Great, but as the son of a farmer I couldn't farm because the equipment is already too expensive and the sale prices too low. It just doesn't make financial sense. Not to mention the dealerships gouge and gaslight and control your every move because of the complicated electronics. I know the people that design these new technologies come from a good hearted place but the historical trend has been that the increase in technology has led to the consolidation and corporatization of farming, and the end of the small family farm.

We have 8 billion people to feed. Can't rely on small family farming anymore.

i believe we are going to see de-centralized, centralized farms, meaning smaller farms and smaller equipment. high quality nutrient dense food grown in landscapes that are being restored for the ability to regulate weather (check out Alpha Lo) .

De-centralized centralized? I'm not sure what you mean by that..

Can you run an electrical generator with maybe an internal inertia flywheel off the mower gearbox to recharge it.

We appreciate the question! Our autonomous battery electric mowers use a charger that plugs into a 120V AC or 220V AC wall outlet.

Because the internet has control of our kids, we cannot teach them that hard work beats talent, a 12 hour day in a tractor meant an early knock off when I grew up. And we started with sg2 cabs. I would sit in an 8320r 24hrs a day if I could, this is brilliant technology but a cop out on teaching our kids what hard work can get you. Made men, men.

Waste of money. How bout focusing on right to repair, so those windows of farming opportunity don't open and close while the JD dealership isn't able to get out right away to fix the code your equipment is throwing. It's a fools dream thinking you can get an AI tractor's brain to do what the human brain does instantly. I just watched a video of a waymo passenger stuck in an autonomous vehicle going around and around a circle, stuck. A field is no different... rocks, powerlines, fences, people, animals, holes, crops, irrigation pipe, metal left in the field, etc. No AI brain can navigate around all that. There's 10-18 hours of daylight and ~18 hours of a sun creating shadows that an AI brain has to navigate with lidar and other sensors. And oftentimes, farmers have to work through the night. How does AI do this at night? It's mind-blowing that you believe you can solve all these challenges getting an AI brain to recognize all of the obstacles. Again. Right to repair will do more RIGHT NOW than AI will ever do.

The average age is definitely not 58 in the US. Those are the census approved "Amerikans" that are actual land "owners" of farm "land". Actual farmers are mostly undocumented whether immigrant of under the table paid, and would likely bring that age average down to 24 especially being that you likely dis-counted millions of people because the message John Deere seems to be selling is, American farmers are older white guys... And we know that's statistically the laziest demographic oppose to the hardest working. They have the most money and generations of resources. Screenshotting this post and taking the link bc I'm sure this comment will be deleted.

The age of the owner and/or farm operator/managers of 58 is pretty accurate. In fact, that average age has come down some over the years as the next generation has taken over. The people you refer to don’t buy the equipment. Any company that doesn’t build what the customer wants goes out of business. Technology is incorporated into countless products these days. Farming and agriculture are no different. On board computer and GPS systems have helped farmers be more efficient and better job for three decades. Technology is going to continue to advance and even if we want to, we can’t stop progress.
