I'm glad they're improving the app and all, however coming up on a year later and still this many disconnects and no reads is concerning.. I was playing on E6 last night with a buddy and I'm still getting like 50% no reads on driver and chips.. Thankfully mine doesn't have disconnect issues, but the no reads are getting very old..
Nice video again. I to have about same disconnects like you did but still can reconnect. I was saying months ago having better ball physics will make alot more fun play. The terrain is whacky with chip shots though. I to have the ball hardly go anywhere if it’s on a hill etc
Recently had my skytrak go boom from a shank and it was reconditioned back to mint condition. While waiting I wanted to see if the MLM2Pro would work with my setup (8' to LM, 9' to screen). In a messy garage with lots of metal and concrete. So far it has been flawless. Not a single disconnect or no-read (chips less than 9' sometimes misread but they do this in the skytrak as well).
For me, the #1 benefit is that the unit is protected from toe shanks. #2 the incredibly easy set-up and alignment in seconds. #3 the video replays. #4 no lag compared to ST. The only con is that GSPro integration is needed. If people can open-source a work-around, I don't see why the company can't afford to pay a contract fee for developers to create a proper integration.

So I noticed the alignment camera when you booted up the box the ball should be in was aiming past your hitting mat and that’s exactly what mine was doing to for some reason, I have my MLM on foam mats to level it to my hitting mat. I had to remove 2 of mine to drop the alignment box back to where my ball always sits. Played 18 holes on gspro and had one 1 no read the whole match. I’m still just using my iPhone to screen mirroring to my computer and didn’t have any disconnects.
I prefer running awesome golf on my mlm2 pro myself. But this update is a movement in the right direction for the unit itself.

When I use my Ipad, I have tons of mis reads but no disconnects. I connected it directly to my phone today, and it was working so well at the range. It was reading chips below 10 yards. Got to play 9 holes with 3 of my buddies who were all impressed. I really do think it comes down to the Wifi/Internet Connection. I do think the latest update did hurt Local connections. Hopefully with the next one, they are able to fix this.
Another great video but those disconnects and no reads really kill momentum when trying to play a round .. this unit has so much potential but I feel like we have all given them a year and still these basic connectivity issues are happening .. definitely happy I made the jump to BLP even with the higher cost
I will say the graphics in the bunkers did look a lot better and the physics are great
Rapsodo development team should not have made 30,000 courses available. should have kept it at under 50 and made them amazing.
Yeah it's tough... 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. The way these courses are all built is just from databases. I think they are making massive improvements! Hopefully they just keep getting better and better. The good thing about this way is that everyone gets to play their home tracks as well as the big name courses.
@@JLagGOLF I think theyre great for the pricepoint, I just feel like its almost pointless in a way to have 30k courses...if they all look the same. You're playing in an open field with a few trees, trees that are all the same, ground thats all the same, etc. There's nothing making them individual aside from the order you're playing doglegs, straight holes and par 3's. Regardless I still play courses Im going to play in real life cause I can get a feel for the layout of the fairway and thats about it. Love the new green physics. I personally would be much happier with 20 courses that are all unique rather than 30k courses of the same.
Hello Joe, there is an indoor simulator bar near me that has full swing simulators (not the kit). They are amazing and there is a trick for putting/chipping to move much closer to the screen when you hit them and without thinking I did that with my mlm2pro into my backyard net and to my surprise it read it very well.
I tried it a few more times with different little chip shots and some flop shots and they really seemed to read better. To be clear I am no where near inside the hitting box and am nearly close enough to hit the net with my club on the follow through.
Have you ever tested or tried the little chips from about halfway between your normal hitting spot and the screen?
If not, is that something you could, or would be willing to test out to see if you think it’s accurate?
The impact vision video doesn’t see the club hit the ball when I do it, but you can clearly see the ball launch up and spin and because the ball is going so slow the video clip stops recording before it hits the net just like when hitting a full shot from inside the normal yellow box hitting zone…

Disconnects are worse when using my iPad and I’m having to use local wifi. But when I use my phone and I can connect directly to the MLM it works much better
The iPad app is unusable.! So many bugs in it and it’s getting worse. They should be embarrassed asking $199 annual software subscription when the software doesn’t work.

I'm a beta tester now as well. This was my first time being one. Was there a firmware update for this beta update or just a app update. I did notice ball stopping better. But just wanna make sure I didn't miss a firmware update. Love thus video
Disconnect after disconnect for me on Samsung S6 Lite and iPad Pro. Rapsodo asked me to send mine in for "testing" over a week ago and I haven't heard anything from them. Hope they swap it out because it would be a great unit if it could stay connected.
Shot delay is more prominent with this update for sure Joe! I'll take it given the physics are improved and more life-like. Didn't get as many disconnects as you in this session, my old iPhone holding up nice (I so set it on an ice pack to keep cool, it gets super hot and drains the battery fast, time for new iPhone soon).
I’m having a huge problem with launch on my long clubs. MLM2Pro has my driver, 3w, and 5w launch ling single digits and spin is on the low side so I’m hitting low spinning stingers that barely get much more than 50 feet off the ground. It has to be the MLM2 because that’s not the shot shape I’m seeing on course… I have zero trouble getting the ball in the air on course… maybe it’s my setup? I have a leveling stand for the MLM…. So not sure

I did notice the marker only show 1 up - 0 or 1 down. Its not measuring elevation
The update hasnt shown me much difference in play. On my Samsung phone, I'm unable to adjust the location on course in the small window. I'm still getting drops in impossible locations on courses with crazy elevation, which forces me to take Mulligans or have to quit the hole. My biggest frustration is the inconsistency in distance. On the range I have to put the elevation to 2500 feet to get normal distances. When playing local courses the elevation needs adjusting to be accurate, but on famous courses my distances are normal without adjustment, even those at sea level. Overall, it does get better with every update, and I've hit thousands of balls this winter in Chicago that I otherwise wouldn't have, so for me, it's been great despite its quirks.
I noticed with the MLM2 pro when it’s having connection issues there’s more of a delay on shots. When the connection is solid the delay is normal.
Ok very interesting I haven't made that connection! I'll keep it in mind while testing.

Ya, I noticed the increased delay in the latest beta as well! And disconnects are up, compared to the released version previous to the latest release.

The shot delay and miss reads are aweful. If I owned this I'd be so dissatisfied.
I own the MLM2Pro and it’s practically become unusable. The data is not accurate and can be 10-100 yards off if you use their special chrome soft balls.
What’s sad is that it was pretty good when initially purchased. I took it to the range a lot and it had zero issues. Now it’s wrong in so many ways. The shape shots are grossly off now. Literally seeing a few slices when I hit but the tracing , data, shot shape shows it as strait or draw!
Also, it’s horrendous when using a net. Simply unusable.
Unfortunately, Between missed shots, constant connection issues and a ludicrous $199 annual subscription for software that doesn’t work and appears to be progressively getting worse people are better off with using cheaper alternatives such as thePRGR.

How long does it usually take from beta to everyone getting upgrade?
In my experience, chipping with the Rapsodo is horrible. Mine fails to read most chip shots. I did learn that if you want it to register every time just hit a bad shot.
Has anyone setup a security camera using wifi instead of usb for webcam putting? If so, please let me know. It is the last piece of the puzzle for me getting my outside net setup with my pc indoors running GSPRO. Thanks.

Great video! Would love to get some advise, I currently have a Skytrak but the yearly subscription that is so high and the in accurate data makes me want to change to a new one. What would you recommend to look at as I would like not to spend more than I already have and would love to take it indoor as well as outdoor.
Thanks mate I really appreciate the comment. Honestly for the price and performance I still think the GC2 is an amazing device! They are old however and not supported by foresight anymore. The other device that I recommend is the Uneekor eye mini! That's what I have and use and although there have been issues on the new beta firmware version I'm testing it's fantastic 👍👍 you do have a yearly subscription unfortunately but that's what a lot of these companies are doing now to get continued support. If you're going to be using it mostly indoors and want the option to take it outside I'd go with photometric based.

Since the last update I am having tons of disconnects . My unit was perfect before so this is very annoying. I can't understand how connectivity can get worse . Still loving the unit but I wish I could go back to the previous version of firmware . Back when my unit was flawless.
Yeah same for me. I’ve found I’ve had to put my iPhone right next to it in the ground for it to stop disconnecting which is very inconvenient
honestly the more i see with the MLM2 pro and its disconnects the more im leaning towards mevo+
I preordered mine. It’s been a constant source of frustration. But, just like my old cars, ‘when it runs, it runs good’. I wouldn’t buy it again because I don’t bring it to the range, just use in the garage for practice and sim. When it is really finicky, I uninstall and reinstall app per suggestion of Rapsodo and this sometimes clears things up (like not being able to open up ‘practice’). I use E6 for sim, but I can’t play Belfry, always crashes.
Fwiw I’ve had dramatically improved connectivity after the previous update. Haven’t had a chance to test the one they pushed out today yet though.
thats not even a comparison. anyone would tell you to get the mevo+ if you have the space and money for it lmao. its double the cost my guy!
@@jeffyboi6969 They match up with Doppler and Camera tech, newer technology as well. It's actually a lot closer than you think... Also - used market for Mevo + with pro package is ~1500 no subscriptions vs MLM2 @ 699 but with 200 a yr.
How did you get your ipad to show full screen on your projector? I have mine set for 4:3 ratio but it's still not full screen when I use the USB-C HDMI adapter to the projector. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hey mate so my actual impact screen is more of a 4:3 ratio and then for my laptop I adjust the settings in the NVIDIA control panel to make it fit perfectly. But it's actually closer to 4:3 which works out nicely for the iPad
@@JLagGOLF Thanks, my impact screen should be too, but for some reason when I'm in the Rapsodo app, nothing is fit to full screen. I'm 99% sure my projector is hung at the correct distance from the screen, just not able to get it to go to full screen. Appreciate the videos, you're helping me along with my sim!
It's almost a year in Joe & the MLM2 is a bust for me.
Glad I returned it for a credit and went back to R10.
This thing is just one problem after another!
The R10 mk2 will be out next year and I'm sure it will knock the socks off most in its price bracket
The disconnects just kill me... They went away for a while and the device was near perfect for me! Now they are back 😭. It's a shame as this thing has sooooooooooo much promise. The accuracy of data and ball flight is undeniable. Just so many bugs..
Funny enough I did the opposite. Got tired of the R10 not reading wood properly and switched to MLM2Pro with absolutely no problems.
SkyTrack has Disconnect Issues as well. In Hour Session at least once or twice.
Damn that's not good to hear.. actually I think Skytrak makes Rapsodo units if I'm not mistaken.....

I wouldn't say this makes anything better but its a step in the right direction toward a more realistic simulation. tbh chipping was cheese before and very easy to get within 10 feet. i'm not complaining but the update will make things more difficult. esp without a perfect set up :;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;/
Ive been having trouble with spin tracking on my rapsodo. Even if i put over 10k rpm it does not spin at all. Any tips to fix this?
When will this beta become an official update?
Hopefully within a month 🤞🤞 it all depends on how the beta testing goes and if there are any bugs or issues.

Yes I completely agree.. this is a beta version so I'm sure it will get fixed before release.
Yes you do need a subscription for this. Without the subscription you only get access to the practice tab so you could use it on the range and also you get limited data storage.
You lose spin and spin axis as well indoors.
With the updates to the Rapsodo app, is having Awesome Golf now a "nice-to-have" versus a "must" now?
