    I Think there is some miss understanding of the purpose with Aptera. It is a vehicle for electric long distance travel. Not shorts local trips which should be made by bicycle, by public transport or by fot.

    • @billsmith5960
      @billsmith5960 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's an American company and they are catering to Americans. We have a terrible public transportation system, terrible access for people to ride a bike or walk. So, we have a legacy problem and thus, we are forced to buy more vehicles. Unless you are poor and don't mind taking a chance to get run down or run off the road or wait a really long time for a bus to show up then you don;t need a car.

    EVs while not dead, have been sold to the bulk of people who can afford and think there the next big thing. They are not, we all have heard the issues with them charging time, Electrical grid capacity and fires being the biggest. Fun fact every major manufacture are testing Ammonia engines zero carbon, 90% the power of gas, existing cars can be converted at a low price, gas stations can be converted, still require the maintenance of a gas car so the service companies love them,

  • @lyfandeth

    They conveniently forget the Aptera is not a car. A three wheeled vehicle is legally classed, regulated, insured, as a motorcycle. In dome cases it is called an autocycle.
    But no place considers it to be a car. Why so many boosters intentionally lie about that is a mystery. Aptera themselves do not call it a car. What issues could spring from people finding out they just bought a motorcycle instead of a car? Well, some condos and other developments only allow cars to park overnight. No motorcycles, no trucks. Oops.

    Trump is not a fan of EVs and green initiatives in general, it has been reported that the $7.5k EV tax credit is going away at some point after he takes office, the EV tax credit was/is important to some. Elon has the ear of the president to personally garner support for his EVs but he probably won’t advocate for other EV manufacturers. This will be interesting to watch and see if Aptera can get past regulatory hurdles.

    Everyone thinks EV’s are the only game in town. I think the Aptera is the only real ev that’s worth buying. But it will be 20 years or more before EV’s will be ready for prime time, right now they are just a rich man’s car and not practical at all unless just used for short commuter purpose. If they come up with a safe battery that will go 250 to 300 miles on a charge is safe and have and infrastructure to support it then maybe I would buy it as long as I don’t have to mortgage my children’s future for it. Even then Natural gas, bio methane or hydrogen is a better choice for the heavy truck market. There are many obstacles to electric transportation. Having just one fuel for all vehicles is stupid we have experienced that during the oil embargo’s. I’m not against EV’s im against an all in on one source of energy.

    It's exciting technology, and no one would like to see it hit the market more than me. If I could, I'd get one.
    But let's be real.
    The investment team that started this company has a track record of declaring bankruptcy before putting a product into production. Repeatedly.
    The Aptera company is roughly a decade into taking people's money without ever delivering a product to anybody.
    The NTSB requires a whole slew of crash tests before a manufacturer can get anywhere near selling vehicles across state lines, and these Ponzi scheme dolts never did that.
    It's almost as if the investment capital team wanted to cash out early while hot-potatoing the company to someone else who would actually do the unsexy work of getting a company off the ground but they were to incompetent to do even that.
    If anyone has any evidence that this is more than some investment capital and engineering nerds jerking each other off, I'd love to hear it, but I'm not holding my breath.
