As an 80s kid, a friend's parents had the 81 Sedan DeVille. I remember the chime and the glow plug light when it started. It was cutting edge with the digital radio and clock. It was a smooth ride. I also remember that each door had an ashtray with a cigarette lighter.
Ahhh, yes, plug it in and add anti -gel to the fuel. Then after the 'diesel wait' light went off, you'd crank it and have to wait for that cloud of exhaust to clear.

I love the way these diesels sound. I would like to buy one some day.
wow that old school 80s ding! amazing... looks and sounds great!
To die for!! Very rare these days!!
Nice
I wish they had kept the tail fins from the 1959 and 1960s models
Cadillac should make these same cars but in an EV Platform!🤔
I had the same engine in my 81 Seville. In the winter it was extremely unreliable up here in Michigan!
You probably had to use the block heater as well. These engines were garbage.

I love that sound... but it doesn't exactly exude luxury.
I'll stay with the traditional gas model!
In 1981 the V8 gas engines came with the V8-6-4 cylinder deactivation!
@@kylescarfarm not my Oldsmobile.
Gotcha only Cadillacs had that. I prefer the 403s in my Electra & Ninety Eight
