Thank you for this upload, your demonstrations make the text easier to conceptualize. I appreciate the slow motion and clarity of movement. Curious to know if the book is still available for purchase? The link in the older comments directed me to a broken link.

Hi dear Jake. I must say its me who s happy to know the effort brought results. The videos are made for those who wish to work with the original texts on their own.
We have finaly revived our eshop with a new offer of ebooks. Check this out please:

beautiful showing. Looks like oldschool weight on those feders? They seem a bit heavier and more point-weighted than most, though you move them gracefully

Thank you! We have swords made according to our historical finds. Its weight is aprox 1,5kg-1,7kg. And yes, sword should feel heavy on its tip. Very good observation sire!👌

Awesome, love to see it! I always think its funny how much people think a sword *must* be weighted towards the hilt or its "poorly balanced". Some of the most interesting parts of swordplay come from working with the momentum of the blade.@@fencersguild-guildamgladia2485

Isn't the Zornhaw mainly used to create a bind?...
As for me it looks pointless to attack with it, cuz of the looooooooooooong journey that ur blade takes before hit the target.
literally EVERYONE would have time to react to this. I'm not the greatest master, but I study Liechtenauer fencing style and idk what to think about what I see :D

Well, I must confess, I really dunno what to respond. The video is a help guide to the text of a book I translated. It is an authentic text. Do you have it? It is now available in our eshop:www.fencersguild.com/book-of-fencing-skills---p--h--mair-1540-1550-e-book/ Surely big thanks for watching us and formulating your question. If you study Lichtenauwers teaching, you may find Mair's work enriching, since it is the later form of the same tradition. Printed version might be still available via purpleheart eshop.

    Choreographed strikes are pointless.

Do you understand the purpose of these videos sir?

@@fencersguild-guildamgladia2485 The original comment was kind of harsh, but seriously, pause the video at 00:37 and ask yourself, "Is my initial strike a threat the defender even need respond to?". You made room for the second strike artificially. If you did this at a tournament some newb would probably stab you through the chest and think they had just executed a perfect shielhau.

@@nathancody2138 once again dear sir. This video is made as a guide to the book. To provide some basic guidence for own reconstruction of an authentic fencing. I am happy you are trying to fit it into another cathegory, but if you wish to analyse some sort of fighting preformance please check our last video, or another channel.
If I may, please send us your fencing performance video, so we can get some idea with whom we have the honor to discuss our errors. Big thanks!
