I am glad you enjoyed cinderella is dead and even though it wasn't perfect you still managed to have a fun time with it. I have it on my shelf as one to read in the future. Oh no for not liking any of the stories in the people from my neighbourhood short story collection! That is going to be one to avoid for me. The Deep was my first rivers solomon that I ever read and I really liked it too. I think the concept is spectacular and the story itself was done so well. I agree it was a little tricky to get into but once you do you're on and away. Glad to hear you did like moses ascending!
Cinderella is dead is a good YA. Yes you must read the actual Guards! Guards! book - you will LOVE it. Glad you got your reading mojo back. Also glad you also say Autumny - it’s a little joke I have with my sister-in-law that we say autumny instead of autumnal 😂
That was a very mixed selection of books, think you are back in the game reading wise now! I wouldn't attempt any apart from the last one possibly. And am looking forward to chapter 12 of Safekeep !😻
Stay away from The Night in Question, the stuff with her friend in hospital was upsetting and you definitely don’t need to read that. I hope you are enjoying the Safekeep! Let me know when you have read chapter 12. ❤️
I’d like to read The Safe Keep, partly because Van der Wouden is a Dutch writer. She was raised bilingual and she wrote this in English, hence eligible for the Booker. And.. Charlie… fantasy?? (Yay!) 😊 And Charlie & Charlie will be back soon!
Yeah for the Safekeep. I hope you love it. Re the fantasy I just think fantasy books appeal so much more than real life books at the moment. Myself and Charlie had soooo much fun filming together again. ❤️
You are generous with your stars. The Night in Question sounds interesting. I am reading and enjoying an old Willa Cather historical novel about the founding of old Quebec city The Shadows on the Rock and others.
Charlie book chat while I’m getting breakie and packed lunches ready in the morning is the best!!
😘❤️
I'm glad you're getting your groove back with your reading x
Cinderella is dead sounds good and I've been meaning to read the deep for ages!! X
You would really love The Deep Sarah I just know it. Plus it’s super short too ❤️
Great mix of books this month! The Deep sounds fantastic!
Thank you! The Deep is brilliant and I hope you enjoy it if you ever read it ❤️
The Deep is SO good, I’m glad you liked it ☺️💛
Yeah Rivers Solomon is such a great writer. They have one out next year that sounds very spooky but hopefully will be good 🤞

You definitely should ☺️❤️
Your review of Cecilia was spot on! I really liked but I don't know why 🙈
I DNF'd People in my Neighbourhood

Yeah I definitely need to become more stingy with my stars. Those books sound fab☺️
I know what it is like to have loose your reading mojo. The Deep sounds fascinating, but boy having this 'history' dumped onto you sounds like a lot.
Yeah the subject of generational trauma was never going to be easy to have discussed in a book but Rivers Solomon does a fantastic job with it❤️
