Hi Siren! Love your channel ❤️ How about "AB Normal" (think of Young Frankenstein 's Marty Feldman and Gene Wilder's scene about the brain they put into the monster!) for the dingy's name!
You'll want an electric starter when you get the 20 HP motor. Great video's BTW. I hope to be in a 35 ft Catamaran by this time next year. I'm wishing you happy seas on your voyages.
I enjoyed seeing the fellow boaters come out and help with the new dinghy! I miss that part of cruising. Our Tayana 37 was home ported in Mobile, we named our dinghy "AL" because we had the decals from Mobile AL!. BTW a 20 HP will make your dinghy fly!!
You sure did good with the new tender. Those ABs are really well designed and built to last. There was a big sailboat in Annapolis called FREE RANGE CHICKEN. They named their dinghy CHICKEN TENDER. We laughed whenever it went by!
Well, with Hal or without Hal, I find it a joy to watch your videos each week! My husband and I have been watching you ever since you bought the boat. We are also planning to buy a boat and liveaboard here in the next 8-12 months. We can’t wait! Watching your videos help us to believe that we can do it!!! ❤️
You CAN!!!! And thank you so much for still being here. I think there was an “assumption” by some people that if I continue alone, the couple will go away and it’ll just be men watching and I truly didn’t believe that. Thank you for staying with me.
Excellent acquisition, you just hit a home run with the bases loaded. Little by little, EVERYTHING is going well for you. I know that you are not comfortable with your outboard motor, because you are looking at a TOHATSU 8hp or a Yamaha 9.9hp, they are the cruiser motors due to their high performance, do not make the mistake of choosing a larger one, remember that the pocket is an insurance P.S. Ok Mss Mérida rules of life. 1.The less you comment, the better off you will be. 2. Dreams are NOT discussed, THEY ARE SHOWN. MARVELOUS! 🤩 👏👏
Thank you!! Well my argument toward buying a Suzuki or Yamaha (or whichever brand is lighter honestly) 20hp is that when I have other people in the boat, or the dog or dive tanks or surfboards, I can still have some power. I’m going to need power when I put weight in there. The advantage to a lighter motor is that I can lift it. I believe though, that the 15 and 20hp isn’t much heavier than the 10. I think it’s the same body.
Hi Siren , wow congratulations on your new inflatable looks fantastic and so do you in it keep up the good work always enjoy the videos , Cliff from Australia
Hi Siren, just get the little motor serviced ok, put some more air in little bubble (tender). Great vlog, u seem way more settled. Love it💜🤣👍it's simply respect to go slow through mooring fields.

I love seeing the places I know. As you unpacked I thought, "I know EXACTLY where they are! Right next to the BBQ on the water place!" and then there it was as you pulled away!
I have watched quite a few of their videos. Hal does not want to be on TH-cam. You can see it in his face and body language. Some people do not like to be filmed, like me, and some people, especially do not want to make their private lives public. He was competing with all of her subscribers. I wouldn’t tolerate it either. She seems like a really good catch. I don’t think siren needs the money from this channel. If it even makes any. I don’t know how that works. People start these channels, and they get addicted to the attention. And it fucks up their private life. He will always be competing with her subscribers for attention. She will have to live with her decision. if the TH-cam channel is that important to her, she could end up missing out on a really good man.
Actually, to clear up what you said: Hal did want to start the channel and that wasn’t it. He enjoyed watching himself in the videos. I have been a sponsored surfer and musician and influencer and content creator since 2006, starting with MySpace, then Facebook, then Instagram, and made a small living in that line of work, and TH-cam was a natural progression. I’ve always been in the spotlight and frankly, I don’t need it or care. I was a model most my life, I spent a lot of time on stage playing music and modeling, and I don’t require attention to go through life so this isn’t a “new” thing. I do make money from the channel, a small living. It will grow. I make money from views, and I make money from sponsorships and content packages. Regarding Hal and I, I don’t think it’s necessarily fair for anyone to assume they know the ins and outs of our relationship, and honestly, we don’t need to air out our business on the internet, but with any relationship, there’s a lot people don’t know. Please do not assume to have any idea as to what was going on in our personal lives.
Yeah he was voted off. 😂 But we’re now talking again and seeing if it’ll work but he probably won’t be on the channel again. I don’t want fiancés or boyfriends on and off the channel. If you see guys on the channel, you’ll know they’re strictly friends, or people I’ve hired, or they’re a future husband. lol
Well I love the tender! We used the FC 470 Zodiac in the military and I not only loved them, now I miss them!!! I really loved how you got it to where you launched it because also have a Jeep (hard top) and I see they are only limited by imagination!!! I heard something when putting the tender motor on I can’t let pass. “ Hey look, oh that’s a lot longer than I expected!” Yep that’s what she said. I just about fell in the floor when I heard that!! Siren my friend you look and sound happy and that’s what you need. Great job on the video!! Stay the course my friend!!!! PS I’m going to second that motion don’t cut your hair!!!!!!!!
Hahahaha Yeaaa yeaaaa Oh the wranglers are awesome. I’ve been trying to get one for ages but my commander just keeps running and it’s bigger and doesn’t seem to have limitations either expect for the fact it leaks!!! I’ve gotta get a new vehicle. This Jeep was Lacyes and it’s gorgeous! No hair cutting. Deal.
Yeah I got more in there. That material is still flexing and stretching. In the middle of the day, it would look like it was going to pop. Then at night it would look deflated.
You are darling cute! I love your hair the way it is, but yeah I am not jealous of the heat it will keep in. Maybe paint a purple stripe on your Tender and paint a Grape Bunch on each side, and then you might feel like naming it what you wanted? Best of luck to you!
That is a nice looking inflatable. A 20 horse motor will transform its performance. For me I would pump it until there are no obvious creases which will help handling in choppier seas.
Small world, my AB 10UL tender is probably your tender's identical twin! (10hp with a 15") As for a way-cool tender name, how about "Mistral?" (from the french word, "masterly.") It's also the french name for a cool, northerly wind that brings clear, fresh weather to southern France - helping the vineyards to thrive in Provence. Oh well, great job outta you! Peace, ease, & joy to you! Monitoring on life's 16! Kevin in San Diego (S/V Mistral) LOL!
Siren what are your plans for the near future now that you’re on the boat by yourself? Do you still have plans to bring your boat up to pcb where you can work on it at home.
That’s a real possibility! I believe so. But a lot is happening right now and I’m having to do a lot of things off camera, so I have a lot on my plate to figure out, boat aside.
How about Siren's Dink, or maybe Siren's Tender. Anyway, it looks like a nice tender. It does sound like there is something wrong with that motor, but it's something that can be fixed. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't throw the motor away unless you just want a 20 horse motor. Keep the good stuff coming.
Yeah this motor will be fine for the moment and I’m pretty good with fixing it in the moment when it gives me hell or won’t start. But I’ll want a 20hp for the future.
We didn’t have a gauge on the pump but I’ve added air and even now the fabric is stretching because it gets tight when it’s hot out and then looks deflated when it’s not.
Absolutely LOVE the name "Sea Grape"!! And don't cut your hair, it is beautiful!! I have waist long blonde hair so I know how hot and cumbersome it can be! I feel like all I do is put it up in a clip or bun so I completely understand the struggle, but your hair is gorgeous, so please don't cut it!!! LOL Also, I have a quick question, if you have time......Was it worth it to buy an older boat and fix it up or do you regret it and wish you had bought a newer boat with less challenges and less equipment to replace?
I have no regrets. As a broker myself, I see a lot of newer boats with the same problems. Newer boats are often not built that way I’d have them built anyway, plus I wouldn’t have teak slat and maybe not glasses in bulkheads, in some cases… many things. The teak deck may not be an issue on a new boat because they’re glued but I’d have paid a lot of money to buy a boat with a teak deck anyway. I only paid $30k for this one. Leaking fittings and things like that happen to ALL boats,Ike many of these problems. Boats can be brand new and still have problems. By 5-10 years old, things stop working. That’s any boat. So no, what I care about most is the hull, the rig (rigging gets replaced on all sailboats every 5-10 years anyway if you’re using the boat a lot and especially if you’re chartering) so no, there’s absolutely no reason to buy a newer boat. Plus my boat came with a newer Yanmar, and newer fuel tanks, which are a couple of the concerns I’d watch for in older boats. That and rot but I don’t much rot.
The bottom line is: Newer boats don’t equal “less challenges”. In some cases, you may have more challenges. I take each boat individually into consideration.
A real sailor sits on the other side of the rubber dinghy. You have to work with your left hand on the throttles and hold on to the boat with your right hand. Unfortunately, there are so many people who make that mistake
Yes I know and I always have but in that old one, if it was just one person, you couldn’t do that because it would turn it hard and was uncontrollable. I generally sit on the port side and operate with my right hand, but I can do either. I do that because in the past, all my dinghies have had a transom just wide enough that I have to lean over to reach with the left hand. You men do it with no problem but if I want to sleep at night without back pain, I’m sitting port. In this case, I can’t sit there and use the camera. The camper was already falling over and it was hard enough. You’d be surprised how much weird crap I have to do just because of the camera. However, it planes out much easier when the weight is centered if there’s nothing in the boat. Now when I have a bunch of stuff in the boat and up near the bow, I always sit on the tube.
Must be hard working by your self , but it maybe a better way! Try to be careful when doing things , so you don’t get hurt ! Maybe just sealing the outside chain plates in till the major repair , the deck is a other story just everyday try to seal the wood the best you can , it will need to all come up in the refit ! It’s all a big job be in time it will get done , a little each day adds up to a finish job in time !

Hi you payed a lot for your new dingy 3-4 K ? That is the most pisspour box for shipping I have ever seen. I will make note not to buy AB dingy HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU
Hi Tim, it’s never safe to assume. AB Inflatables is a sponsor of the channel and the tender retails at around $7k. It was not shipped, we picked it up from their warehouse in Fort Lauderdale (seen in a previous episode) and drove in the rain back to Key West. The box was soaked and blowing in the wind. AB Inflatables makes a good tender and they don’t sell wet cardboard so I don’t judge them on it.

@@TheSirensLog Awesome! Thanks so much for the info! This will help us greatly in our search for our boat! You're the best! 😍
Love Garrison
Under the hatch on your tender. Write your boat name, your name, and your phone number.
Thanks, yeah I have one of the fancy stickers that go in the boat I just have to put it in tjere
For inflatables, I like AB the best but prefer the OC Tender. Are the tubes Hypalon or PVC?
@@robertlaird6746 hypalon
@@TheSirensLog Nice but it looks like you need to air up your tubes more than you have.
Just call the dinghy Reddy...as in Red but always ken to go. Chaps will come later...maybe be red ones
Hahahah Chaps will come but I think they’re grey. Hahah I like Reddy.
New dingy name...SIrens Song
Must be hard working by your self , but it maybe a better way! Try to be careful when doing things , so you don’t get hurt ! Maybe just sealing the outside chain plates in till the major repair , the deck is a other story just everyday try to seal the wood the best you can , it will need to all come up in the refit ! It’s all a big job be in time it will get done , a little each day adds up to a finish job in time !
Yep! Gonna be a big refit this winter. It’s overdue.
Sand flea ... just a thought .. best wishes and........................................ Cheers
Awhhhh that’s cute actually because I think they’re sending me grey chaps. Ok I will keep that one in mind!

How is your pigeon doing?
Just started his third round of antibiotics! He’s doing great actually.
@@TheSirensLog I'm happy to hear that! Now you need a cat 😸
What about Sea Tick?
Can I have your old one, because it’s nicer than mine😂😂
Hahaha I’ve already sold it!
New toy!!! Now you need a new car. Lol
Amén!!! I know it. My Jeep is leaking bad!
@@TheSirensLog oh and I forgot to mention, if you cut your hair short I'm going to cry. 😭😭😭 lol
Yeah, where is Hal?
They broke up
We did break up, but we’re speaking and seeing if it’ll work out. I don’t know yet. Either way, he won’t be on the channel.
@@TheSirensLog your tough girl don't get back just because you think you need him because of the boat! You'll do just fine and I'm sure there's some nice guys out there that would be glad to be there for you!😁😁
@@36offshore What a silly remark Offshore! Just thinking of the boat. She can sell it any day right?! And we don't want any yes-man or smooth-talker for that matter. 🧐

Thanks for a great episode! Slaìnte.☘️😎
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so so much. I hope you know how much every dollar counts right now. I’ve got a lot on my plate suddenly and I’m hustling to hold it all together and I will!!! But help along the way is so very appreciated and is an absolute blessing. Thank you
@@TheSirensLog It's my way of assuaging my guilt for not hopping on a plane and coming to help you. My friends have told me I have to stop doing that, and my fiancee would probably pitch a fit, too. 😎☘️
@@nicholasbluehahahah Yes she would! You’d have to bring her but then she’d be aggravated that you’re trying to make her work on a FL vacation. 😂Haha
@@TheSirensLog She's an Irish lass, and while I've introduced her to parts of the US, we haven't been to Florida yet. Having seen Phoenix, LA, Detroit, and Atlanta, she'll be able to appreciate Florida weirdness. Alas, while I know tons about boats (but have zero experience), she has neither. We'll just continue to try and help from afar, at present. Slainte.

Thank you! I’m doing alright. 👍🏼
Your awesome 😊

Mind telling us what the inflatable cost?
That tender retails at around $7k.
Don't, don't, don't cut your lovely hair,
Thank you Paul.
I have the same dink it’s a great dink . I don’t think it is inflated all the way
It’s still stretching. I’ve added air and it swells in the day and looks deflated at night.
Where is Hal ?
@@TheSirensLog Hi, Yes I was wrong, I like to watch your show, I am to old to get another boat, Unless I win lotto stranger things have happened and AB are very good boats. I hope I see in the gulf, thank you About 35 years ago I had a Zodiak 12 FT. I am sorry please understand

New dingy "dynk"
But I already call it that. lol But so does everyone else so …she’s unique. Must have a unique name. Haha

Don’t cut your hair please!!!
The say bigger is better
In this case, bigger is MUCH better. This feels like an actual boat. The old dinghy felt like a pool toy.
