Ah, Westen Builder Supply, the most normal of bases in a region of unusual bases.
Also known as "the Fenced Warehouse", this base is farther along the road from the starting base meaning are very likely to encounter Rusty Rosie's Fortified Truckstop first.
Westen Builder Supply specializes in expansive customization with a huge amount of available open facilities to customize and no pre-built facilities that cannot be removed.
But will this customization be enough to make Westen Builder Supply, the Fenced Warehouse, standout? What's inside this base... and is it good? Let's find out!

My favorite outside of the Firehouse. But the last 2 runs through the map those STUPID Zombie Hunters have taken it! Those asshats.

In that region, I usualy skipped most of bases and headed straight to Fire Station one, maybe stopping once at the truck stop one, so I definitely feel like checking that one out, thanks for recording this Fox!
It's a pretty good base.
Nice old school video. I 100% agree with the review this is a great base. The tight quarters being a challenge during sieges is probably it's only drawback. It's strange how there are no bases in the center of the map.
I love this base. I personally like this more than the 8 man bases on the map. I get around the defense problem by parking cars around the side and back doors. If I have plenty, I put the cars in a V shape so they don't get knocked away if a community member accidentally opens the door.
you can get around the defense problem by equipping everyone with 50. cals

It is one of my favorite bases!
Love this base, make sure to block 2 side entrances and rear entrance with cars and let them come in thru the front. and if you place sniper tower where failed cleo drop located the enemies will never reached front entrance.
I really wish you'd finish the Providence Ridge series and do the Valley sites as well. This series has been really helpful to me.
The workload on me has been overwhelming to the point that I was having trouble keeping even the daily gameplay vids going.
@@GitGudFox I respect that completely; I haven't been able to stream anything in months. Consider my comment just an enjoyment of your work and a hope for future times when things are relaxed enough that you can have the free time to do more. No stress, friend, real life comes first.
I love this base. I always put the sniper tower where the cleo drop was. Covers the main entrance plus the other two and not many zombies seem to come in the back. Sight lines are fine depending what facility is put beside it. Great review as usual.
Not going to lie the firewatch fortress was a great idea, and I really liked the aesthetic of it, especially being up north and at that altitude because going down south you can really see the atmosphere change, but the firewatch Fortress was definitely under utilized because it says that it has four beds, but you cannot use any of the beds that are up in the actual tower; going up the tower actually count as you leaving the base which is a big letdown since that should be a massive overwatch or a sniper nest. I just hope that in a new map in the new game that they come out with something just like this because it was definitely unique especially if you walk around the base and see how it was boarded up and how defendable it is you really fall for it.

It is a pretty defensible base if you find three more cars to block all other entrances so the fight pretty much concentrated at the front. You can put the watchtower there instead. This base doesn't look impressive from the outside but it is larger than it looks on the inside (weebit tight and cramp but it feels really good).
Bought this game three days ago. Love when I getting new game, I always finding cool youtuber I whould never found otherwise :-) Thx for your gides and your content, keep up the good work!
Trying to get builders legacy on nightmare right now, so much materials, so little meds and ammo (juggling leaders sounds like too much work for traid depot). Will try this base next time, sounds better than "Rusty Rosie's".
P.S. Is this gust me, or daybreak feels like SOOO much grind, and it's just so soulcrushing and boring, but I feel like I need to get all the rewards... Problem is, I can't get past 4th wave with random teammates. Only once I got flawless, but I feel like I played with modders that time...
Honored to have you join, yes, Daybreak is horribly balanced for player progression. Takes like an hour to finish a full game, and you get like 900 prestige.
You earn around 1150 after all rewards are unlocked. Average win is 900-950. Plus the 3 extra reward give about 225. Ended up grinding DB to get my prefabs back. Got tired of waiting on UL.lol
I have everything unlocked and earn about 900 to 950 for a 7 round victory. I haven't seen 1000+ for a full game since the RT character nerf several months back, and I had a recent 7 round clear to make this very video (the CLEO siege).
@@GitGudFox I always receive an extra 225 from 3 reward chest too.
This was, at least for me, an easy base to defend during a siege, you just need to know where to put everything.
That small slot next to the CLEO drop? Red Talon watchtower, zombies mostly come from the front so I put it there.
The other two small outdoor slots are hydroponics. The small slot next to the command center, Red Talon officers quarters. Other two small indoor slots are a Red Talon workshop and fighting gym.
Large slots are Lounge and Field Hospital.
Harley Queen - it can take a while, mainly cause after a while you need to get past wave seven (7) to unlock things rather then getting past wave three (3) and wave five (5). Think about eighteen (18) daybreak wins you unlock everything could be more. Don’t quote me on this.
When I stayed at base I had norm watchtower there.
@Harley Queen Use the Community Editor to bypass the Daybreak reward requirements. Its a cardboard game mode and should be treated as such. Dont waste your time on something not given any in its design.
It took me too long, mainly because I also went for 9 out of the 10 Red Talon unique skills. So that's another 2750 × 9 just for the survivors.
Also the regular watchtower can work, you just have to deal with a higher threat level.
@Harley Queen It's a modding tool. There are several ways to download it. Google it and choose which you prefer. You'll of course need a PC.

I just blocked 3 of the gates with cars, so during the siege attacks they come through 1 gate and it's easy to pick them all off.

Block all doors, except main entrance with cars and u get impenetrable bunker for noobs... On west side u should build small tower for defence and on north west big slot, build big tower when you clear that area.... There is no way in hell that any zombie can get inside if your survivors have 50 cal snipers
Lately the game has been resetting my vehicles. I am on the large base though. Stopped trying this old school tip since my squad can deal with practically anything on nightmare mode.

Hey Fox, you probably won’t see this but I am trying to find a guide for the Fire-station and Lumber Mill. I don’t know if you have already made guides for them as I can’t find them anywhere and I know it’s been 5 months since your last base guide (At least you what I can see from the playlist) but I would really enjoy watching those to see the bases from your perspective. I’ve enjoyed watching all the base guides. Thank you :)
Great video but you put the Watchtower in the wrong place. You place it in the Front slot. Even the basic 1 Man watchtower is OP there as it allows nearly all around fire. Block the back entrance with a vehicle and this is one of the safest bases in the game
I did try it there and didn't really notice a difference. I tried 3 locations for the watch tower, and they all came out with similar results.
The zombies mainly attack from the south entrance, and both of the centrally located slots performed similarly as well while the western slot performed a bit worse until the zombies made it to the center of the base.
If you move the watchtower to the front by car parking security is not a problem.
The watch tower is right next to it. I recorded sieges with the watch tower in all 3 small outdoor slots, and they all gave similar results. Security was a problem in all watchtower positions.
The only thing I didn’t like about this base is defending it. It frequently seems to turn into a cluster F. Besides that it’s pretty solid. Looking forward to seeing you you make of the fire station and lumber yard!
I guess no one had said it because it is obvious but this is the red talon leader's warehouse before the outbreak along with the unique heavy weapon the ground breaker shovel.

I get very annoyed when bases have huge open areas that aren't used for slots, since it leaves me thinking the survivors must have some rocks in their brains to not be utilising all that space. For that reason, I love this base, since every square inch is utilised. It's got a very compact feel that saves it from the usual blandness that I think comes with the "warehouse / storage" bases.
Limited base building sizes in general should be moved past. It's one of the very primitive aspects of SoD that holds it back from other zombie crafting games.
@@GitGudFox Late reply, but I think State of Decay would lose its' identity if it was just another "build a crafting table in any old shack" type of zombie game. The unique bases and working around them are a key part of what sets it apart.

For me, it's a base to collect another CLEO drop and move to the next, usually sawmill since it does have more of large slots that I like.
I always chose the biker base but then when I restarted the map there was an enclave there so I had to move to the warehouse and I’m amazed I always skipped thru it
What would you say the best setup for this base without dlc's?! I bought the game but didn´t complete nothing yet!
I always used to go to rosie’s but when an enclave was holed up there I was like fine I guess I’ll go to warehouse and I’m honestly preferring warehouse over rosie’s

They were easier to make when I was unemployed. Most of my guides were made while I was unemployed and had a lot more time on my hands.

Depends on your needs. If you want lots of customization, Westen Builder Supply. If you want to focus on trading with beer, Squelones Brewery.

I hate Daybreak.
Well if you're not above cheating and have access to a computer, there is a community editor program that will allow you to unlock all daybreak items as well as give you prestige. You can use it to modify your community as well and do a bunch of other stuff too but you could use it exclusively for the daybreak stuff
You can find it on Nexus. It's just called 'Community Editor'

The best thing to do would be to not play solo. If you had to play solo, well, RIP, there's an achievement just for getting to wave 5 or 6 solo I think. The game isn't balanced for solo. It can be done, but the amount of effort isn't worth it.
