I remember seeing Old Omega during the fire sale as a left over in Philadelphia, PA dealer in October 1973 for $2,900.00. The oil Embargo in the middle of October 1973 caused my mother to decried to 1974 Plymouth Duster Streight six
I rather take those unsafe ugly car of 1970 stripped than hi-tech geek made from the cheap labor country with thired world or no quality standard with Chinese communist parts and sell for 89-100K with 2000% marked up!
I was lucky to avoid 1970''s American cars ! Being a mechanic I was able to keep ,y 56 Chevy running from the late 60's to the early 80's when wife and kids needed something newer, then ran into several crappy Nissans what pieces of shit they were.😮
My first car was a 1976 Buick Electra Limited 225 Custom with a 455 cc engine and about 450 HP. I really miss that car.

The 1978-1982 Ford Fairmont. A nightmare of futility.
What alternative universe did you live in. Those cars were fine. Better than a lot of crap today
