There are actually alot of African American reactors who cover BTS. In fact the majority of reactors I watch are 70% African American men. And, I follow like over 50 reactors. 💜

SUGA is a big-time hooper. He is actually the Global Ambassador of the NBA. The NBA asked him to be the ambassador. He has done alot of promo's with the NBA. He's always courtside at the games. 💜🏀
The NBA Suga X merch sold out in minutes. They restocked and it sold out again. The NBA made merch for the cities on the Agust-D sold out concert tour.
Taylor has given us their name in the way they do in Korea where they give their family Surname (last name first).

While J-Hope can put together great choreography, BTS has an amazing choreography team that does choreography, and they definitely contribute, but it's not J-Hope alone that does their choreography. He is responsible for their stages and for teaching the members the choreography.
Also, Jungkook was 13 when he joined Big Hit as a trainee. Korean age is different than standard Global age. You add a year when you are born, and every January 1st you turn a year older. So you could be born on December 30, and two days later be considered two years old. Which is crazy to me.
BTS still goes live with ARMY, but right now they are serving their Mandatory Military Service, so they can't go live with us. But when they are back in 2025, all seven of them will be able to once again. JIN will back June 12, 2024, which is only a couple months away, and J-Hope on October 17, 2024.The rest will be back in June of 2025. But, look forward to content releases while they are away.
J-Hope's documentary HOPE ON THE STREET is being released on Amazon Prime video, along with an album EP to go with it. It will be about his travelling around the world and meeting different dance crews, and he will be dancing. J-Hope is all about dance. Anyway, look forward to it March 28, 2024.
Hi dear. 68yo Army here. In Korea the last name comes first and Kim is the most common last (surname) name in Korea, like Smith is here. Also in Korea military service is mandatory and three of the members are currently serving in the military. The others will be enlisting soon and they all will be finished serving by 2025. Yes, they regularly do live streams with the fans. Jungkook is famous for his 2, 3, and 4 hour livestreams he does from his apartment...he's even been known to do them from his bed. Yoongi chose the name Gloss because his name means gloss in Korean.

Suga (aka Agust D) is the NBA ambassador now.
J-Hope isn’t the choreographer. He learns the dances from the choreographers and then helps the other members perfect it. He also contributes ideas to make the choreography better. That’s why he’s dance leader. Jimin, the other main dancer also helps J-Hope teach the others and contributes to decision-making in terms of making the choreo better.

Now, they are performing as individuals until they come back as a group in 2025 after all 7 members finish their military mandatory service 😊
The boys all went live on Weverse to Army right up to the days when they joined up with the Korean army to do their mandatory military service. They are hoping to be back togethrr safe and sound in mid 2025.

My bias is RM he's the main rapper, composer and songwriter of the group with more than 218 songs credits under his name , he's also the leader and the reason the CEO of their company decided to form the band ,BTS wouldn't be here without him 💙
They sometimes I produce or help produce for their own solo projects. Including solo songs within BTS albums. They do group songs and solo songs to allow members to shine individually as well. Suga has been known to write, compose, produce and come up with Music Video concepts all on his own lol. These men are crazy talented

Our boys are kings... as many awards, acclaimeds they have recieved to this day, they are still being underestimated just because they are from Korea and misjudged as a Kpop/boy band... there is no one else who are killing it as they are in the music industry. Tjey deserve much more love and acclaimeds. Until then can someone else say otherwise...❤💜

As for Suga = "Shooting Guard"? At least in South Korea, there was talk if he'd kept at it, he could have easily gone pro. As a middle-schooler, he had some SERIOUS skills. Still did, even in 2015 when we last saw him play - with a severely injured shoulder no less! - for an Idol basketball game. Music called him at such a young age, of course, even HE didn't get to see his own full potential in hoops so we'll never know for sure, but there was talk.

Korean names put the surname first, so Kim is the family name and Namjoon is his personal name, and RM is now his stage name ( originally he chose Rap Monster). Kim is a common surname in Korea.
Suga originally chose the name Gloss because his Korean name meant something like Shiny.
Jungkook was only 13 when he joined Bighit company and moved to the dorm in Seoul, he was 15 when they debuted. The Koreans counted age differently.

💜Watch RunBTS the episode where they go to a theme park is hilarious. He said he passed out on the roller coaster. He still went on all the rides. Being an ARMY trainee must have been easier for BTS because if the producers found out you were scared of something they made them do it. They wrapped a snake on J Hopes neck. Suga who nearly drowned as a child they put in the sea alot. They all eventually largely got over their fears because of this ...but you feel sorry for them. JUNGKOOK gave fans 2 free concerts of his GOLDEN album. Check out The pop up concert Times Square.

He was 13 when he *auditioned*. He's stated, "summer of 2011" - typically auditions were held in June or July - so it was just a few months before his 14th birthday in September.
He's also said himself, he joined the dorm - that is, BTS - in Nov. of 2012. Subtracting 1997 from 2012...that was an oddly correct Korean interview. (ARMY knows that, usually, when in Korea/on Korean shows, they do give their Korean age, but for some reason, he went with his international age for the one featured in this video.) True, it was only around 2...maybe 2 & 1/2?...months after his 15th birthday, but...he was definitely 15 when he joined.

Kim is not a name. That is, Namjoon is a first name, and Kim is a last name. In Korea , they pronounce it this way
XCELESTE THE HARDSHIPS OF BTS touches on a continuing and organised attacks on BTS but doesn't mention the death threats etc were when they were exhausted injured suffering from ill heath etc. SUGAS real name is MIN YOONGI. His Christian name Youngi has a similar meaning to Gloss.His parents used to tear up his books of lyrics. They wanted him to study and become a civil servant. They were poor and thought he needed a secure job. There are so many artist not in BTS who have come out with stories of different ways Suga quietly helped them. Either by solving their problem by hooking them up with people to collaborate with or different acts of kindness... He took one trainee to hospital paid for him and sat with him all night. Suga is a really kind person, but he's nobodies fool. He learned young when people ripped him off.

I'm sure if you believe that J-Hope is the choreographer for BTS. He learns them the fastest which gives him the ability to help others. Jimin has been able to do the same. They both have a great level of respect for each other when it comes to dance. Jimin has said he would be lost without Hobi. If you have seen any of JK's mv's some of their choreographers are in his mv's.

In Korea, they are addressed by their last names first. So ‘Kim’ is their last names; there are only 250 (I believe) last names in Korea, and ‘Kim’ is a common one.
I have explained it to my non-K-Pop friends as "Kim in Korea = Smith in the U.S." Oh...and "Park in Korea = Jenkins in the U.S." Jung/Jeong is another common one, also akin to Jenkins as well.
There are, however, a little over 5,500 surnames in South Korea. However, some are so rare that only half a dozen people or so have them, so (for some weird reason, no idea why) they're often not counted/left off lists when looking up Korean surnames.

I mean...you could fit the whole of South Korea into the state of Kentucky. SK has well over 51 million people...Kentucky only has around 4 1/2 million. So, it's pretty easy to get "lost in the crowd" in South Korea...whether you want to or not. LOL

Only had one thing to mention to you (as 'Baby Army' or any other new comers). Unlike some of (The biggest) 'Murican Artists/Rappers/Boy Bands' to date. From Beyonce to Travis Scott to 'New Direction'. Majority of 'their songs' were written FOR them. And even 'stolen' in some cases....yea - We see you, Queen B.
As you'll learn. BTS (amongst themselves) have written their own songs/lyrics/music which makes them The Ultimate...when it comes to their music from '13 - 2023. Also? Let's not get it wrong. BTS have worked with an AMAZING Dance Choreographer from the beginning.

They are all amazing! Though Jhope or hobi is scared of a lot of things he's the bravest because despite his fear he's always doing things that scare him. You can always learn something from the members of BTS and it's always different for each member just their music. Even though they are all young they have taught each other to be very wise I recommend watching their lives they are so much better than they are in studio! Also Jungkook is currently doing promotions for golden his first solo album hes done a lot live performances that you could check out so have the members! African American is a term used here in the US to denote an American of African descent. There are also Asian Americans, and Native Americans. There's a similar term for white Americans, European Americans, but it's rarely used.
I'm kind of uncomfortable with these terms, because it feels like it indicates that only whites are "real" Americans because the others need to be qualified. It's very political.

"African American" is the "PC" (politically correct) way to denote ANYONE who is black in the U.S.
Problem is, many came from Nigeria and other countries where darker skin is common, too.
Not everyone who is black came from Africa, so...personally...I've always hated that term.
