me 15 minutes before I reached a certain number of subs. So thank you to all of you for subbing and commenting and liking and sharing! You all are such a blessing!
I always seem to head out to the garden with nothing to put my produce in haha! I need a harvest apron. Appreciated the tips on making a secure button loop and an easier way to make a tie strap-flipping them around is so fiddly!
You can slow it down. Just click the settings button in the bottom corner and slow it down. TH-cam only gave me 15 minutes to make a video when I started but now I can go slower and make it easier to understand. Sorry you had trouble with it.
If it helps, you can slow it down and even pause the video. At the bottom of the video there is a button that lets you slow it down. When starting TH-cam, they give you 15 min. per video so I had to speed it up but I knew my viewers could slow it down. Thank you for commenting and sorry you had trouble watching it. Also, I can't give exact measurements because there aren't any to give. Each shirt is a different size. Upcycling is different than pattern sewing because each person may be working with a different size garment. It isn't like traditional sewing with cut out patterns and fabric in perfect lengths. I will cover some of this in my upcycling mind set video I'm making. Hope that helps.
Yes, hit the settings icon and the video speed comes up near the bottom of the drop screen. You can slow it to 75/50/25%. Not to mention you can keep hitting the pause button as needed. Very helpful for instructional videos!

Those are some really good examples of uses for this apron. I'm sure people will read the comment section and love your ideas. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for this. I now have a Christmas present for 2 of my granddaughters for collecting eggs and other produce. 👍
Wow! That's awesome! Thank you for sharing!
I wouldn't recommend using for gathering eggs. You might end up with a mess. If you Google egg apron I think you would find patterns for egg aprons.
Love your voice overs!❤
Thank is just a helpful, useful kind of apron. Just love it.
It is REALLY CUTE! Good job!
Love this. My daughter has been asking me to make her one of these for awhile now. Totally different than what I had in mind but this is so cute😍 Thank you ❤️
I'm so glad! I hope it turns out fantastic. Let me know if you have any questions.
This is adorable! I need one for next summer when I’m collecting summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers and tomatoes.
Wow! I never heard if these, but I knew I wanted a very functional apron to use around my house & yard & garden! Thank you!!!

So cute! I love your Bernina so much!!

Yes, it would. I love that idea!

I say go for it! That sounds like a lot of fun!
@@SherryJonesDesigns Thanks, I am lazy, so if I could add a garment to save me extra trips, I am in.
Great job and love the apron! It would be fabulous for those working craft show, picker events, etc!
I totally agree!
Beautiful harvest apron. I will have to try your short cuts. Hard to break away from the methods of the home ecc teachers of 50 years ago.💜🐞

Its so sad that they removed home ec from schools. One of my favorite classes.
@@ellenhofer3343 Yes, I think it is sad too.

Thanks for the tip!
I guess I just shouldn't say I am not going to buy men's shirts anymore. This is darling!
Thank you very much! Men's shirts have alot of fabric in them and are super useful. I hope you find a perfect one to make your apron with!
These are great projects. I will make several of these. Make that second video of your other ideas!
I'm so glad you like my projects! I might just do that! Thank you!
love this idea! Im on it asp7
Woooow! Que transformación!! Que habilidad tienes con la máquina de coser. Gracias por compartir 😊
I love it!!! I want to make one for his winter ….. so I’ll be ready for next garden season!!!!❤️…. So glad I found your channel!
That sounds like a wonderful plan!

I'm so glad you like my videos! Thank you so much for encouraging me and for letting me know you enjoy the videos. It really blesses me! Thank you so much!
Great video
This is exactly what I have been looking for! YAYYYY thank you!
Do you have a video showing your table and sewing machine setup, it's very interesting!!!
I was thinking about doing a sewing studio tour. I upcycled things to make my studio like doors, old cabinets, etc. It was fun to do. I will see if I can maybe do it soon.
Super! Je vais le faire à mon amie qui a un jardin !!!!

Love it! You can tell you use it yourself and know how it should work 👍 I think I will make one for myself and one for my sister! ❤
Loved your video and your vibe!!! Can't wait to watch all of your vlogs!!!
Yay! Thank you!
Thank you for your lesson❤
You're welcome 😊
I absolutely love this harvest apron...I want to make one like the yellow with contrast. Can you send me the measurements ❤

What scissors do you use and like ?
I have a Gingher pair I like and use but my fav is one I got off of Temu. It is the black one you see me cutting denim with in the videos.
I am eyeballing some of my husband's shirts that the collar and cuffs are wearing out on. I am planning on cutting one up to make replacements, which will leave me material to make a harvest apron.
Sounds like a great idea!
Great but too fast. 😮

Rally good idea but went way too fast for me to follow

You lost me moving on too fast for a beginner wanting to learn. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely not for a beginner. Cutting measurements only orally given. Needs to be printed.
