I liked the review , the Nephandi are incredible villians

Also, it's disappointing to see that the Nephandi are not meant to be playable characters, while the Sabbat, Black Spiral Dancers, and Thallain technically are. Just because their focus is on being evil purely for the sake of being evil, they're somehow considered more taboo than the cult of vampire supremacists, the tribe of death worshiping werewolves, or the literal embodiment of humanity's nightmares?

Apparently Phil Brucato believes that, if you play one, you will legit become a bad person.
I have no sources for this besides word of mouth

@@nasir6r996 Classic case of the writer not being able to separate fantasy from reality. Like the old satanic panic that had people convinced D&D was teaching people witchcraft.

Kind of hard for them to avoid depicting the Nephandi as cartoonishly evil, when their goal is to destroy reality itself. Not the planet, not society, but actual reality. They want existence to cease, and it's kind of difficult to present that in a way that's meant to be taken seriously.

Granted, I have not done much in depth research on Baphomet, but from what I have heard, the real life depiction of him is supposed to represent absolute freedom from morality. In other words, if you worship Baphomet, you do not acknowledge the existence of Good and Evil. That could be what makes him so malicious in a game of Mage, in that his worshipers either do not realize they are engaging in evil practices, or they simply refuse to identify them as such.

How does anybody find this entertaining? You’re just nitpick every passage in the book. It’s like reviewing a video game based on coding alone.
